Decided for a local blow out instead of dry bar down the street. Overall a decent experience. The lady who did my blow out was very friendly and personable. My end result was good. My only complaint is the service seemed rushed(not in a aggravated or annoyed way) My blow outs typically take minimum of 35 minutes. From first greet to walking up to the counter time was 27 minutes. I would have really enjoyed a longer wash, less rough drying and sectioning my hair prior to waves read more

Came here last Saturday for an 8am blowout before my graduation shoot. It was pouring and humid. I have naturally curly hair (3B curls but I teased out my hair in the first pic), so it takes a little longer to blow out my curls in a way that ensures they don't frizz in humidity. BUT MIA DID SUCH A PHENOMENAL JOB!!! The bounce in my curls lasted a good 4 days even after working out two of those days. I honestly have never had a better blowout and this is my fifth state I've lived in. It was my first time with her, so I had no idea how it would go but she knocked it out of the park I cannot recommend this salon enough. read more

First, let me start off by saying that I really did not want to have to write this bad review. Despite being bullied and receiving poor customer service, I gave my stylist and the salon manager 3 tries to resolve the situation. This is unfortunate because, I think my hairstylist, Mia, was a brilliant hair cutter. I have searched for someone like her for 3 years in Boston and am very sad that I don't feel comfortable going back anymore. I had to write this review, so people would know how this salon can treat customers and that they be warned before seeing Mia for color. The story begins when I wanted to change things up and add some dimension to my light brown undyed hair and Mia shared that she also does color. I made an appointment and showed up with a picture of something I really liked like that was basically heavy highlights on the bottom 1/3 of the hair. She got to work and made me feel really comfortable along the way, explaining what she was doing, so I didn't think to worry or second guess her work. By the time that it was washed out, the bottom 1/2-2/3's of my hair was a very brassy orange AGGRESSIVE ombre. I was starting to feel a bit nervous, but I thought I probably just needed to see it at home to get used to it. After the appointment I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and almost burst into tears at how awful it looked. I wasn't far from the salon, so I made my way back to say that I was unhappy with the color and mentioned that it was very intense and not what I asked for. Mia promptly sat me down and added a toner to the color which she said would help adjust the color that was so blaringly bad to me. The toner was applied and it didn't do much, and I think Mia could sense that I was not happy, and asked me to come again to fix things when I was ready. I was really unhappy, but I was also exhausted with the situation and hoped that I would like it (even though my wallet did not). Fast forward 4 weeks, which happened to be a 5 days before my engagement party in California. I did not grow to like the heavy handed ombre and wanted to look like myself in pictures and revert my color back to my natural look. I figured that since Mia knew I was unhappy the first time, that she would do everything in her power to make sure that I loved the new color. She recommended that I color my hair semi permanent all over one shade darker. I wasn't in love with the idea of dying all my hair, but it didn't seem like there was any other option available so I trusted her. Mia applied the color and washed it out and started to dry some sections to see the color. I wasn't sure if it was the lights in the salon, but it looked DARK. My hair is typically called a strawberry blonde or light brown and it looked like a very dark brown. I wasn't really sure what to think and didn't want to freak out before I had to see it in normal light (and I had a plane to catch later that afternoon) so I paid and left. Once I got home, I was able to confirm that my hair was indeed nearly black. HOW does one shade lighter from light brown mean dark brown/almost black? I was horrified. The reason I had gone to get my hair fixed was to look like myself and now I looked like an entirely different person, with only a few days to fix things before the party. The next day I called the salon, to share my story with the manager and ask for a refund since I would be unable to go to that salon to have it fixed. I mentioned that I felt awful calling, since I like Mia so much, but that this was the second time that I was disappointed with the color and that being told one shade darker took me from light brown to almost black. The manager (male) listened to my story, then said "there are two sides to every story" and said he'd call me the next day after he spoke to Mia. I was really shocked that he would say something like this being in the customer service industry, but thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to resolve the situation. The very next day I got a call from Mia, the last person I'd want to talk to regarding this situation until it was resolved. She asked me why I didn't tell her that I didn't like it and to send her some pictures, to which she replied that it looked way darker in the picture than it did in the salon (ummmm, why don't you tell me how this happened!?). The whole exchange with her made me feel very uncomfortable and it was super unprofessional to be bullied over text message as to why I didn't go back for her to fix it. Then I waited to hear from the manager. Nothing. Called and left one message for the manager. Nothing. A few days later, I text Mia and she said he was very busy and would get back to me soon. More time passes, leave another message for the manager. Nothing. A few days for by, text Mia again for help to get an answer from them--radio silence. I'm really shocked at the situation and disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. read more

