Paul was the absolute BEST! We could not have had a better DJ for our wedding. Keith & I met Paul when we went to the SLO wedding expo; immediately, we were drawn to him for his warmth & how inviting he & his team were. When we talked to him during the expo, he wasn't pushy & offered us a lower price if we booked at the expo. We walked away for about 5 minutes & knew we needed to book him--he's from New York and we're from New Jersey, so the tristate love was real. He was so professional. Before the wedding, he made sure to go over the scheduling & music with us to make sure he got it right. He was so accommodating as well; we're not from the SLO region, and he was able to make sure we were able to communicate constantly, even if it wasn't in person. The website he & the Epic Entertainment group use was very user-friendly. Paul really helped us out; we weren't sure how to organize or time certain events, & he gave us the tips of the trade and helped us destress. He helped us flesh out our timeline and gave good advice to our officiant, a dear friend of ours who was officiating for the first time. During the wedding, he made sure to bring us refreshments while we were taking photos (SO NEEDED!), put a plate of appetizers on a separate table for us; when it was dinner time, he made us plates of food & brought them to us! He made sure we actually got to eat, which is something people told us we wouldn't be able to do. Paul made sure that anytime a guest came to talk to use during dinner that they were politely moved back so we could enjoy our dinner. He also made sure the buffet line moved at an appropriate place. When it was time for speeches, he even played the Godfather theme for my dad, which was so hysterical and appropriate for him, even though it wasn't prearranged, and it killed! Kevin and Anthony of Epic Entertainment was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We dealt mainly with Kevin, who was incredibly patient and responsive to all our musical needs. From day one, he was thorough in showing us the online tool that made choosing our music fun and easy. We had tons of time to pick our music, and when it came to our one month check-in, Kevin made sure we were finalizing our choices. He made suggestions for games and other timeline events. For most of our planning, I thought my brother would play the acoustic guitar during my processional, however in the last month of planning, we found out that he would not be able to do it. Kevin and I came up with a moving new acoustic guitar entrance. He helped my 10 year old nephew set up his piano for a reception dedication/toast. I would highly recommend Anthony at EPIC. We booked him for our November wedding and he was so easy to work with! He was very responsive and sent us a few emails just to check in throughout the planning process. We had a few specific requests and he remembered all of them. We booked a package that included uplighting and Anthony was really helpful in recommending colors. We met with him at the EPIC offices in Grover Beach so we could see the uplighting colors in person. During the wedding, the dance floor was always full and there were no awkward lulls. We hired Epic Entertainment to DJ/MC our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Our DJ was T.J. and he was awesome. He reached out to me constantly leading up to the wedding, asking me if I had questions or needed help with anything and was so helpful with the online planner. Their online planner is super easy to use and so convenient, it makes planning the wedding and timeline a breeze. We met with T.J. about a week before the wedding and finalized everything and talked through it before the big day. On the day of the wedding T.J. showed up early and set everything up and the music and microphones were flawless for the ceremony. He also announced whatever information we asked him to and helped make sure dinner service went smoothly. He kept me on track for my timeline when I was too busy talking with guests and had no idea what time it was and things would not have gone as smoothly without him there. We also gave him a huge mix of genres like country music, hip-hop, oldies, etc. and somehow he managed to make them all flow together so well! He kept us dancing all night long and we had a blast! So many guests asked us about our DJ after the wedding and a family member even booked them for one of their events. Sean was the DJ for our wedding at The Grace Maralyn in April 2019. To put it simply, he was AWESOME. Epic in general was very organized. We told Chris a little about ourselves and that we preferred a DJ who had worked at our venue previously. He matched us with Sean. My photographer and venue had also recommended Sean and we're SO glad they did. We went into the whole experience with confidence and high expectations for Sean/Epic. He EXCEEDED them. We don't live in the San Luis Obispo area, so we were not able to meet Sean in person prior to the wedding but meeting with him via phone was seamless. I explained that my mother's boyfriend wanted to play keyboard as guests arrived and during the ceremony and Sean shared all his knowledge with him to make sure it was successful. He was very professional and accommodating throughout the entire process. My husband and I danced quite a bit throughout the night, so it was quite an active dance floor. We cannot thank Sean enough. If I could I would give negative stars. Due to Covid-19 we were forced to cancel our wedding in Paso Robles. I called to discuss our options with Chris and he did not even have the respect to call me back or talk to me in person. Instead I received an email saying that we would not be getting any of our $800 deposit back, even though they had done absolutely nothing for us. To have to cancel our wedding we had been planning for a year due to a government shutdown a month before it was suppose to happen already was a blow but, for a company who is in the wedding business to treat their couples like this is truly disappointing. I understand that the cancellation was not their fault however we had no control over it either and they took our money and have none nothing for us. Even before we had to cancel our wedding I already regretted booking with epic entertainment, as I found them to be very unprofessional in many aspects. The DJ never once reached out to us to discuss our ideas or vision. Overall just a disappointing experience and has made me realize not everyone or every company operates with integrity. Chris the owner/DJ was amazing! He actually DJed our wedding! He was more than helpful during the planning process. He really listened to my vision for my wedding and took that and made really great suggestions for not only the music but other vendors and wedding related items. He also was very honest and upfront in telling me that with my venue I didn't need to upgrade to a bigger more expensive package due to the way my venue was laid out. Not many vendors will tell you that you don't need to spend more money with them, but Chris was so honest and really looks out for his customers. He simply wants to make their events the event of their dreams. On to his DJ skills: Chris had the dance floor packed during our wedding. He was great at mixing up the music to keep all the generations attending our wedding happy and dancing. We had so many compliments on the music variety!
