I arranged for a windshield replacement both through my insurance company and through Safelight…read more Prior to the appointment, I had to modify the location, as my wife needed to use my vehicle. This didn't seem like it would be an issue, as the customer service lady was very helpful and she read back the details of the new location, and everything seemed fine. The day of the service, they ended up canceling the appointment, without much of an explanation, if any. They did, however, put it on their website that WE canceled go no reason, even though THEY were the ones who canceled. We rescheduled, and they actually showed up for the appointment. Unfortunately, after the tech had removed the mirror, they then told my wife that they couldn't finish, because it might rain (it didn't). I rescheduled, yet again. On the day of the new appointment, I patiently waited, and they didn't show up. When I called, the rep on the phone said she was unable to contact either the local store OR the tech. She then advised that she emailed the store. They then called my wife and stated that they would be here in 30 minutes or so. A half hour later, they called her again and asked if we'd be home in another two and a half hours. She said that we would. An hour later, they called her again and said that it would be after 6:00 pm. It is now almost 4:30 pm. I guess we'll see what happens next.

When I got outside to meet the tech he told me, "don't worry I sealed the crack, but the sealant didn't work out right. And don't worry I wont charge you or your insurance company. And don't worry that crack will continue down to the bottom of the windshield and will stop at that point." That's great, but it doesn't address the fact that you broke my windshield (and the crack didn't it continued back up to the top). I used to fill cracks in windshields for a living on used cars. Occasionally after a 'drill and fill' I'd have an occasional crack (20% maybe) . I can own that. I feel like this was a ploy, 'Safelite repair, but Safelite would like to replace'. Don't be a pawn. Or you'll have to replace a $700 windshield too. Marketing doesn't replace skill. I'll be consulting a local glass company to get my glass replaced. 'Safelite Repair '(and hopefully don't realize inadequacy) and 'replace' (at unreasonable cost).
