I have seen a positive difference in my granddaughter throughout the year with her self-esteem. We were able to have a complimentary try-out to see if our granddaughter would like it. In addition, Jersey All-Star Gymnastics (JAGS) usually have open-gym on Friday nights with qualified coaches on the floor. This is helpful too and the kids love it! The gym is very clean. She explained that he had been distracted, talking about his personal life with another coach instead of paying attention to the students. When she and her friend, who had just signed up for classes, began playing, he removed them from the class. What concerned me most was that both girls said he used inappropriate language, telling them, "You think it's 'F' cutesy what you're doing." This is completely unacceptable when speaking to children. When I spoke with him directly, he confirmed what happened and apologized. The manager also offered to move my daughter to a different schedule. While I appreciate the apology and attempt to resolve the situation, the damage was already done. I no longer feel comfortable trusting this facility with my child. Supervision, professionalism, and respectful communication are the bare minimum when working with kids, and this experience did not meet those standards. The only reason I am giving 1 star is that Ms. Porcha, who coached my daughter for nearly four years, was wonderful and consistently provided a safe, positive environment.
