The coordinators' involvement was largely limited to basic setup and following the timeline we created together. When issues arose during the wedding, there was a significant lack of communication and problem solving. For example, there were problems with the gate crash games, and the top layer of our wedding cake went missing. As newlyweds, we were not aware that the top layer of the cake is traditionally saved for the first anniversary. Since the coordinators presented themselves as professionals with experience in wedding traditions, we expected them to provide guidance on important customs like this and ensure meaningful details were not overlooked. Instead, no one informed us that the cake layer was missing or explained its significance, and we only found out afterward. Additionally, the coordinators presented themselves as knowledgeable and experienced in Chinese wedding traditions, which was one of the reasons we trusted them. I specifically wanted my family to be present and able to watch the gate crash games. However, everyone was ushered out, leaving me completely alone in the room when my husband arrived to pick me up. This was extremely disappointing, as sharing this tradition with my family was an important part of the experience. The gate crash games also did not go as intended. While my bridesmaids were responsible for carrying out the games, the coordinators should have stepped in when they noticed things were not following the intended format. Given their claimed expertise in Chinese wedding traditions, they should have been able to recognize when the games were not being conducted properly and provide guidance or correction. During the traditional tea ceremony, the positioning was also handled incredibly poorly. We were placed by the photographer in a way that left our backs completely facing the groom's side of the family, meaning his relatives couldn't see a single thing. This is exactly the kind of situation where the coordinator should have spoken up and adjusted the layout, but instead, they stood by and let a deeply meaningful moment be ruined for half of our guests. During speeches, I made it clear everyone was to stand at their seats when giving speeches. Jeannie told one person to stay at her seat but allowed the other two to come onto the stage. Totally not consistent at all! Made that one person look bad for staying at her seat whereas the others went on stage to give their speech. That person at the seat was more important to me than the other two giving speeches! Yet they were not told to stay at their seats and allowed on stage! We also received multiple complaints from our guests regarding the entertainment: * DJ: The music was poorly managed. Every time I left the room for an outfit change, the music stopped completely, which disrupted the flow and atmosphere of the reception. * MC: While the MC was friendly, they did not help create energy or engagement among our guests. We had specifically requested that important announcements and activities be translated into Chinese for our elderly guests. Instead, the reception games were conducted entirely in English. As a result, many of our older guests did not understand what was happening and were unable to participate, leaving only the younger guests involved. Overall, we were extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, oversight, coordination, and cultural consideration. We expected a much higher level of attention to detail, guidance, and support throughout the event.

We got a Black Friday deal…read morein 2017 for our July 2018 wedding that was supposed to include DJ/MC, photo booth, up lighting, cake light, and GOBO. We added ceremony services as well. And then, our DJ went dark. We finally got in touch with Richard in late February and he told us they were busy with other family business ventures, apologizing for the delay. ....ok..... On Feb. 26, I reached out to start settling details for the GOBO and photo booth templates. On 4/16 we emailed our final decisions for both. We reached out on 6/3 to set up a time to meet and discuss details. That meeting (6/5) was cancelled the day of because Richard had pink eye. We attempted to reschedule that day and got no response. I reached out again on 6/7 and got a response on 6/8 saying he had lost all contacts and texts from his phone. ....ok... We finally met on 6/11. I confirmed with Richard all the songs (I provided a CD with the versions I wanted), as well as a day-of schedule. We confirmed AGAIN the photo booth and GOBO logos we chose. On 7/12 (mind you, the wedding is 7/22), I called and left a voicemail concerned that I had yet to receive a proof for the GOBO or photo booth logo. I got a text back saying they should be ready by the end of the day. Telling me again that he's been "busy with family issues." On 7/15 we confirmed AGAIN the GOBO logo, font, AND correct spelling of my name. On 7/20. TWO DAYS prior to my wedding, at 8:49 PM, I *finally*get the proof. And my name is spelled wrong. Now, *SURPRISE, SURPRISE* it's too late to get it corrected. I'm very angry, but I don't have time for anger. I'm texting Richard at our REHEARSAL DINNER with family as he asks for a decision of a refund of $100 or an extra hour of photo booth time to make up for it. On 7/21, we just agree to have an extra hour of photo booth time. On the day of the ceremony, 7/22, I notice that the song that's supposed to be played during our unity ceremony is not being played at all. *sigh* The photo booth is supposed to take place during cocktail hour as my husband and I are taking our pictures. Per our site coordinator, my day of coordinator, and several guests (including my parents), there was no notification or announcement that the photo booth was available for people to use. Therefore, we have maybe 20 pictures of people using the photo booth. The actual music during the reception. was great. But there were too many holes between the services we paid for and what we received. Of all the vendors we used, I recommended the same photographer, seamstress, and florist to several individuals I knew who were getting married soon. Two are using the same photographer, and a cousin who is getting married next weekend has opted for EVERY vendor I recommended. I could not, and will not, recommend Dance All Night DJ to anyone else. I felt stuck because we paid up front in November and could not afford to lose that money and find another DJ. I don't have a nice way to say this... I don't care about your other business ventures. Although unfortunate, the "family issues" plagued us and made coordination next to impossible.

