I came here as it was opened on Sunday and wanted to treat myself to a relaxing pedicure. Service was great. I did not have to wait for an appointment. Staff was efficient and thorough with the pedicure. Relaxing music was playing in the background. I sat in the massage chair the whole time with the chair massaging my back. Place was clean! It looked like staff had clean nail utensils for each client. Price was very reasonable for $35. I paid $10 extra for a paraffin treatment. The staff wrapped each foot in a bag filled with wax. I appreciate how sanitary that was. I have been to places where there is a pot of warm wax that multiple clients dip their hands and feet in. My only complaint is that staff were busy talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese even when they were working on clients. I know it makes passing the time faster, but it would have been more professional to not socialize in a different language in front of customers. I personally do not care too much as long as I get my nails done and not catch an infection. read more

A great treat! Got acrylics done with a friend for grad, wanting to match my dress. I had called ahead to make an appointment but still had to wait for the technicians to finish up with a previous client (no biggie), and I was given colour swatches to decide from while I was waiting. I found the perfect colour and the ladies at Ethereal were happy to listen to any design ideas I had (nail shape, sparkle tips, ect). They were super gentle the entire time and my nails look fabulous! I got so many complements on them! The quality is spectacular for only $52 and as someone who never has gotten acrylics before, I am definitely converted from simple manicures and will be back! read more

I have been going to this nail studio since it opened and now all of my three grown up daughters and grandchildren go. I wanted to book my pedicure and was told I needed to wear a mask. I said I cant as I have a medical issue. They did not offer me an option. I have toes that can get ingrown so either here or a medical issue to see a specialist. I have been getting my nails done at ETHEREAL NAILS for several years now. They have lost my business now. The girl (Hana) that did my nails this "LAST TIME" was VERY IMPATIENT AND VERY ROUGH as well as EXTREMELY " RUDE " I'm quite certain that I'm not the only person who finds the women talking to each other in their language, can be RUDE as well as insulting. And disrespectful. For instance... the employee doing my nails was talking to another employee regarding my nails. She's a very sweet girl ... The one talking to my nail girl ... She was concerned and was standing next to me. They were discussing "ME"... And my nails of course. Laughing. The conversation between the two went on & on .... Finally I lost it and said... I don't mean to be RUDE but you are discussing me & my nails ... You can speak English ... Please let me in on what's going on here. What's the problem. Anyways... It's a real shame. When my fave WR place was closed, I thought that I'd give Ethereal a try and I'm sure glad that I did! Not sure how long they've been around, but they are large, clean, airy, bright and wonderful. Since we walked in on a relatively quiet weekday, we were seated in no time at all. I received the $28 Wed. pedi special, but for a mani-pedi combo I would have received the standard price of $45. Kids were around $20 for both which seemed like a good deal for me, especially when bringing an extremely energetic yet excited girl! They even decorated her toes with two little flowers and what an extra score that was! They spent a lot of time with my little friend and me. Even when she smudged her nails at least three times ('cuz how can you ask a 6 year old to sit still for long, really?) they were incredibly kind and helpful. I was so impressed that I decided to overlook her slightly smudged toes. There were some magazines but most were old, although I didn't have a lot of time to read when trying to entertain. The polishes were all trendy OPI, but some of those appeared slightly old, too. They had many new ones for sale, though. I'd like to return before I give them a solid five, but once again, WR has demonstrated that they are surpassing the city with nail salons, so Vancouver really needs to step it up. 4.5 stars all in all! read more

I've gone to other places yet I keep coming back to Etherial! Why? I've found that polish on toes will last for weeks with out so much as a chip. Proof again as I just returned from a 9 day vacation ...walking, walking, walking in open toe shoes and dry weather.... Polish is still perfect. I have been a handful of times for mani/pedi and really like it, however, I went for a massage and the women that did it, talked on her bluetooth for the first 15 minutes! Yes, I should have said something however I thought she would stop but it kept going and I was there to relax, not confront someone for being rude. If she hadn't talked on her phone the massage would have been good. read more

I specifically told them it's my wedding nails and she still rushed to get the shellac mani done and it wasn't busy. The polish was applied terribly! The only reason I got my nails done here and not by my nail tech is because I'm from out of town. My bridesmaid also got her nails done and it was by far the worst French manicure we have ever seen. The polish was applied so thick and the lines were crooked. To top it off it was done in shellac and she already took 2 hours to do it so we couldn't wait to get it done again. I myself learned how to do nails so I am a bit more picky. However, this was the worst job I've ever encountered. Please do not let your nail techs work on clients if they can't do a good job. read more

