Enterprise on College Road is hands down the best! Every representative is professional, friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience for each and every client! The vehicles are clean, and well maintained, with a wide selection to choose from. I've rented here several times now and most recently Josh, Harrison, Emma, and Angelea (?) were beyond helpful and accommodating, assisting me in acquiring a specific vehicle and were flexible with my pick up timing, making my chaotic day so muck less hectic!! I've rented from the Enterprise location at **2309 S. College Road in Wilmington** several times, and I'm consistently disappointed by the condition of the vehicles when I pick them up. My most recent rental was especially frustrating. The windshield was so dirty that it should have been cleaned before the vehicle was handed over. Visibility is a basic safety issue, and customers shouldn't have to clean the windshield themselves before driving away. I've also noticed a recurring pattern. The glove compartment is often left hanging open, and the front passenger seat is pushed all the way forward with the seatback folded down, as though someone was in the middle of doing something and never finished before putting the car back into service. Whatever was so critical, it clearly didn't include cleaning the windshield or returning the interior to a normal, usable condition. Unfortunately, this isn't new. In November 2023, I rented an SUV from this same location that was so filthy on the outside that I was embarrassed to be seen driving it. I ended up paying to run it through a car wash simply because I didn't want to drive around town in that condition. That experience should have been an isolated incident, but based on my subsequent rentals, it appears to reflect an ongoing lack of attention to vehicle preparation. These aren't one-time issues--they've happened repeatedly over multiple rentals. I continue to use this location because it's convenient, but the lack of attention to basic preparation is disappointing. A rental car doesn't need to be perfect, but it should at least be clean, safe, and reset so the next customer doesn't feel like they're getting a vehicle that someone abandoned halfway through servicing. I hope management takes a closer look at its quality-control process. A few extra minutes spent properly preparing each vehicle would make a significant difference in the customer experience. read more

When your car dies in a doctors parking lot, your brain goes into overdrive to fix it. First we had a guy come to jump us, but that didn't work at all. Then we called for a tow truck to come and his arrival time kept getting changed due to traffic conditions. In the meantime I had called Enterprise. Yes they had a vehicle for us, but we had to get there before six. With the fluid arrival of the tow truck, the two dogs everything was up in the air. I called Enterprise back and asked them if they could come pick myself and the two dogs up and they said no problem. They arrived within 10 minutes Took me back to the Enterprise place of business, spent 15 minutes doing paperwork and vehicle inspection, etc. Everything was great. They upgraded me for free. The vehicle was spotless. My dogs don't shed, but they said if they did then just please make sure the car came back without any Dog Hair. And their price per gallon was much less than a price per gallon of gas down the street. read more

The corporate office or the local office needs to update the reservation system. I reserved an auto decided to stop by to make sure I had done everything correctly. Went in address manager said, we don't have any vehicles. (Me) not even the one I reserved. So what am I suppose to do? When did you plan on telling me? Just blank didn't even look my way. For the third or fourth time in a year, the car I rented was dirty. It was (almost) humorous that there was a specially-placed printed card hanging on the rear view mirror about all the extra things cleaned ("sanitized"!) due to Covid concerns. For the car I rented on Tuesday, August 29, there couldn't have been anything cleaned at all...for many, many rental turnovers. A layer of gunk on the steering wheel; dirty carpeting; a broken, filthy console. And the inside reeked of smoke. And why is the passenger seat always in an upright position, the visors down, and the glove compartment open? Why are renters forced to realign the inside of a car after spending upwards of $65 a day? Nationally, the cost of car rentals has increased nearly 50 percent since 2019. Surely Enterprise can allocate a few bucks to a working vacuum cleaner and some training for cleaners. Or perhaps the community could hold a bake sale and use the proceeds for a Walmart Hoover. In late November 2022 I rented an SUV from this location and drove it through a car wash so it was presentable for passengers. I'll avoid this College Drive location in the future. I'm tired of settling for far less than what I should be getting for my money. Had a horrible experience with this location, specifically Nicole. She lied saying they couldn't get into the system to see my reservation for a roadside assistance swap just because they didn't have an equivalent car to mine. Then when I escalated it with customer service, she was magically able to see the reservation. She was extremely unfriendly, unhelpful, and dismissive. read more

Taylor and Jake are literally the most terrible customer service agents I have ever had the misfortune of having to dealing with. They are unprofessional and rude to their customers.. I rented a car because I was in an accident and the front bumper was damaged on the rental the day I picked the car up and only had 1/4 of a tank- fast forward to me returning the car and they are trying to make me pay for the front bumper and for refueling even though it had the same amount of gas in it when I returned it. I am reaching out to the BBB at this point. I will also be contacting my attorney. read more

We arrived for pick up only to discover (1) the pick up truck we had reserved online was not in the Enterprise Rent-A-Car (ERC) store. Mike the ERC rep. (2) tried to muscle us into picking up a sedan. (3) Mike then advised us to wait while another store brought our vehicle to us. (4) Sometime later we advised Mike that we had a time sensitive pick up to make, and really needed the vehicle we had reserved. (5) Mike told us to go to a second ERC to pick up our truck. (6) We called the next day because there was no rental contract in the truck, and we needed to schedule a second day's use for the truck. (7) Mike used this time to inform us that rental contracts are now emailed to customers. We returned the vehicle the next day, 48 hours after pick up but BOTH of the ERC stores (reserved/ and picked up locations) were closed. We locked the truck, placed key in the dropbox, and then days later discovered Mike had charged us for a third day. We called the location; were told ONLY Mike could resolve the erroneous charge, and that he'd get back to us. We are still waiting for that return call three weeks later. We spoke with Maria in CS tonight, spoke complimentarily about ERC, saying this is not what we've experienced or expect from ERC, and she blasted us out of the water about correcting her (???)! This is really tiresome Enterprise Rental Car, and you win. Please refund our money. We won't make the mistake of ever using your company again. read more

