I had my dog at Enzo's Acres about 4 years ago now and had a horrible experience that they never made right. I wrote a review about my dog being injured when I got him back and had zero response from the trainers at all. They blamed the metal on the ecollar and said he might be allergic to the metal and suggested that he may need the hypoallergenic version (which is funny because I bought that collar and gave them the entire contents of the box that included the one they were talking about him possibly needing) As I've already written a review about that experience, I don't want to go into too much detail... but as it was so long ago I can't update the post at all, as I'm looking at getting my younger dog into a board and train soon I was given more resources from reputable trainers to know whether a training facility has met certain requirements or not in order to know if you should take your dog there. Well I just happened to be curious and did a search for Enzo's acres on these resources and come to find out they aren't a certified member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers... or any other training association that I can find. I thought I would make sure that this information is out there so people can make an educated decision of where to take their beloved pets to. This picture is of one of the 2 wounds that my dog came home with from Enzo's acres. It required an emergency vet visit and antibiotics. What was the worst was they didn't even mention it to me at all! They also removed my review of them on Facebook and blocked me from commenting/replying on anything on their page. That is HORRIBLE business practice as I only went there due to amazing reviews. So if they deleted my review and blocked me I ABSOLUTELY KNOW they did it to others as well. Did the board & train for a 4.5 month Doberman. First and foremost, my dog came back with a white patch of fur HE DID NOT HAVE BEFORE. This is from TRAUMA. Vet verified. That should tell you everything you need to know about their training. That horrifying fact aside, they didn't kennel train him or potty train him. Reached out after bringing him home where he peed on the floor 5 times in a three hour period. They said he needed to be on a schedule (that is unreasonable for anyone who isn't retired where they can interact with their dog every hour) then sent me three YouTube videos to train the dog on potty training myself. Which is hilarious because the first video explains how to potty train using the kennel...which would be great if they kennel trained him. But they undeniably did not. He'll bark for HOURS in his kennel even after being fed, walked, and gone to the bathroom. Asked for at least a 50% refund since they finished teaching him how to sit (we already started this and had this working most of the time) taught him how to lay down (we didn't care about that) and taught him how to place (we also didn't care about that) everything else we asked for and was offered on their site for the board and train (which is about 8 or so things) was not trained. Their solution to not get him to pull on a leash was to give him a prong collar. Cool, except not. They stopped responding and issued no refund. Have disputed it with the bank as I've clearly been scammed and didn't get anything nearly out of this for what I paid for. I've reached out to two other dog trainers. One saw him 4 days after he left their facility to confirm what was and wasn't trained. They've confirmed whatever Enzo's claims to have trained him for potty training and kennel training were false. He howls for hours in his kennel and still had accidents. Total waste of $2,500. Save your money, go somewhere else if you want anything trained into your dog that isn't "sit" read more

Enzo Acres Failed to do what they Advertised Enzo Acres advertises that in two weeks they would train my puppy to stay quietly in his kennel, walk calmly on his leash, behave well in the car, maintain control when around other dogs and around other animals, refrain from mouthing and chewing on people and non-toys, no longer counter surf, and, in general, behave well. At the end of the two week training period they told me it had taken them 9 days to "get through to him". They said he is stubborn. They offered to keep him longer at $60/day. I maxed out my budget paying for the 2 week training period. Their website does NOT say that they can train easily trained dogs in the listed behaviors in 2 weeks. Their website says their training: Gives your dog a more solid option for training including: sit, down, leash walking, heel, place, crate training, potty training, waiting for food and waiting at thresholds plus tons of socialization time and pack experiences. This is for dogs who are social (like other dogs or ignore other dogs) or who need better social skills but are not dog or human aggressive. When my puppy came home he 1. was NOT kennel trained - in fact, he barked and howled for hours when left in his kennel and he has torn up his kennel 2. still tried to mouth and chew my hands 3. is well behaved on his leash ONLY if there are no other dogs around 4. doesn't behave well in the car 5. continued to mark (pee) in places around the house When I communicated all of this to Enzo Acres I was told to be strict with him - but unless he has his prong collar and the e collar on he doesn't listen. He simply did not get the training Enzo Acres advertised would be the result of their training. Initially, Enzo Acres wanted me to return to their facility to discuss what I could do to continue his training at home. It is a 2 hour drive each way from my home to their facility - and I have 4 children aged 8 and under. I don't have the time to do the training I paid them to do. We had a house fire around the time I was able to bring him home. We were living in a hotel for weeks. I was simply unable to devote the time he needed from me for him to be well behaved. I stretched my budget a lot to pay them to do what they promised, to help my puppy develop the habits to allow him to be happy and comfortable in our home. When I realized that he hadn't received the training he needed and that Enzo Acres promised to give him, I thought they should have offered to continue training him under the original contract without any additional expense to me. When I realized they weren't going to do that, I asked for a partial refund. They have not responded to the request for a partial refund. Before you consider taking your puppy to Enzo Acres for training, make sure your puppy is NOT stubborn or "hard to reach" and limit your expectations of the amount of training they can accomplish in the stated amount of time. read more

