My son's wedding was coming up and I wanted nice nails. I never had my nails done before and I was fed up with having short brittle nails. I decided on Acrylic nails as they are more sturdy than just gel. I was pleasantly surprised as Cindy did beautiful French nails for me. They weren't too long so I could get used to them. I felt so special and they looked beautiful on my son's wedding day. When the shop moved to it's current location, I followed (of course) and have been seeing Cindy and some of the other girls too. Staff was efficient and thorough with the pedicure. Relaxing music was playing in the background. I sat in the massage chair the whole time with the chair massaging my back. Place was clean! It looked like staff had clean nail utensils for each client. Price was very reasonable for $35. I paid $10 extra for a paraffin treatment. The staff wrapped each foot in a bag filled with wax. I appreciate how sanitary that was. I have been to places where there is a pot of warm wax that multiple clients dip their hands and feet in. My only complaint is that staff were busy talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese even when they were working on clients. I know it makes passing the time faster, but it would have been more professional to not socialize in a different language in front of customers. I personally do not care too much as long as I get my nails done and not catch an infection.

I even pulled my hand away and directly asked her to stop. She apologized once, but then went back to the same comments again -- at least five times in the span of 30 minutes. The whole appointment was filled with these cheap remarks and racially insensitive comments, and I left feeling disrespected and very uncomfortable. I understand Canada is facing challenges with racism, but we overcome that by treating each other with respect and kindness. What disturbed me the most was that no one in the salon stepped in to stop this behavior. This was unacceptable, and I will never return. I hope management takes this seriously so no one else has to go through the same.
