I just had my wedding at Pacific Palms with the help of Phyllis and Richard. We had been meeting and preparing for months, and the end result was absolutely fantastic. I love that Phyllis is extremely flexible, and allowed us to customize our wedding to the way we wanted it. My wife and I are Asian, but we also have some western influence, so we wanted a fusion style wedding. Phyllis gave us a lot of advice based on what she knew about Asian cultural traditions, but also gave us a lot of freedom to decide how we wanted to have our wedding. She suggested a sand ceremony, which we ended up adding to our wedding ceremony. Richard is an excellent officiant and emcee, and he provided a lot of entertainment without feeling like he was trying to be center stage. The wedding always focused on us, but Richard kept all the guests entertained and happy. He is also multilingual, which was extremely helpful as we had English, Cantonese, and Mandarin speaking guests. The ceremony went super well, with no issues. We googled, yelped, and asked around for all of the coordinators on the list and found out that Machs Party Studio have tons of positive reviews on yelp and her office is close to where we lived. We met with Phyllis and told her about our budget and our needs. She provided us with all of her expertise and recommendations that made sense. Wow, where do I begin!! Let's start with how amazing Phyllis is! My wife and I decided to go with Phyllis as our wedding officiant primarily due to her being fluent in Mandarin. However, we very quickly realized there's so many more amazing things about Phyllis than just being fluent in Mandarin. Very flexible and wonderful officiants! Originally we had booked with Richard to be our officiant at our wedding. We had been referenced to him in the past by my wife's sister whom also had him as their officiant and they had high praise for him. When we met with Richard, he was very open with us about his role on our wedding, what we needed to bring and have prepared for him, and the general flow of the event. All of this made us much more comfortable with the ceremony portion of our wedding, since we had (at the time) not had very much experience/knowledge about the different styles of ceremonies and what we could customize as part of it. As we got closer to our wedding date, we unexpectedly had to move the time of our ceremony. While Richard was not able to continue being our officiant due to scheduling conflicts, Phyllis was able to step in and she was just as open and professional in helping us get ready for the big day. She provided us with multiple options to how we wanted our ceremony to be performed (we wanted something non-denominational and relatively short, but with personal vows) as well as examples of other couples' personal vows to give us some ideas for when we were creating our own. On the day of the wedding, she came early to meet up with us before the ceremony and to give us a final rundown and make sure we were comfortable with everything. When the ceremony started, Phyllis was amazingly reassuring and performed her duties flawlessly. My wedding was on 9/4/2016 and I found Mach Studios on Yelp and just like most people I cannot be more thankful to Phyllis and her husband. I scheduled an appointment to meet with Phyllis and I was hesitant at first. But somehow my Fiance (at the time) was convinced at what Phyllis presented to us and we just had to book them the day of. We got a package that included DJ services, open air photobooth (with photobook) and day of coordinator. DJ SERVICE: It was really important for me to find a DJ that speaks Chinese at the wedding as we have a tradition to introduce the family in Chinese (and English) of course. They were also very helpful and great on entertainment in general :D. I have never seen my Aunt cry so hard from laughing. DECORATIONS: We got the lighting package for our venue. It was really pretty to have purple lighting lamps that made an elegant pattern around the room. We also got a gobo light with our names and date on the back wall. It was a really nice touch to have that and make it much more elegant. PHOTOBOOTH: The photobooth was really fun. I liked the open air concept because it allowed for people in line and people passing by to the restroom to see what was going on. What I love also was that there was not only a book to put the pictures in but also a web link of ALL the photobooth pictures. That was definitely a nice touch. DAY OF COORDINATION: Phyllis was amazing on the day of and actually she helped me even before the actual day. After our first meeting, we met once more and was able to revise / update the contract when needed. It was also very nice of Phyllis to be able to answer my questions via email and even gave me quotes whenever I asked for it. During our 2nd meeting she really broke everything down with the schedule and how to run the rehearsal. Phyllis even gave enough time for our group to do a quick rehearsal between my tea ceremony and the garden ceremony. There was a lot of little details that I found about later that I didn't know of during the wedding which was taken care of by Phyllis. It was really great to have her around so that the Venue can just communicate with her. Overall we had a lot of support and it was very easy going. Incredibly disappointed in the service provided. We hired Richard with the expectation that he would speak more Chinese at the wedding, but instead of providing the services he offered when we signed him, he mostly spoke English and barely entertained the party. Nothing was discussed before announcements of events and he left fairly early in the night. What kind of master of ceremony doesn't work harder to keep the party rolling? The MC we hired from Mach bridal services. Other reasons for the disappointment? We bought three gifts for three separate games to be played throughout the night, but instead of speaking with the couple about game ideas or at least how many games we would like, he played one dull game with our guests. Most of our guests were left wondering why there weren't more games or at least more interactive games played. Another disappointment? Rather than break up the speeches of the night (we had four total, one from each matron of honor and best men) he had all four people speak consecutively. Who does that? That's just a sure fire way to bore the audience. especially an audience with at least half the guests not fully understanding English. He could've thought better and had just two speak at a time. There was plenty of time throughout the night to space out the speaking events. I would not recommend this service to