Came here on the recommendation of my friend. It's a bit hard to find at first - you have to look up, since they're on the second floor. Interior is clean and simple, with some drinks and magazines in the waiting room. I made an appointment pretty last minute, and they were able to put me into a slot about an hour after I called. They didn't seem very busy when I went (after work on a Wednesday) but definitely make an appointment. I had Shaylene (?) who was very nice, and totally got what I was asking even though I wasn't great at expressing myself and came with no pictures or visuals. The haircut was quick and she was very thorough, and I'm really happy with the results. The entire experience was very straightforward. A lot of times, when I have a really good experience, there isn't much to say. Staff was nice and professional, and the interior was clean and minimalist. Had a great experience and would absolutely recommend Enzo's to everyone I know. Only thing I didn't like is that they sent me a bunch of emails after I got my haircut, but that can be overlooked right now because I'm just so happy with my cut. read more

If you have curly hair, do not come to this salon. I am sure they are good when it comes to straight and wavy hair, but from my personal experience I do not believe they're good with curly hair. I have 3B curls and I went in for a curly cut with Nadia on Wednesday, Oct 26. I've tried different variations of haircuts, and while the length of the cut I received wasn't ideal, hair grows back. The true problem is that cut that I received damaged my natural hair. The layering of the hair was uneven to the point that my hair began to mat when I tried to style it, which has never happened to my curls after a haircut. There were parts of my hair that were thinned out, which was not something that I requested or knew that my stylist was going to do. I left the salon with more damage in my hair then when I came in, and I did not realize the extent of this damage until I attempted to do my own hair the following day and got a second opinion from another hair stylist on Friday Oct 28. Another stylist then had to go in to correct the damage by trimming split ends, and fixing my hair so that my curls would no longer mat. The initial haircut I received from Nadia damaged my hair and it should not have happened. I then reached out to the salon that same Friday afternoon to express my discontent and the receptionist stated he would let the owners of the salon and Nadia know and that someone would reach out shortly to speak with me about the issues. It is now Wednesday and I have not heard any communication from the salon. I have held off in writing this review as the last thing I hope to do is come and bash a salon. However, I felt the need to share my curly haircut and customer service experience so that others do not make the same mistake as me. read more

I've been here about 5 times or so... The best experiences I had so far was with Shalyn who did a wonderful job with my long hair. Would definitely recommend her. I rushed to get to my 9:00am appointment for a cut and color (early for a Saturday morning but the only time available). I moved out of state and although I do not get my hair done often, I like quality and am willing to pay for it, and nothing beats EnZo. I had to wait a few minutes for my stylist, Nadia, but parking can be crazy around newberry street and she made up for it by making me look fabulous, serving me peach ginger tea and spending extra time with me at the end. I wanted to do an ombré and use my natural color, a mousy brown riddled with grays as a base. Nadia asked to see photos of what I had in mind, and suggested I deepen the base to bring out my features. Since I have seen her before and loved my hair everytime, I trust her judgement. I'm not sure if it was upselling or just a good eye for color, or both, but I'm glad she didn't just do what I originally wanted because it would not have looked as good. It is a family run business. Nadia and her brother are warm and hospitable. I felt at home despite it being a rather fancy salon. I forgot cash and was told they only accept cash tips, so I had to run to the ATM and come back to leave a tip. I will definitely be back next time I'm in bean town, and really don't want to go see anyone anywhere else. . . ever. Very pleased with my new dew! read more

I don't ever write Yelp reviews but this was an unfortunate circumstance. I went in for a blowout for a special event I had that night. My usual places were all booked so I randomly found this and decided to test it out. When the hairdresser took me to the wash station, the station hadn't even been cleaned in the slightest. There was still a lot of soap and hair everywhere from the previous client in the sink. The blowout itself felt extremely rushed and I left looking terrible. It looked as if no one even touched my hair and I just woke up like that. My friend also got her hair blown out and curled and her curls lasted a total of 10 minutes when she was promised they would last hours. I luckily was able to find another salon who took me last minute and they were able to fix it- but this was such a waste of money. Additionally, the hair dresser next to me kept blow drying the hair off the floor and it kept getting on me? It was disgusting. I will not be back. read more