He did an awesome job being the MC and keeping us on track with our bridal party entrance, first dance, father daughter dance, and all the other events of the night. Richard let us have extra lightning to compensate us for not being able to play at our wedding himself. The lighting was amazing it gave our venue an extra touch of magic. Our playlist was pretty eclectic and John did a great job making it flow and getting the crowd going. John and Cindy were very on top of all communication and super helpful in figuring out tiny details. They jumped in to help us plan a mother-son polka that was a big hit. They even took special care to play certain songs in honor of my parents, who have passed away, at specific points in the night. They also get MASSIVE points for playing the Dropkick Murphys and Sweet Caroline without being asked - my big Boston family loved it! John was even kind enough to help our friends playing the ceremony and cocktail hour with their equipment, and act as an MC throughout the night. We couldn't recommend Dance Syndicate more!

We got married at Cravens Estate with 200 guests. Cravens is (or "was" since we were told ours would be the last wedding there; damn those snobby, rich, complaining neighbors!) a venue where you bring everything yourself -- food, booze, tables, chairs, musicians, servers, etc., so as you can imagine there is quite a bit of coordinating that had to be done. Liz's team met with us several times in the six months leading up to our wedding. We had some minor snafus nailing down meeting dates/times because they were coming from out east and we live close to Santa Monica, but we made it work. Our venue added restrictions seemingly every month thanks to those pesky neighbors, and Liz and Daniel were good about brainstorming workarounds with us. As for the big day, everything went great. They basically took care of everything that we were too busy to check on ourselves, and I'm sure they were running around monitoring details as my wife and I rested/socialized/ate/drank/took pictures. Funny story, we actually had forgotten our ceremony candles, and Daniel took off for the nearest mall about a half hour before our ceremony to get us something that would work and came back all out of breath just in time. The effort was much appreciated. They kept things moving and on schedule but also were able to give us an extra minute or two with a table here or there. I brought a few blank checks to the wedding and used one to extend Liz's team a couple more hours. All in all, I highly recommend their services! The peace of mind alone makes it worth hiring them.

I got married on 10/6/12 at the University of Michigan football stadium (aka the Big House)…read more I'm from california and I knew Liz and Dae Gun were good so I hired them to do my wedding in Michigan. They agreed even though they were unfamiliar with the Michigan territory and our venue. We had to also communicate through skype & google chat. Liz's assistants designed and printed our invitations and programs (a separate addition I paid for). I was very picky/specific with the way I wanted them --- football ticket style invitations and foam finger looking paper programs. Everything came out SOOOO perfectly. They did it in a manner so that it was still classy, feminine and cute yet sporty. They are so talented. People even asked if they could save the invitations and email us their rsvp instead of ripping the ticket stub. As for the wedding coordinating, Liz is very very meticulous. Even my venue and vendors were impressed and commented that they have never seen such an organized and detailed timeline. She wants your wedding to be as perfect as possible. We met via computer 3 times where we went over the timeline and other questions she had for us. She asked questions I would have NEVER thought of. She covers everything from the day before to the end of the night so that you come and leave with everything. I am very impressed with the organization of This Is The Day. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. I didn't know of any problems at all. My husband and I were so stress free. We just did everything they told us to do. Our MC had stage fright and ended up not making the flow as smooth, Dae Gun/Liz stepped up and guided him to make sure the flow of the reception went smoothly. Also, the day of, we found out we had to do the korean ceremony (pae bek). Liz and Dae Gun fit it into the schedule so smoothly. No one knew how to put on the head piece of the hanbok and the male hanbok, but Liz and Dae Gun did. They also guided us through the whole pae bek. They are amazing and obviously very experienced. I report now,…read more4 weeks after the wedding it was INDEED realized, in no small part due to Helen's on-the-job-live-in-real-time work and decision making. I started working with her about 4 months before the wedding date. She helped plan through the phone calls, the needs, the fundamentals, the vendors, and the details. She is very detailed and organized, and sets the correct parameters to create a successful wedding. As with any large project, there was good discussion and of course heated debates. I found this to be helpful in that she wasn't a yes-man or a pushover, and worked diligently to turn our ideas into reality. Another thing that stood out to me was on the day of the wedding, she made some large, key adjustments that in retrospect may have saved the wedding. I won't go into too much detail but she flipped and revamped the layout of the space in real time to adjust to the vibe she was reading from the guests (carrying tables, setting up linens, moving flowers). This gave everyone a place to sit and watch our show and listen to the speeches comfortably, something we didn't know how to make work during the planning sessions.
