I live in a townhouse, and was experiencing respiratory problems (burning throat and eyes, chronic sinus congestion, etc.). To make matters worse, I have a neighbor who is a heavy smoker, and I was getting a lot of second-hand cigarette smoke drifting into my townhouse. Tom completely overhauled my HVAC system. After a couple years, I noticed a slight deterioration in the air quality in my home. I had flooding in my basement this spring (2019) from the quick melt, but slow ground thaw. I immediately had mold problems. Enviroworld USA had helped us with a similar mold problem 18 years earlier (because of fish tanks and no ventilation). They came out both times, accurately assessed the work needed to be done to correct the problem and offered a fair quote for the work. The ductwork was inspected and found filthy even though I had hired a company to clean it just 3 months earlier - Tom thoroughly cleaned it, but the remodel that he did for me ensures I'll never have to have it cleaned again. Prior to the work my youngest son was constantly sick (coughing all the time, coming down with the flu, congested, etc). Since the remodel of the HVAC system he has been much healthier. The air in my house now SMELLS clean! I also notice significant improvement in air flow, while at the same time noting the quietness of the equipment (he also replaced my furnace motor with a high efficiency ECM motor) and tuned up my whole system to run with maximum efficiency without sacrificing the quiet. As an architect and I wanted to work with someone who was able to work with me on my remodeling project to find the best solution for installing a new furnace and associated ductwork re-design associated with my basement gut and remodel project. Tom's passion for his work was evident from the beginning, and the results of his work far exceeded my expectations. Tom is an absolute expert in heating and cooling (HVAC). Not only does he respond quickly and get you up and running, but he does it right. He's very good at explaining how these systems work and how he can make it work better and more efficiently. Over the years we've had multiple service companies come out to our house and nobody ever made the suggestions he did. Our energy bills are now lower and temperatures around the whole house are much more consistent with less humidity. He also does commercial work. We met him because he was brought in to fix HVAC problems in our office building. The landlord had the same experience we did. Tom did things other vendors never suggested and now everything works right. I can't say enough good things about Tom. I am taking the time to write this review because I'd really like to give him more of my business but since I am all set, the only thing I can do is try to help him bring in some new business. We hired Tom to help with heating our two-story house - since we moved in August we noticed a lot of inconsistencies with airflow and temperatures on each level of our home. Tom was able to figure out the issues within 30 minutes of being at our house. After very careful planning he redid our old, dirty 1962 duct work, installed a humidifier and added the biggest filter I've ever seen. Owner was more concerned about selling a new furnace than repairing the existing one which is only 10 years old. He did not want to be bothered with repair. Which is sad since we have an infant in the house. My husband was not home at the time and he treated me as if i was stupid. Had another company come out and fix it within an hour.