The prices on their website are incorrect and when u tried to mention that to them when paying, they called the owner of the store and she yelled at me over the phone on speaker for the whole salon to hear, making me feel like an absolute idiot. The service was poor considering they spoke very little English. She hurried through my appointment so she could leave for her lunch break therefor doing a quick unsatisfying job. One of my nails was attached to my skin underneath it. She redid I one of my nail 3 times and didn't tell me what was going on. It was a silent awkward hour. Went to this place with my sister. I had the owner work on my pedicure and my sister had another worker. I felt like the work was inconsistent especially since they were working side by side. Owner kept getting interrupted. I felt like my sister had a really good massage and mine was maybe 20 seconds long. Not a fan at all of the pedi I received. The end result was ok not great or nice -kinda looked like I painted my own nails. It looks clean and nice in there. It was weird tho because no one talks to you. Yeah... I see a lot of other people have had great experiences here. I for one, did not. I asked for a manicure/pedicure, and really only left with a mediocre pedicure. I had to stop the girl (who I believe was the manager or owner of the salon) doing the manicure mid-way because my nails were being destroyed. Backstory: I had shellac-polish on my nails to begin with, so had to have that removed by soaking it in tinfoil. The lady who did the removal told me that if I got shellac-polish again that she wouldn't charge me for taking off the polish, but if I did a regular manicure she would charge me 5$. I said, ok, I only wanted the regular polish so I'd pay her 5$ to get the gel taken off properly (technically something I could do at home but had forgotten to do beforehand)-- but then she only put a tiny bit of acetone on the cotton that was wrapped on my finger... When she came back to scrape off the nail polish with a metal nail instrument, the polish was barely coming off because it had not been soaked long enough and did not have enough acetone on it. Since it wasn't working like it was supposed to she began picking the polish off with her own fingers/fake nails. She could have just put more acetone on the cotton pad and left my fingers to soak longer, but instead she got lazy and started using her own fingers. It was super strange, and nothing I've ever experienced at a nail salon before. It was actually hurting my fingers having her be so aggressive, and nothing was coming off properly so I asked her to just finish taking off the gel polish and that I no longer wanted the manicure (I was honestly tired of having her manhandle my fingers and ruin my nails). I came into the store with long, strong and healthy nails and left with cracking, flimsy and boyish looking nails (with some residual shellac polish). She ended up leaving my nails with pieces of gel polish still on them and I still paid the $5.00. My toes looked pretty good as it was a different girl doing them, but a couple weeks later the bottoms of my feet started to get sore, and I noticed that I had 3 warts on them (gross!). I could be correlating the two events, but I can't think of any other place I could have gotten them from. Sorry, but there are so many other nail places in white rock/south surrey that I would never think to go back to this one again, nor will I ever recommend anyone else go there. I would say stay away and go get better service at one of the other 20 nail salons in the area instead. read more

I have been coming here for years and have loved it. The past two times however, have not been good. In September, I came in for a pedicure and ended up with a small infection. I figured it was a one off and came back in November. I now have another very bad infection in my big toe and am on antibiotics. While the owner was working on it i kept telling her she was hurting me and pulled my foot away. I mentioned what had happened the previous time and she shrugged it off and let me know it happens. I will no longer be coming back here as the pain I am in makes it hard to walk. read more

My girlfriend and I went in for a fill on acrylic nails. They took her and I straight away, as they weren't busy. The manager took the polish off my nails (while chatting to her coworker in a foreign language) and got up from her station to attend to another client who had just walked in the door, leaving me alone for 45 minutes to an hour without a word. NO COMMUNICATION from the MANAGER of this establishment. Something that should have taken an hour took twice as long because I had to wait for the girl to finish my friend's nails then finish the half-assed job the manager left for her!! At the end she finally came back to me but didn't even speak, just demanded payment! After calming down, I went back to explain how I was upset with her service and didn't think it was very professional of her to get up in the middle of a treatment and not return or explain herself. She didn't even acknowledge her unprofessional behaviour and refused to compensate me in any way. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE from the manager. I took me awhile I find a new nail place I loved when I moved here. This is it! I've been going here for 2 years and I'm happy every time.

I will not be going back to this salon. I have had many pedicures in the last few years and this is the first time I have not been able to walk bare foot. My technician made my cuticles bleed, my heels are so sore and cracked from from the filing. My feet and heels are normally soft playable. I tried to say slow down and not be so hard on my feet but I guess the language did not get thru. Yes it was nice and clean but I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

My new favorite nail salon! I tried the Ethereal because my usual salon isn't open Sundays, but I will keep coming back because of the fantastic service! Eva and Piper looked after my daughter and myself and both very friendly and professional. The owner of the nail salon was present and she greeted us and had us seated efficiently. The salon is bright and airy and appears clean. We didn't feel like just another pair of feet, as is the case in some other salons. All in all, a great experience. read more

Had a mani - pedi here a week and a half ago. As I usually had my nails done in Richmond the fact that they talk to each other in Vietnamese was not a problem. My manicure was simple and very good. The pedicure however really hurt and my toes were bleeding she cut the sides so low. Now a week and a half later my toes are infected and very sore, needed to get antibiotics as I am travelling to China next week. Will not return to this shop. read more

While the service was quick and reasonably priced, I found that the conversation was non-existant and they didn't do the greatest job. There was nail polish my companion's fingers after the manicure and the woman who was doing mine went to get coffee while my nails were drying and I was still sitting there without a word to me. Next to my companion one of the ladies working there sat down and began to do her own nails, without laying out the second towel as they did for evey client. After she finished using the tools she placed them back in the drawer without cleaning them. We went here because we had heard that they were very clean, thus we found this discouraging. When it comes to the selection of nail colour their selection is along the wall and can reach a point when it is difficult to see the colours clearly. read more

The most dirty place. I went over there and sit on a spa chair. I look to my left to the small area where their nail tech wash clipper, file, and buffer. I saw all used clipper, file, buffer.... Etc. The tool was unsnitized and reused to everyone. I was scared of getting fungus. I asked them about the sanitation process. They was lying about the tool using for me. I saw them used all that tool for another customer and they bring it in that sink just left to the spa chair. They just clean it with water. I did stop the nail tech and refuse the serive. I will never come to this place again. Their reputation are not real. The tools are not sanitize. Fungus, staph infection . Be Aware. read more
