Small gelato and coffee shop. Since it's a small place and kind of warm inside, I think it's more of a stop and go. Scroller took up more than half of the aisle and we backed up to get out, but we could've went in more towards the back to turn around. Haha. I can't speak highly enough about this gelato shop. It's one of my favorites in all of Florida. Not only do you have the option to combine two flavors in a small size (usually disallowed by most gelaterias), but the flavors themselves are pretty awesome. We enjoyed the banana split, the sugar free dark chocolate (tastier and heavier than I expected), and the cherry amarena. Many other flavors also incorporate inclusions (e.g., caramel waffle cone), which is a highly effective and cost-efficient way to layer in "free" toppings. A happy ending to the day After a good dinner and before heading home a couple of nights ago we headed to St Armand's for a stroll around the circle. It's nice to finally get out. Settimi's was busy on our first lap, but not so much the second, so we stepped in. The colorful display of their many flavors of gelato and perhaps a couple of sorbets, very appealing. I went with my standard, Sea Salt Caramel. It was a happy ending to a good day. We were able to score a bench outside where we could watch the tourists go by while enjoying our gelato. Walking around St. Armands Circle, you're probably racking up thousands of steps. That being said, you deserve a gelato, a creamy, delicious cold treat. Bistro style granite tables and comfortable chairs are staged on the sidewalk in front of the store and that's where you'll probably want to hang out and enjoy the scene. It's an ideal location for people watching. Their gelato is high-quality and homemade. You'll feel good about yourself when consuming gelato rather than regular ice cream because gelato has less butter fat and probably less calories. My treat of choice for this visit was the chocolate gelato, creamy and delicious, made with a bonus of bits of Belgian chocolate incorporated into the mix. After a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant, I stopped into Settimi's thinking a homemade gelato would be a nice finish. To my surprise, I reversed course and had the barista make an iced vanilla latte for my long ride home. Accustomed to boutique hand-selected coffee beans, most recently from Indonesia, Hondura or Ecuador, I was surprised that this Italian latte stood up in bold-bodied flavor. I found the employee rather "cold", mumbling behind the mask and offering little on the nature of the coffee bean (sold in store) or the type of milk used. Coffees are not even mentioned on their website as part of this business. They might increase their profit margin here, with a little better advertising, as the drink was made well and delicious....and I didn't find any competing lattes on the circle. read more

I was in Italy last summer and ate some amazing gelato. It is hard to compare to the gelatos in the US.This gelato however reminded me immediately of that lovely smooth rich Italian gelato. . .and there was straccatelli! A traditional flavor that was every bit as smooth and rich as my first Italian gelato. I am in SERIOUS like with Italy and it's gelato, and now I know where to go for that Italian gelato taste and mouth feel just an hour from home!!