anyone. I was very disappointed. On the day of the wedding, they arrived very early to set up and get ready for the ceremony and the banquet (which were at different locations). We had some videos and slideshows going and they were willing to help with making sure those ran smoothly. They even stayed half an hour beyond their contract time and didn't even charge us for it (even though it clearly stated on their contract that overtime would be charged $150/hour)!! SOO NICE!!! Last March 29th, I helped planned a party for one of my best friend. It was surprise party for her husband. The guests were mostly Chinese and not all of them are fluent in English. I only had two weeks left before the party when I realized that we needed an emcee that can speak both English and Mandarin and keep the guests entertained. Enter Mach's Party Studio I found them on Yelp and emailed them right away. Phyllis called me that afternoon. She agreed to meet us right away and told me to sent her the program for the party that night. She replied with several recommendations and added helpful details. She has 20 years experience as a Wedding Coordinator and a Planner. She also gave us an awesome Emcee/ Audio Visua/DJ package plus a Photo Booth rental. Richard and Phyllis arrived early that day to set up and Phyllis even helped us out with our dessert display. Needless to say , the whole night went on smoothly without a hitch! Richard is the emcee and handled the night smoothly. Richard brings an energy to the crowd ( do you know how reserved Chinese can be?) and kept everyone involved. I have to say they are a good husband and wife team. I forgot to mention that they even brought their son Kevin to take care of the Photo Booth for the night. Talk about the family business. Phyllis and Richard are the the best. I looked around for a long time for a bilingual wedding planning team for my Chinese-American fusion wedding, and I am so glad I had them as part of our wedding. Phyllis is a very experienced and sophisticated planner. During the planning stage, not only does she listen to my ideas, she would often times surprise me with her opinions and creativities to make my ideas even better. Every vendor she recommends is top notch. Just like other reviewers commented here, as the wedding MC, Richard has the best sense of humor and really knows how to get the crow going. 80% of our guests are our parents' long term friends, so we were really worried that the dance floor was going to look empty and the crowd was going to be too quiet. Richard was able to get almost everyone get up and dance with us. It was a blast and we couldn't have been happier. On our wedding day, Phyllis and Richard went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect, and everybody in their team was super nice and professional. Looking back, I couldn't even imagine how I would have survived this process without their input. If you only read one part of my review, let it be this: do not hesitate to work with Phyllis and Richard for your event! You will be in such good hands. They both have a ton of experience and from the beginning made the entire process simple for us. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the two of them. They are both so professional and easy to work with. Phyllis had an extremely quick response time to all of my calls, texts, and emails. Hiring both Phyllis and Richard to emcee our Chinese wedding reception was hands down one of the best decisions that we made. Weeks after the event, we were still receiving comments from friends and relatives about how fantastic the emcees were. One thing that sets them apart is they were able to emcee the reception in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese with complete fluency, which was necessary for our guests. If I recall correctly, Richard is more comfortable with Cantonese and Phyllis is more comfortable with Mandarin, although they both seemed flawless in communicating in all three languages, which blew me and my fiance away. They had a few games that kept the guests engaged and it was nice to see people getting legitimately excited about participating in the games and winning the prizes. The games were really fun for everyone and didn't involve us doing anything humiliating in front of our friends and family. Phyllis went above and beyond by helping us with the timeline and she and Richard were critical to making sure that the wedding ran smoothly. Phyllis was the ceremony officiant for my wedding on 8/19/2018. She's definitely the one I have to thank the most for the beautiful and smooth ceremony. I went to a couple other bilingual / mandarin and English weddings and no doubt she's the most skilled and professional officiant I've ever seen. Thanks for passing us the vow cards and giving us cues at the ceremony. My guests and family are all impressed at her officianting. It was 90 degree in Fullerton and super humid on that day. It was tough to work but she has been always so patient the entire time. She's super responsive in the planning process as well. This review is based on Mc services, photobooth, DJ and lighting for my wedding. I first met with Phyllis who was very responsive to our questions. She made sure to meet all our needs and goals for the wedding. She is very easy to reach and approachable. For the MC services, Phyllis's husband, Richard was the MC. He was extremely entertaining and assertive. It was extremely helpful as he was able to speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He was able to translate English to Cantonese and Mandarin very efficiently. All my guests were very happy to be informed of all the little instructions at my wedding (parking, centerpiece instructions etc...). I would recommend Richard even to those who just need a plain English speaker. As for the photo-booth, there are no complaints. Great quality and great props. The DJ was also great. You can have your own wedding list songs created on spotify to provide to them to play at the wedding. The lighting they provided also created a perfect environment for the wedding. All in all, this company is a one stop shop. They provide everything from coordinating, photobooth, DJ, MC and lighting. They also provide you a discount when you utilize more of their services. I would easily recommend their services to anyone. They did a great job creating a perfect environment for my wedding. We had our wedding over Thanksgiving weekend. We only hired Mach Party for the MC portion. Richard was great! His team was on time on that day and ran the reception according to the schedule and timeline we set. Richard speaks three languages fluently (Cantonese, Mandarin, English), which is very important for us since my side speaks Cantonese and my wife is from Taiwan. Both Phyllis and Richard are very responsive. We met Richard in person twice and had one phone call prior to the wedding to set the plans and schedule. This is the key, communications. You have to make sure to tell him what you want and how much time you want to spend on each activity. He will provide you ideas and feedback, but you make the ultimate decision. read more