We took our two dogs to training at Enzo's, and were very pleased with the results. They mind when walking on leash, stay in place on command, as well as here, sit and down. Grace was our trainer, teaching us as well as the dogs. The owner initially said she would pay for the vet bills. Then the day we had to put out dog to sleep she called and told us it was our fault and she was not going to pay the bills. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Completely disappointed in the results after having our 5 month old Doberman at the board and train for 2 weeks. My pup Juniper has trained with this facility since she was 6 months old. Since that time, I have used them for boarding and enhanced training and have always been very happy. The team at Enzo's has been helpful and is always insightful. It is nice when the entire team shares the same information and training techniques. Every time she returns from boarding, she is always tired and listens just a bit more than before I dropped her off. Overall, everyplace will have negative reviews and I can only speak in regards to my time spent with this company. I have a 4 YO Basset Hound who needed some help with basic manners. He did the three week day training, and I'm so happy with the results! He now practices place, walking on a leash and recall, among other things. I was worried about leaving my dog somewhere for the day, but every morning when I'd grab his prong collar, he'd come running and sit down, ready to work. He loved it at Enzo's! He will definitely be going back for daycare. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful here. We were nervous about taking our puppy home but also so excited to see her and Emily sensed that and helped guide our training session in a way that helped us understand the importance of giving praise when it was appropriate. Can't really give any stars for services provided so this is for communication or actually lack there of communication (The facilities look fantastic) but that will only take a business so far. I was referred by a friend who used to board his dogs here and said it was great. I will never get to find out after making several (9) attempts to schedule an appointment or talk to someone about training and boarding they never called back so I went to Man's Best Friend in Battle Ground and oh how happy I am with the results of their training program. I've always been a very conscientious pet owner so when it comes to training my dogs, I only want the best. That's exactly what I got when Enzo's Acres was referred to me. They have trained two of my dogs including my very headstrong German wirehaired pointer. I can't say enough good things about the training and the attention to detail the owners provide. On top of it, once my dogs we're trained, Enzos Acres was a excellent place to board my girls. They got lots of exercise and even on rainy days, my GWP would get to go on the treadmill! Very disappointed that choke collars are used on dogs for training while here and recommended for training at home. To me a choke collar on a 7 lb. puppy isn't a "balanced" environment; it is unnecessary, inhumane and should have been disclosed upfront. I should have researched more to learn what they really mean by "balanced training" methods... Food deprivation also doesn't seem to be a positive training method and is rather extreme to get a dog to do what you want them to do. In their take home literature they claim that dogs don't understand our words... Hmm, then why use the spoken commands they suggest at all? It seems the information provided is for people who don't know a thing about dogs and assume that dogs are stupid. We had our two puppies go through their 12 day board/train program. We have two male puppies a Black Labrador and a Rottweiler. We are very happy with the results. They listen much better and got very well socialize when they were there too. Our dogs did get e-collar trained which works great for us and our dogs. They are still as same silly puppies but now they listen and have better manners. Such as staying on place, walking well on their leash and a lot less jumping up on people. YOU still need to work on reinforcement when your dog gets home but they have such a good foundation. I would highly recommend them. read more

