This company is full of crap. I paid off a settlement offer regarding an old ATT account and I know it has cleared my bank account. I also spoke with Suzanne who sounds like a fraud/tape recorder who also verified that the funds have been posted to my account. I asked Suzanne for a letter indicating that the funds have been received and that I do not owe anymore money and she informed me that I would have to send them a letter that I have no intent on reversing the payment that I sent. I think this is fraud and full of shit. Helloooo, I cant get the money back even if I tried because it has already been taken from my bank account and EOS CCA would have to release the money back into my bank account. An employee continues to call me about an outstanding Hospital Debt even though he first said it was my Primary Care Physician Debt. The money has been paid in full to the Hospital and the idiot continues to call me demanding I give him the bank account information used to pay the debt and tell me that he is suppose to get a "commission". Never received any communication from them in the past in writing and all of a sudden after the telephone call, I then receive a written communication from them....a bill stating I owe $700 for a hospital bill already paid previously. I received a bill from these people claiming I owe $174.09 for CenturyLink CenturyTel Svr Grp. I have never used this carrier I bundle phone, net & TV with Charter Communications and always have. Also, on Wikipedia it states that the only areas serviced are Columbia and Jefferson City. I live in St. Louis. Total scam. I am filing complaint with Missouri's Attorney General and the US Attorney General because this is a multi-state scam. These people need to be shut down. read more

No doubt this company has some legitimate buisiness; however, it's not stacked up to what they are about as far as I'm concerned. They do not match name, address with phone number against possible dead beats who owe. They seem to be fishing for luckyl hits. I have an 800 credit rating so when I'm called, they just hang up. I called back and can only threaten them to stop calling even though customer service seemed to be cooperative. It's only a sales pitch at best. Back when Cingular sold out to Att I had a cell phone. I know that I paid this bill but its been so long ago I cant prove I paid it. Att said it was so long ago that there is nothing they cant d to help resolve this matter. EOS CCA refuses to send validation they say I owe 1252 dollars when they origional bill in question was 806. They said that if I do not set up pmt arrangmets atleast that they amount will just grow bigger, I did that unfortunantly so that I dont have a huge bill untill I can figure this out, Any Ideas ??? read more

This company BETTER quit fucking calling my home. They called my home at almost 9:00 AT NIGHT, (EST) my 1 1/2 year old son WOKE up after I JUST got him to sleep, and they put me on hold for 5 minutes, with a message saying "We have important information for you. Please continue to hold." When i got on the phone, the guy would not tell me who he was, OR if he was a debt collector, until i verified my address. I WILL take care of my bill on my own. I recently had been very sick, two surgeries, etc. I was contacted by EOC.CCA about an outstanding bill. I agreed to pay this company $50 on 1/17/14. Well the day that they called me and I made this promise to pay, this company went into my account and took $250, which has overdrawn my checking account. I am very very upset by this and have to go to the bank now and see if I can get some of the bank fees back.because of the very bad weather we've had here in Chicago last week, we didn't have mail delivery for three days. When I got my mail on Friday and looked through all the notices from my bank, I also got a notice from EOC CCA indicating that I promise to make a payment of $50 on January 17. Once I told them do not call again since the person they are looking for does not live in here for years, they still call anyway. Lately I just ignore them and let my answer machine take care of it. A firm like EOS CCA handles many types of "debt". And phone collectors can't be forthright about the legal status an alleged "debt" because they just work off a computer screen with sketchy information. They're under pressure to simply "collect" money. Effectively they work on commission and get fired unless income goals are produced. So let's just look at the example of bank credit card debt that's covered by consumer contract and state and federal laws. In many instances the bank "writes off" an unpaid balance after 180 days using accounting rules to charge those amounts against profits. At that point the bank's ability to collect on that balance may be over. Moreover banks aren't set up to do collections. So they "sell" inactive accounts in bulk to firms like EOS CCA for about 4-cents on the dollar. But FDCPA and various privacy and consumer laws prevent the bank from giving a "debt buyer" like EOS CCA "hardcopy" of the original loan contracts or your complete Social Security number. That phone debt collector probably just has a name, phone number and the last reported address. Their initial call is based on sketchy and often inaccurate data. Their goal is to get you to agree that you are the "debtor" in the matter. If you, in fact, agree then in many states you may become legally responsible for that alleged balance. And if you won't pay then they can file a case in a local court. So when that collector calls don't go into any detail. Shut up. Politely but firmly require the collector to give you their name, address and phone number. And, most important, firmly demand that they must mail you a copy of the original consumer credit contract on this matter and EOS CCA's complete file documentation on any money that's allegedly owed before you can respond. (By law EOS CCA or any debt collector has to do this.) Then do your research to refute any error. Or to deal with any legitimate balance. Don't go into any detail or argue with that phone collector. It's a waste of time. Get off the phone quickly. And only respond in writing --- after you receive the "hard copy" response from EOS CCA. And if you do not receive ant written response write the representative state that fact. And send a copy of your letter to EOS CCA's CEO (Paul E. Leary, Jr.) at the company's headquarters in Norwell, MA. read more