Highly recommended! Read my personal story below :P I met Richard at a friend's wedding, and his sense of humor made the whole reception environment fun and unforgettable. A year later, my boyfriend proposed to me and we decided to get married in 2 months without knowing what it takes to plan a wedding. And i simply wanted to do the planning on my own to meet all my expectations. Then I thought of Richard, and wanted to hire him to be my MC. I found their info and contracted them to be my MC and DJ. I honestly did not expect much beside what i paid for, to my surprise, phyllis initiated so many conversations to make sure i'm on the right page, making sure i have all the rundown schedule correct, giving me so much info+comments+suggestions+recommendations for my wedding. She gave me so much help when i was "LOST" in the mist of 2 month wedding planning. She is definitely on top of things when it comes to wedding planning. Phyllis and Richard are also very nice in person :) They made a perfect couple! On my wedding day, i had no regret hiring Richard because he made the whole reception environment so fun! 80% of my guests got up and danced around the room following his lead towards the end of reception, it has definitely made our wedding day so unforgettable! One small note, i recommend listening to DJ's main songs beforehand to make sure the songs are the correct versions if you are going to hire their DJ. I went to my friend's wedding last year and they hired Phyllis and Richard as their wedding planner & MC. I felt it was a very happy wedding and thought if one day I'm getting married, I would want to have a happy wedding too! Phyllis & Richard did not disappoint us. We had a wonderful experience working with Phyllis and her team at MPS Events! Phyllis was our officiant and coordinator while Richard was our MC. Phyllis was so organized and was on top of things. Even though she was our day of coordinator, she was constantly checking in throughout the planning stages and answered all our questions. We were set on a vision of our wedding and trusted the advice and opinions she had. They are bilingual in both English and Chinese and really helped us a lot with the organization and timeline of the wedding. We were both so grateful for them especially at the end of the night. We also recommend that a rehearsal be done beforehand because things can get pretty hectic the day of the wedding. Phyllis and her team are so talented in many ways. WOW!! Richard and his team were the best! Exceeded our expectations in everyway possible! He is a very experienced MC and was great in blending in a multicultural wedding reception. He has a very fun and confident personality, delivered on all aspects of the reception that we went over before the event, and went above and beyond! He kept the reception fun and inclusive, and his humor and personality just shines through! I spoke to many guests of the wedding and they were thoroughly impressed with Richard, even calling him the "Dog Whisperer" of wedding MCs with how great he was able to get the crowd involved with all the events of the evening! Phyllis and her team at Mach's Party Studio are absolutely AMAZING!! My husband and I had our wedding at hotel seven4one down in laguna beach. My husband and I are of Taiwanese descent and needed someone fluent in both English and Mandarin to officiate and DJ/Emcee our wedding! This particular venue has a preferred vendor list and we had the hardest time finding the right officiant and DJ/Emcee. To be quite honest, I was hesitant on finding a bilingual officiant/Emcee because I was afraid that whoever we found would be fluent in Mandarin but not as proficient in English. LUCKILY FOR ME, we found Phyllis at Mach's party studio!! Phyllis is very talented, she is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She officiated and was the Emcee for our wedding and was able to incorporate both languages so all of our guests could understand what was going on. She was also able to make sure the ceremony/reception flowed without being repetitive in both languages. Working with Phyllis at Mach's party studio is so easy. She can communicate via email, text, phone, in person. She is very approachable and easy to talk to. She responds to emails very quickly and is able to work with you effortlessly. We met with Phyllis twice in person at their office, its a nice office space located in a business plaza off of Diamond Bar Blvd. During our visits, we were able to discuss our vision for the ceremony officiating and also how we wanted our reception to be. Phyllis is respectful of your wishes and wants to provide the best services to fit your needs. My husband and I opted for a simple vow exchange and she prepared it for us. She also offered to help us with our sand ceremony and presentation of a gift to our families. (She did that part in mandarin and it made it so much more meaningful as both our parents are fluent in mandarin!) During the reception, Phyllis was also able to incorporate fun games to make sure guests didn't get bored in the event there wasn't much dancing going on. We had to provide the prizes ourselves (which isn't a big deal at all!) but having those games really made the event much more fun and memorable. During that time, we got to relax and watch our guests have a fun time. I don't want to spoil the games by telling you what they are -- we didn't know what games would be played and it was such a fun surprise! The DJ service was great. They are able to play whatever songs you would like as long as you let them know ahead of time! They can also accommodate requests as long as the place you are at has internet they can use. Mach's party studio offers much more services than just officiating and DJ/emcee such as wedding planning, photo booth, etc. We already had a wedding planner so we didn't get to utilize this service. BUT, I would like to point out that even though we just used them for these services, they were still really easy to work with and they were able to coordinate with our planner and venue as well!! Overall, we had a GREAT experience and would definitely use Mach's party studio for any future events!! read more