My boyfriend and I just picked up our Coonhound, Norma, from her two week board and train and couldn't be happier already. If you know anything about hound dogs.. especially blue ticks.. they are LOUD, smart, and sometimes stubborn. Emily was a GREAT help when we got there to pick up our dog. She went over everything with us and even answered all and any questions we had. She was kind, funny, and knew what she was talking about! From start to finish my dog's training was fabulous. The staff is professional and has their profession, and how they run their business, locked tight. My dachshund barked at everyone and other dogs, before his training. He would pull really hard when we walked him as well. After his training, I was astounded at how well he was trained!! He walks at my side and we walked through a store without him barking at anything. They also helped me, because my reactions when he use to bark enabled his behavior. We took our shepherd mix, Cash, here when he was about 1.5 years old for the 2 week training and were so happy with what he learned while we were away. He was still his kooky, over-excited, and loving self, just much better able to listen when needed! He suffered from quite a bit of anxiety and we found that his anxiety decreased after being trained, especially knowing he could go to his "place" to calm down and relax any chance he needed. We continued to bring him to Enzo's for boarding and were so happy to know that he was in good hands! Every single employee we encountered would greet us with "Oh, yay, we're so glad Cash is back - we love him!" and we could tell that Cash felt the same! So many tail wags every time we walked in, and he was not an immediately trusting dog! It gave us such peace of mind to know that he was being well cared for while we were away. i dont understand why these websites don't let you do zero stars because that is what these conartists deserve. first off, you don't have to use punishment training to train your dog, there are better and non painful options. educate yourself before calling! as for the business side of this crapshack... i called in to schedule some training time for my pup, everything sounded fine although it was a bit expensive which i thought, no price is too high for my best friend. i get off the phone, do some reading and realize they use punishment instead of reward training and decide the next day to back out. they ripped me off, kept my money and trash talked their way onto the internet. look em up, they are trash! do not take your pets there! read more

If you have a dog that needs training and/or specific behavioral help Dawn is the woman to go to. A couple months ago I adopted a dog that had some behavioral issues I was not equipped to deal with. I was referred Enzos acres and they completely turned my dog around and myself too. I went from having a very anxious, hyper dog to a well-behaved happy member of my family. My dog is a completely different animal now and I was given the knowledge and experience to be able to work with her. It was worth every penny I spent. Not only that, they have a follow up visit they will do with you after their training at your home and provide ongoing support. Enzo's saved our dogs life. We had a pitbull mix, Becky, who was so reactive that we couldn't take her anywhere. She became aggressive towards us (on walks) and we had nowhere to turn. We initially took her to OHS, who after being unable to adopt her out, wanted to put her down. I called Dawn in a panic. I told her all about Becky and Dawn listened to me for almost an hour and was convinced she could help our pup. We did the 3-week board and train and have been taking their Saturday class for almost 2 months now. Becky is a new dog. She listens, she is obedient and she can walk right next to dogs and be fine. Everyone who works at Enzos is a true dog professional and we seriously cannot thank them enough. No matter what age or type of dog you have, I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

They deserve a minus number. This was a terrible mistake. I feel worse than any other point of my life for sending my 7 month old puppy to these people. He went with 7 days of food & treats, he came home with no treats being given & only 1/4 of his food gone. For days he ate everything in site & is now very food aggressive. He also has separation anxiety that was never there before. Upon return he never lost contact with my body no matter what I was doing. It's been a couple weeks & he still has to be in the same room. He has become over protective of me so that going thru a drive thru for coffee or a burger is a struggle to hold on to him so he doesn't jump over & bite the person in the window. I also found communication was near impossible. I was wrong to send him there but how they treated my dog & damaged him is unforgivable. read more

We had to board our 2dogs here due to septic flood and electrical fire - Instead of giving our dogs the love and attention they needed , they overfed , our dogs were extremely filthy , full of fleas & nails extra long . For the price -I assumed they would be treated same as we treat them .. Dawn complained we did not see them enough ( I explained we were homeless, just moved out house AND insurance company not doing they were supposed to) instead of considering the hardships we are enduring , she threatened to take our babies and have them sent to Humane Society . (Yes-they were paid in full) saying we "abandoned" them .(LIE) She told us to come get them - yet then said we were not allowed on property. Already under pressure from our losses , this person used our dogs as "weapons " on us ! She pretends to care yet , very rude and inconsiderate . She called sheriff (for what reason ???) I had to come with police escort ) what a nightmare experience!! All because we couldn't "visit "enough !!??!!" So we are now homeless with 4 dogs !And still fighting insurance companies issues and inaccuracies !!! This woman has no compassion !! (Not needing sympathy -only compassion for what our dogs and I are experiencing. Cannot believe how heartless Dawn is AND the condition my dogs were in when picked up . It appears to me there was a Lack of excercise for them , They smelled SO SO bad . Made me question where she putting them??? The staff was fantastic - the only reason for the 3 stars . Dawn is very errational !! Definitely do not use this place if you are going through any tragedies in your life - as she will use those things against you . Unproffesional !! And the reason for all this - unknown..... My animals should not have been so stinky nor nails almost into pads nor full of FLEAS!!!! . Not for price !!!