Everyone I come in contact with at the salon is kind, friendly and always happy. They all know how to cut, color, and style. I just had the worst haircut from this salon from Enzo. I now look like a 1980's punk rocker. There was not an option to give zero or negative stars, otherwise I would have. I went to this salon because I was duped into a coupon deal with bloomspot -- also if you want to use coupons ONLY use Gilt Groupe or Groupon, the rest end up scamming you as this one did. With this coupon I could only get my hair cut by people that charge $95! Anyway, my hair is perfectly straight. I mean, perfectly straight. I explained to Enzo before he started cutting all my hair off that I wanted to keep the length and that I do not use ANY products. These were apparently very difficult directions. Before we got started he suggested to add body to my hair. I was completely unaware that this meant that he should thin my hair to nothingness and cut excessively short layers at the top so that I can look like I have a long mullet (I know, very attractive). So now I look like I was trapped in the 1980s. And since I like to stay warm and wear a hat now when I get to work I look like I had portions of my head ironed. It is really terrible and feel embarrassed to walk around in public. I have had my hair cut all over the US and in different countries. And this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I didn't know that it was possible to leave a salon crying -- especially one that charges such excessive rates. The only thing that saves this uptight, pretentious, cold salon is the ray of talented sunshine they call Gosia. She gets a FIVE STAR review. I was recommended to the stylist (note, NOT particularly the salon) by a really nice girl with curly hair at Origins in Harvard Square. I'm new to the area and quite picky because I used to manage a salon in Florida, so I'm used to the best services for free, but I know the cost of a good hairstyle. The prices were wonderful, a practical $50 with 10% off for a first time recommendation. And remember, it's your HAIR people! you wear it everyday! Unfortunately there were no assistants to shampoo when I went, I'm not sure if this is normal, and although it's nice to not have an extra person to tip, it could potentially slow things down sometimes, and it takes away from the friendliness. The girl at the desk was no welcoming committee, but she did her job. The men in the salon looked like they were all related, and all too good to talk to someone who did not come complete with blonde hair, a designer handbag and fake boobs. The guy next to the chair I was in did say a couple things... his client was not talking at all and I would have gladly loved to engage in conversation more, it is a salon after all, you know, an unofficial shrink office :) Sadly the cold European, slightly stuck up feel wasn't doin' it for me. I had originally made appointment for three blow drys at Hairo (sister salon) since we arrived five minutes late to our appointment they told me I had to go next door to Enzo for my dry and curl. My hair stylist was Gosia (not sure on spelling) who was fabulous! She did the longest shampoo wash a great blow dry added tons of volume and great waves. I definitely recommend the salon and especially Gosia to anyone looking to get their hair done! My only complaint is Hairo was supposed to be $35 and since they couldn't accommodate me they said it would be five dollars extra to go to this salon. I have, um, UNRULY hair. It's someplace between wavy and curly, and it's thick enough for two heads at least. But somehow, Romina at Enzo has the magic touch. I was a walk-in about 8 months ago, and my hair had been positively butchered by another hairdresser. Romina spent 2 hours painstakingly fixing it, strand by strand, and she's stuck by me ever since. I've never had a bad experience with her, and she is careful, meticulous, and a good conversationalist to boot. She's done everything for me from straight looks to fringe looks to color, and I've always been happy with the results. I come out of there feeling like she really, really wants me to look good. Plus, her cut only costs $40. I mean, $40! AND...she cuts my bangs for free. That's right. For free (as long as I book with her again). How can you pass that up? read more

They say the hair is the crowning jewel blahblahblah. Well, my hair is a the mane of a horse. (a thick jungle of long, wavy and curly hair - the type people look at and shrug and say: well, you won't be bald when you are old) But I am Most Proud of my mane when I walk out of ENZO. Two ladies, Gosia and Romina, have known and tamed my hair, every time. They both have sat down with me to "talk about my hair". They touch it, marvel that a petite one like me could have such a mane, (let's just keep calling it that) and then get to work. The cut takes a while, it is painstaking because they are paying attention to how my hair falls, the shape, how it might look when it's dry. All of this matters.. and they have made some great recommendations to care and style my hair. My only wish is that they could do intense hair treatments on site. That would be really nice. While everything is going on, they have Sirius Satellite radio playing. It is ESSENTIAL to have good music when the crown jewel is being styled. After they are done with me, I walk out of Enzo looking pretty damn extraordinary. The price? $60. For my hair it is WORTH it. Thank you Enzo ladies!! read more

I am writing this review two months after the fact, but better late than never! I came here with a Gilt City voucher for a foil, cut, and blow dry and saw Gosia. Gosia was so sweet and wonderful and my hair looked amazing!!! Gosia is also the only hair stylist I've ever been to who knew how to style my bangs correctly, most hair dressers awkwardly blow dry them to the side and I have to go home, wet them, and re-dry them! I can't wait to go back and see her again, but as I am a teacher with limited funds I can't go very often :-( Hopefully they'll do another deal soon! Just moved to Boston from Miami in June and have been in desperate need for a new hairdresser. I am so happy I stumbled upon this place! I am extremely picky about who dyes my hair for balayage or highlights, but I'm glad I took a chance here with Shannon. I found her instagram through some hashtag searches in the Boston area and scheduled the appointment online only 3 days ago. I arrived a few minutes before 6pm and I was taken care of immediately (I didn't wait a minute past 6). Shannon asked me what I wanted and gave me some awesome recommendations after showing her some pictures of what I wanted. She also gave me some recommendations for future visits if I'm ever looking into something different... She took her time and was a great conversation. I ended up getting color (balayage/highlight mix) and a blow-dry with style. The color came out amazing and the styling was the perfect touch. The price was also right for what I'm used to in previous visits at home in Miami. I highly recommend this spot and I highly recommend Shannon. Can't wait to be back in a few months! read more

