However, I found it more of a two or three dollar piece a baklava store. I'm honestly shocked that no one has mentioned the pricing yet in reviews. First time at Ephesus, and we dove into every flavor of Turkish delight since we'd never had it before. The attendant was wonderful, carefully cutting tiny samples and sharing her favorites with us, each piece so small it was almost comical. Then, at just the right moment, the owner dropped something glass, and she had to exit stage left to attend to it. It was clear he was giving subtle "that's enough sampling for them" signals, almost like the White Witch watching over her magical treats in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Was walking around St. Armand's Circle and found this little spot, as a coffee lover I couldn't resist the urge to have Turkish coffee. The place and ambiance were awesome! I felt like I had traveled to Turkey or as if I were in a movie set. The staff were very welcoming and friendly with my wife and daughter. One of them even took some time to talk to my daughter and in Spanish!! I had a coffee and a triangular shaped baklava full of pistachios. The coffee was lightly strong yet smooth...very delicious. He weighed it and charged me for 6 oz. Which is $15. Our bill came out to be $33. I tipped 15%.. I had this weird inkling that it wasn't 6oz. It was a small piece So for the principle I went home and weighed it on my food scale. It isn't even 5 1/2 oz. It is 5 1/4 oz. You guys owe me money. I knew it! I'm so upset that we just bought stuff there last week. So we came back. Unbelievable. Don't go if you like honesty and integrity in a business. Stupid to do with all the social media avenues. My husband and I stopped in for Turkish coffee on 12/8/2021. I always want to try the Turkish delight but for some reason, these Turkish places in high end tourist destinations charge like $30/lb for it, making it totally overpriced. There is no way they're selling enough that the food is fresh at those prices. My husband and I each got a Turkish coffee and we wanted to sit and have a quiet chat over our drinks after a long day. Unfortunately the owner at the cash register was sitting on his phone BLASTING either a movie or a game without headphones and it was super distracting. We finished up our drinks quickly and left. OVERCHARGING!!! ASK FOR A RECEIPT!!! Even though it may say one price on the blackboard sign displaying prices you may be charged way way more. I went to pay and in one second, it went from $40 to $104 . I went back for a receipt but not one was behind the counter for about 10 minutes. We came here while exploring the shopping in the area and I was curious to see what kind of goods they sold. I was impressed by the variety of baklava and Turkish delights in the case! Everything was beautifully displayed and looked amazing. I got a piece of the house baklava and three pieces of the pomegranate flavored Turkish delight. The baklava was so pretty! My only issue was the price. The baklava alone was $6 and it was bite sized. I appreciate the rich ingredients and craftsmanship, but it felt a little steep. The guy who runs this place is a sneaky guy. His partner Hasan who opened Anatolian Collection told me Ephesus sells Turkish coffee pots and coffee and will give me a 5% discount. When I arrived at Ephesus the sneaky guy said he already spoke to Hasan. I bought an overpriced coffee pot and turkish coffee for a total of $65.00. Even for St. Armands Circle standards this is extremely overpriced. We even bought some of his overpriced mediocre tiny baklava's. He wouldn't honor the discount, instead he threw in one baklava. I should have walked out but on vacation my guard was down and wasn't in the mood to argue. Skip Ephesus, definitely not a delight. What a quaint little Turkish bakery in St. Armand's Circle in Sarasota, FL. I loved the pistachio baklava so much had to take some home. The small location has a variety of Turkish teas, coffees, chocolates and desserts for everyone's palate. The place is vibrant and glowing with traditional lamps, copper tea kettles and accessories not to mention the assortments of products. The service was pleasant and the store was very clean. It is a tourist and locals location so it was rather busy and you should allow extra time for delays getting to the island as the is construction throughout the bridge and downtown area. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this cute, cozy Turkish cafe in St. Armand's! It was so lovely in there surrounded my the sweet delights and Turkish decor. The pleasant men who took our order and brought our order were accommodating. We were invited to sit down at a table to enjoy our Turkish coffees. It was our first time. We tried one with sugar, one black, and one black with cream. They are served in tiny cups for tiny sips. It is very rich. Very nice experience. We will try something new on our next visit. Ehhh, I feel like I got had. The sales person was a little too sneaky for me. I said I wanted to get some turkish delight to bring back home to my family. I asked if he only sold per piece or if he sold it by the pound like other places I have been. He said both ways, but didn't give me pricing per pound when I asked initially. He said getting a box instead of a small baggie would be better for me. I was expecting a nice medium-sized cardboard box (like a chocolate candies box). He pulled out a large to-go plastic food box with the goal to fill it up. We got some stuff, but I stopped after getting about 5 different kinds. Then he told me it was a pound and a quarter. I thought, "ooof, ok, but it's a gift for my family back home." And then I asked him for the price again, and he told me $40 per pound!! I was taken aback. This is not the first time I have had Turkish delight, so I knew it would be pricey, but I did not expect it to be three times the price! Also, some of the square pieces sold were not fresh.
