Crazy that there are a lot of really low scores. Maybe I was just really lucky. The person was very helpful and friendly at the desk. I pre-purchased when booking, but the person went through the usual song and dance (offering insurance, how I want to return the gas tank, etc.). Standard stuff really. They didn't have the level of car I booked so they upgraded me. Once the paperwork was done they instructed me to head out to the stall and get in the car. Just a really streamlined and easy experience. The vehicle was nice and I was excited to get on the road. The exiting process was standard and easy as well. This airport had easy to follow signs on the return. I cleaned up what I could and got my stuff and left the car along with the keys in the return area. Smooth sailing!

The only reason i give this 3 star is because management fixed the problem quick and easy. i only paid like $230 for collision and deposit. if i were you i WOULD NOT go to front counter, go straight to the managers at the HERTZ office outside. The cars are nice and well kept however.

I initially thought I had booked with Enterprise, but discovered that was not the case. The Budget…read morelot, located directly across from Enterprise, felt noticeably less maintained. It was quite dirty, sparse, and generally unkempt. The counter agent wasn't especially professional and appeared to also serve as the on-site mechanic. Their system felt outdated, as all paperwork that required a signature, including the receipt was printed rather than an option for email, resulting in a very lengthy receipt (Walgreens style!). That said, my rental car itself was clean and performed well with no issues. While the vehicle met my needs, the overall rental experience would lead me to other options in the future.

I'd give them 0 stars or a negative rating if I could. Rented a car at the Indianapolis Airport…read more The rental was fine until I scraped a curb and damaged a tire which went flat overnight. With no spare tire or tire-changing equipment in the trunk, I had to request a tow to a nearby small town. Budget representatives decided the only way to have the tire changed was to have it towed 207 miles to Detroit! This despite there being several good-sized cities nearby. The tow company in the small town agreed that towing it that far was ridiculous and they were able to find a tire locally, changed the tire right there, and I was on my way. When I returned from my trip, I received a bill for $748.40 for towing services and other related fees. I have been trying to resolve it with my insurance and AAA ever since. Today I spent 2 - 3 hours on the phone being stonewalled by one Budget agent after another, until I finally found one who would send me the itemized bill which showed the breakdown of costs including the non-existent 207-mile tow. This was the first I'd heard that I was being charged for something which never happened. I am still in the midst of trying to resolve this situation, but Budget has been a nightmare to deal with. I've never had trouble with them at other rental locations, but then again I've never had an accident with a rental car, no matter how minor. Not sure if it's the Indianapolis airport location or their nation-wide "lack-of-customer service" department. Beware of these shysters!

The rental car pickup and drop-off is just outside of the airport building - no shuttle bus needed... just walk towards the rental car area. TSA was easy to get through. I have TSA Pre-Check with Touchless ID. It was nice to have the separate line for Touchless ID but there was only 1 TSA agent working the Pre-Check and Pre-Check with Touchless ID so it really didn't matter that I had that option. I really liked how their TSA bins had a machine to sort and organize them - very "high tech" as other airports don't have that feature. They have some typical food options you'd find at other airports here, such as Starbucks, McDonald's, Chick Fil-A, etc. The United Airline counter agents were friendly folks. I had no issues here. There are SmarteCarte available for $6.00 if you need it. Picking up checked baggage from Baggage Claim was a breeze. Overall, I was really happy with this airport. It wasn't too crowded and they had decent seats options in the main area between concourse A and B. I especially liked the open air feel with the natural lighting. It just made the space more airy and open.

They're all over the place now, on several continents in a lot of major cities. It's awesome that they have come to Indy, but for the people of Indy that haven't experienced them in other places, let me assure you that the cars are usually better maintained than these Blue Indy ones, and that customer service is usually more reachable. Still, great to have them in Indy... but they need work.

Unfortunately, the service is better in concept than in reality. The concept: belong to a service where you have the use of an electric vehicle you drive yourself to get from point a to point b. Park in a Blue INDY spot and plug in and go about your business. Ready to go home, repeat the same process. The reality is that of the last few cars I've taken, there has been a problem with every single one. Aside from every car I've ever taken being filthy inside, here are just a few of the problems I've had. -Trip 1: Picked up car and something was rubbing against one of the tires. Called the support line and was accused of hitting something. Drove vehicle around the block and plugged back in, charged for trip. Unable to get to destination. Actually got text message 90 minutes after returning car telling me I was still on my trip and had to call back in a second time and argue to avoid being charged. - Trip 2: Another trip, another station. Picked up car and rolled window down. Upon parking, window would not roll back up. Would go about half way and then go back down. Finally got it to go up after fussing with it for several minutes. - Trip 3: Another trip, another station. Accelerating in traffic and car started to stall. Almost scared the @$#% out of me. The concept is good, but they really need a little more TLC (and some window washing fluid) or else they're going to have to start replacing them soon.