One: I live in Somerville and hate the idea that I even go to a salon on Newbury Street, it's a hassle to get there and they never seem to answer the phone when you want to make an appointment. Two ( or other star): Their haircuts are $60, Gosha's just went up, I paid $50 for my first because I was referred by a friend. The atmosphere is okay, not very personal, and the other girls besides Gosha have very a painted-makeup, tucked in shirt, high boot thing going on- a little to uptight for me. Gosha did a great job on me, giving me suggestions and gave me a cut that did grow out looking great. Like I said though, its just too far for a busy girl like me. read more

It is not a spa (like say, Emerge) and I didn't feel like they should be charging those kind of prices for that type of environment. My boyfriend really liked it, and it was what i asked for. But, it doesn't seem to be working with my hair. I want to try Nadia again - but I might try someone else at the salon. I have been coming here to see Johnny for about 4 years now. He is the only person I will ever let cut my hair. He is super nice and all the people here are friendly as well. The prices are high but its on Newbury St. so its in the price range of the area ($85 to get a cut from one of the top stylists). Once in a while I get offered some of their products at a discounted price which is really nice of them. Overall, I am happy I found this place. This was my first time getting my hair dyed, and I could not have had a better experience. Johnnie did an AMAZING balayage and root fade in my hair and made it look extremely natural. I have blonde hair that I had bleached with sun-in, and he completely fixed the bad sun-in color and made my hair look better than it ever has! I have been going to Romina for about 3 years, and have loved every hair cut I have ever gotten from her. After going there 2 or 3 times she started to try to convince me to cut m hair above my shoulders, and kept reassuring me how great it would look. I finally got the courage to cut my hair short, and told her to do it and work her magic. And she did, the cut she gave me is incredible, it always looks good no matter how I style it, and it does look much better than my old hair. Before she cut it I told her I needed something that was easy to take care of and to style, as well as being able to be pulled back, and she gave me everything I asked for. I have referred 4 or 5 people to Romina now (including my incredibly picky sister) and all have loved her and go to her consistently now. If you refer someone you get a 20% discount, but if not Romina is totally worth the $50. I agree that the space may not be the nicest salon on Newburt st, but they do a really good job. read more

I've gotten several haircuts from Nadia over the last two years. I have always been very happy with the results and leave the salon feeling like a million bucks. Nadia always listens carefully to what I want and gives great recommendations without being pushy. My cuts aren't very drastic or complicated but they work. I feel like Nadia understands and optimizes the natural wave/texture of my hair and I never feel the need to style my hair excessively because it is cut well. She also styles it better than anyone else I've been to. Plus Nadia is just really nice and friendly throughout the appointment. I have been going back to her because she always makes me feel good about my hair and makes the experience pleasant. I walked in without an appointment yesterday, and got an appointment with Nadia. The receptionists were extremely friendly, and I found the environment pleasant and comfortable. I have thick and colicky hair that I know to be difficult to cut and style well. I've been seeing different stylists for ~3 years now, and Nadia gave me the best haircut I've gotten in that time. She listened to what and I wanted carefully, and was able to achieve exactly what I wanted. Today, my hair is laying very well. Nadia also seemed to take the cut very seriously; she concentrated on her work while engaging in friendly and genuine conversation with me. She's very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. I made the appointment way ahead of time, received a confirmation email, but, wow - had the salon impolitely cancel the appointment on me an hour before my appointment time. They did not even apologize or offer anything - they simply said that "the person who made the appointment for me over the phone booked it in the wrong place"!!! what??? I explained to them that I don't live in Boston anymore and made the appointment especially timed for my trip but it did not make them say anything. My first experience with Enzo & Co was almost a year ago, when my usual salon was being renovated and I followed my hair stylist to her temporary accommodation. I have now been seeing Mia for almost two years, and I have not a bad thing to say about her, or either salon I have seen her at. At first, I was getting simple cuts just to keep my hair healthy. In our conversations, Mia once expressed her opinion on a small change: just adding a little more blonde to my natural dirty blonde. Almost a year after it was mentioned, I booked an appointment with Mia for a simple cut. When I arrived at the salon, I brought up the possibility of adding small highlights to my hair. Even though my appointment was only for a short amount of time, she made it work so I could get exactly what I wanted.