If EOS-CCA contacts you in any way, do your own research with the company for which THEY say you are in collection. I was contacted by phone. Since I KNOW I was not delinquent on any account, I called THEM back to verify. THEY had my name, and the information that i "bundled and saved" on my Direct TV, home phone, internet, and Verizon account. THEY had my address (street name only - no number) and told me I owed $267.61 from 2010 for my Direct TV account. THEY pressured me to pay by credit card. Over and over I told THEM I would research and call them back, but THEY would not stop asking for me to pay THEM. I called Century Link who then called Direct TV and neither said there was a collection or past due amount. WHEN I called THEM back, and I explained why I was calling, he asked for my SS#. I gave him my phone number. Still pressure to pay even when I told him I had contacted both Century Link and Direct TV. I called again and another woman told me I owed $367.61. I'm wondering if the number I was calling was a shill for this company or if the company is fraudulent. Funny thing - you pay Direct TV a month in advance and if you don't pay, YOUR SERVICE IS DISCONTINUED!! There would never be a collection notice. I have reported this company to my state Attorney General. I have also contacted Century Link, Direct TV, and Verizon. Do the same if you find the same fraudulent behavior. read more

I recently got a stack of very scary "forms" in the mail saying that the government was going to be garnishing my wages from my student loans if I didn't set up a payment plan with them. My mistake was that I actually called them. Since I'm out of work and my loan is out of default and incurring interest, that lady told me that I could qualify for a "rehab. program." which is $5.00 a month for 9 months. once I did that, then they would send me over to another "lender." and I would "appy" to get my loan back into "default." But, I had to sign this paperwork of this agreement. I'm glad I read everything because I didn't sign it. Called back and asked if I could just send her the 40.00 to move things along faster. She said, "no." The whole point was that Navient "wanted to see constanty in payment." Constancy and Navient???? She's lying. And when I called back they don't have right information for me. I don't know what information they have on me. Then I ask what she wants to settle for? She gives me a number over 3,000.00. when I had talked to navient/salley maey a while ago they were willing to settle for a lot less. I believe if the government wanted to garnish your wages they would need a court order. wish I would have known that sooner, however; I'm glad I didn't sign that agreement! read more

After reading the reviews here on Yelp I have to say unfortunately all or most of you do not know or understand how debt collection laws work. One review here states they "violate the law-they do not disclose they are a debt collector." My first problem with that statement is if they called you WITHOUT first identifying that they are speaking to the "right party" by verifying either the last 4 of your social, DOB or your current mailing address by federal law they cannot disclose that they are a debt collector because in doing so they would be in violation of federal compliance laws. Secondly, all calls are recorded for training and compliance purposes and before they discuss your delinquent account with you they read something called a "Mini Miranda" and a CMS or "Call Monitoring Statement" so if you people engage with a collector after verifying you are the right person and now your upset because they found you and your phone number and are trying to collect a debt that you legally owe? I find that laughable. Nobody is going to give a collection agency a good review so I am taking the time to do so. EOS CCA has an internal audit team and they are extremely compliant with state and federal laws, collectors have extensive training by some of the industries best and as I stated before all calls are monitored and recorded. Sure there are some instances where they make mistakes and say something that may be construed as a violation. And this "shotgun collections" reference here on Yelp is totally false as well. They don't scare people into paying. They make you aware of the ramifications by your refusal to pay or neglecting to address the debt. And lastly they do not hide better payment options from the debtor. That is just absurd and that would hurt them more than it would hurt the person who legally owes the debt. Just like any other company or form of commerce they want to collect the debt and move on to bigger and brighter things. I highly recommend some of your get familiar with state and federal law before posting some of these misinformed comments such as they try to get more and more out of you after you complete the agreement.
