DO NOT rent from this company and READ the other reviews first! Manager is a scammer and takes advantage of tourists. Reserved car and had insurance through 3rd party and travel credit card. Was refused rental if we didn't take their company insurance. This is FRAUD and the other rental companies in the same airport don't do this. Also tried to charge $200 for pet hair in car. The whole purpose of using this service is for convenience. Manager has no customer service skills and is incompetent. Get rid of her. read more

Look, if it's this place or walking use them if you have zero other options but they check all the boxes in terrible service. I choose dealers choice when I made a reservation Kassidy put me in a SUV to which I thanked her and told her I had fingers crossed they put me in anything but a truck. I didn't have a flight back so I had to put a credit card on file instead of debit card. I walked back to our van and got a credit card and when I came back she put me in a truck. I told her I was going to Wisconsin and she told me she would have to charge by the mile because I have to drive through Minnesota from North Carolina to get to Wisconsin, I had to explain and show her Minnesota was NOT in between NC and WI. I was a little late with the return, two hours? I had to stop to check the oil because and alert popped up, "Change Oil Soon" then miles later gave me a separate warning that it needed an immediate change. I explained this and asked her not to charge me the extra two hours, she said, "We will have to get proof of that" I showed her the picture with the mileage she needed to put down at the end of the reservation and the oil light saying "Change immediately". she just said , "Oh" and then still charged me. Also There was a blunt wrap, dirty comb, and chips under the seat. All and all.... if it would be a long walk you can use them but oof, try to avoid them at all cost. We waited over an hour to pick up our rental car ultimately cancelling and going with Avis. There was ONE guy for Hertz, Thrifty and Dollar rental companies but mainly working for Hertz. He would not help us until all the people who rented Hertz had their car... the Hertz line was never ending as planes landed. Some people had been there two hours but still never got their car. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. The car I rented was good. I had no problem with the car you have to watch. They put a lot of extra charges on when I rented the car. I asked the service advisor is this the total amount and he said yes and I made sure that I wouldn't be charged anything extra. The first day they put a $20 charge on then there were several charges for $2.77. I was able to call and speak with someone and she said she would remove those charges. The day I turned in the car they put an extra $19.77. I called to find out what that was and they said it was "airport tax" I asked the reason I wasn't told about it when I first rented the car and they said it was something that just got put into effect that day or the day before. I asked to be refunded and the person I was working with the managers, but I was sent an email saying that they could not refund me since it was out of their control. it is not OK to do that, I felt like I was being deceived. There shouldn't be these hidden charges. It's something that should have been told to me upfront. I will not rent from them again. read more

In general Dollar Rental car at Wilmington Airport offered me a very nice truck at a great rate. My issue is that I was charged a fuel fee of over $38 two days later. I made sure to fill up the tank the night before and even sent their office proof of this full up. On our morning of departure we simply drive from the Air BNB to the Airport at 8:30 AM, no side stops. There is no way we could have consumed 3.5 gallons of gas as they reported. Hopefully Dollar will take this review into consideration as well as my emails to their managers and grant me a refund. The system definitely works better at larger airports when their is a check in person to inspect the car / truck with you upon return and you get an onsite print out of your charges. read more

I have rented cars at this locations several times. This time I had a super deal through Hotwire via Autorentals.com. The pick up was efficient, no pressure to purchase extra insurance etc. the car was a Kia Sol which was a perfect size for my niece and I and her two toddlers in car seats. Luckily we had a small amount of luggage so the cargo space was large enough and could hold the groceries we picked up later on the way to our destination. There was a slight hiccup when I returned the car, the computer was giving the front desk person a problem with the pricing saying I was returning the car early and was changing the rental price. She was new at the job so she called her manager and assured me there would be no extra charges. We needed to check in for our flight so rather than wait, I trusted her and everything turned out fine. I would rent through them again! read more

I got a great deal through Hotwire. Sometimes the rental company seems to resent that, but the employee who handled my reservation was terrific, and impressed that I'd found such a deal. It's a small location, but when a line formed a second representative came from the office to speed things along. I got a nice car with very low mileage, and there was no pressure to include any of the extra charges they are required to ask about. I'd definitely rent from here again. read more

Dollar Rent a Car blatantly cheated, do not rent from them. I reserved a car through Travelocity at OAJ airport and when I picked it up received an agreement for the expected price of $54.55 for my trip. When I returned the car I was charged $137.13! I did not get any extras like insurance, and brought it back with a full tank. After noticing the incorrect amount, I went back to the counter to get it corrected. The staff said he shredded my original paperwork already. When I pulled up the reservation email on my phone, he went into the office and retrieved the original paperwork. He called his manager, and ultimately reduced the charge to $63.59. Still over the agreed upon pricing and I received no explanation as to why. Travelocity could not explain or correct either, so I am not renting through any of these companies again read more

I would like to make users beware of this Dollar Car rental location. This place is downright unethical and cheats. I booked my car via orbitzforbusiness for my corporate travel for 2 days. So, as you can imagine that it was corporate travel and it my company paying for it. Still, I cared to protest the incorrect charges this dollar location forcefully charged. Reason I bring it up because the guy who is at this location thinks that if it a corporate booking, no one would care to see what is being charged and they would just let it slip. Person there (late 50's) is smooth talker but downright liar. Young guy seemed honest. My complaints about this place: - charged $15 for 2 days of roadside assistance despite telling them no. - when brought to attention, with in 5 minutes of signing paper work (before leaving the location) - he told that it will be removed when I return the car. He reluctantly scribbled on the agreement paper to remove it when I return the car instead of taking it off right then and there. - When it came to remove those charges after 2 days, there was another guy. He looked at it and said it is not possible to remove roadside assistance charges after rental is complete. Then, finally he did after some pleading. Terrible experience -to top it off, after 5 days, I got charge of $28 dollars for fuel charges even though I returned the car full tank. The receipt that was provided to me on car return didnot indicate any charges nor did they check the fuel tank. - I disputed the charges with my credit card company and these suckers provided the information to CC company that tank was not full when I returned the car even though I have receipt for the gas I filled in that car. BUT, there is no way to prove that the gas was INDEED filled in that car AND these guys are sleazy liars. So, advice: - take a picture or fuel gauge with mileage reading while returning the car. OTHERWISE, you will MOST LIKELY see false charges for fuel later. -OR, just avoid this cheaters den for car rental. I have rented from dollar at other locations and I had no such issues. read more