I have rented many cars over the past couple of years from this location in Wilmington... I have yet to receive the rental car class I reserved and usually rent a SUV and always seem to end up with a intermediate size with no compensation for their error.... The last time I rented was the day after a Hail storm we had in the area .... Upon returning the vehicle I was call and informed that there was significant damage to the room and hood of the car and it was my fault... on the voicemail Informing me the agent said and I quote " there is hail damage on the hood and roof of the vehicle and we weren't sure if it was due to earlier this week possibly the week or out of town" well it never rained a drop while I had the car in my possession..... but somehow they are charging me for the damage ..... All I can say is go over the car with a fine tooth comb take pictures of it do what you have to to protect yourself from their scams..I guess because cars are hard to come by they have to charge their customers to fix the inventory they have ..... really terrible customer service all around....even when you try and get the damage recover unit involved.... You have been warned !!!! read more

We had a great experience with Enterprise. Our car was ready on time and was exactly what we requested. One of the customer service associates went out to the car with us to check it out and went over the options on the car. The process was very easy and we drove off in our rental car within 10 minutes. The entire experience was excellent. We picked up our car at 6 pm on a Friday evening, which seemed to be a popular pick-up time. Enterprise was very well staffed. We returned our car a day early. The office was closed so we put the keys in the drop box. Even though the office was closed for the day, we received a credit for the day we did not use. We have used this Enterprise office before and will use them again to rent a car. We've never had a problem and have always been treated well. read more

If you have another option take it but unfortunately they are few in Wilmington. The Ford dealership does rent some vehicles. They should only be your last option for renting a car. Poor customer service. To say they suck is a compliment. read more

Waiting since 10 am for pickup, it's now almost 1 pm. The fourth phone call, finally gets someone on the phone. She told me they run a skeleton crew on the weekends, so that's why they haven't picked me up yet. I don't want excuses, I want my rental! This is why I don't use Enterprise! I have used Enterprise for many years; their customer service has been first class no matter where I have rented a car. They have substituted a better vehicle more than once when the car I reserved was not available in a timely manner. They have also made monetary adjustments to my bill on the rare occasions I have had complaints regarding my rental. I have only cheated on Enterprise one time, with Payless (a big lie, I actually paid more for less car than I would have with Enterprise) and the customer service at Payless was - in a word - NONexistent. Never again. I refuse to rent from anyone but Enterprise, unless I have NO OTHER choice. read more

In this day and age, we unavoidably have to do business with big franchises in some parts of our lives, no matter how much we cherish old school moms-and-pops operations. This reality can have unpleasant aspects, because we end up getting impersonal treatment, like a number - without the personal touch. The Enterprise franchise at College and Shipyard in Wilmington is a blessed exception to our preconceptions about big franchises. The folks that work there are great... Nice, smart, energetic, accommodating, and - most importantly - willing to give individual attention, to think outside the box and help meet the INDIVIDUAL needs of ALL of their customers (like, for example, when a deer "hit me" in my rent-a-car last fall). I have rented several times from Enterprise. Their customer service has always been the best, even on rainy days when they have to walk out with the client to do a walk around to check for damages before the client gets the car. If i reserve my car online before I arrive they are waiting on me to walk in the door and it takes a total of about 5 minutes from there. If i don't reserve before walking in they are ready as you walk in and get you in and out within about 15 minutes. These people greet you with a smile every time. read more

We have rented vehicles from the South College Road Enterprise location many times in the last couple of years. Those experiences have always been positive with clean vehicles that were in good shape. Last week I needed a large vehicle to transport six people to Maryland. The South College Road location did not have a Chevy Suburban but the airport location did. The employee there wasn't rude; just indifferent. The vehicle was delivered with soft drink stains throughout the rear floor mats and carpeting and it had a high-speed vibration probably caused by improperly balanced wheels. Of course, they had no way of knowing about the vibration but they certainly could see the stains that were easily removed with regular carpet cleaner. This experience isn't enough to cause me to avoid Enterprise, but it certainly wasn't exemplary customer service. read more

Made an online reservation for this location. Showed up a few minutes late and was told they gave my rental to someone else and didn't have anything for me. Told me I could sit and wait to see if someone brings a car back or I could call back the next day. This was after my previous rental I had to trade in during my trip because the car handled so poorly. Staff is very young and unprofessional. If using Enterprise I would use one of the other locations. read more

This branch seems to have some trouble getting their act straight - and this was not the first time I've rented a car from here. At first making the reservation over the phone, I confirmed a pickup time and the vehicle I needed. After waiting 30 minutes after the pickup time I called the branch and they informed me I needed to call them for a pickup once I reached my intended destination and they don't schedule that ahead of time. Then when I finally reached the branch office, they had me scheduled for a different car and had to take time to get ready the car I requested initially. Total, they wasted over an hour of my time. This branch needs serious help and leadership. I love Enterprise, but don't recommend this branch. read more
