THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! My fiancée saw them one time last year under the impression that they were a primary care office and they have been billing him EVER SINCE!! We called EPIC this morning before his scheduled annual appointment to tell them that his insurance has changed and someone from a third party answering service told him that they accept his insurance and to go to his appointment and everything would be fine. Upon arrival he gave them his insurance card and they said all is fine and they already had the info. Then AFTER ATHE APPOINTMENT they told him that he needed to update his PCP or else insurance wouldn't cover--guess what?! None of the PCPs are covered by his insurance. So now we're just screwed. He found out that he "owes" them hundreds of dollars for care he never received! They said they bill you for chronic care management, HE DOES NOT HAVE A CHRONIC CONDITION! This is crazy and no one offered him any solution at the office. This place is FRAUD! read more

Insane!! Trust the negative reviews!! It's all true. They rape your insurance by billing for tests you never had done. They also tell you "your insurance requires you to take a memory test" etc. BS! I enjoy the actual place when I go for an appointment. But their call center is just atrocious. Whenever I have to call for something or get called by them I get some Indian dude that I can never understand because he's either eating the mic to his headset or his mic is just super bad. Went in for an annual check up and left with a bill with a bunch of things I didn't ask for. Called billing and was told they processed the annual check up AND an office visit.....I came in for a wellness check up so how does that become a magical second appointment. They wouldn't tell me what specifically happened in the office visit. I had to call my insurance to be told what the charges were for. When I called billing again apparently if you bring up any medical concern (even if you didn't intentionally bring it up like weight which they take) it becomes an office visit that you are charged for. I would not recommend going here ever unless you want a surprise bill. read more

I started going to epic health in the fall of 2024 because I needed a new PCP. I was going to the Clawson location and I had gone twice. The PA that I was seeing was very nice but the whole establishment was obviously poorly funded. I had an appointment card set up for the following summer and the day of I went to go check for the directions, I found out that the location was permanently closed and that my doctor was now out of network. I got no notification, no email, or no call regarding this change. Then when I called to ask about it, the attendant told me that I never had an appointment scheduled. read more

I have been going to Epic for a few years now and have been very fortunate to get the PA Margaret, and she is wonderful. Always is on top of my charts and most importantly, listens and takes in what you tell her. I know that Epic is taking every opportunity they can to keep cost down, but I find that I almost feel overwhelmed with their administrative operations. SCAM? This place might need to be investigated. I keep getting appointments scheduled without my knowledge or consent and then they get marked as no shows and my insurance company and myself get billed. I have been on the phone multiple times and its all call-centers over seas. The people never answer my questions as to why this keeps happening and they divert and just ask if I would like to reschedule, or avoid answering the question some other way. And i've kept my cool and didn't get mad but they just avoid being transparent. Just got off the phone with a guy and I asked him 8 different times and he would not answer me. I've been going here for years and like the PA I see every 3 months but she's not always on point about sending my pre-dated medication scripts to the pharmacy. So when I need to call and ask them to fax the scripts, I get routed to the central answering service that is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. They are hard to understand (always an Indian accent on the other end of the line) have no idea what they are doing, are rude and will HANG UP ON YOU. MULTIPLE TIMES. It's 10000x worse than calling Comcast. I don't have cardiac issues, but they are so frustratingly useless that it raises my blood pressure. The answering service has no authority to fax or email anything, nor can they transfer you to your clinic location to speak to your HCP so you are told you have to wait up to 48 hours to get a response from your provider. And majority of the time you don't hear back. The absolute worst feeling to not be able to contact your own doctors office if you need something. Even my pharmacy has no way of contacting them. It's a joke. The only way for me to make certain I get my scripts sent is to physically go into the office and wait for the pharmacy app to send the alert that my scripts are on file otherwise I know I'll have to jump thru the same hoops next months. Currently looking for a new docs' office that is more competent and easy to contact. read more

I was on the phone for two days and when you call you get a central number and you can't talk to anyone at the location you go to. I've talked to six people that have told me six different things. A few years ago my primary care physician retired and the office changed to Epic Health. Because all my records would be easily transferred to Epic, I stuck with it. There is no telephone communication with the office at all. Even showing up at the office doesn't mean you can speak to someone about anything other than making an appointment. Even if your appointment was only a week ago, you can't inquire about the prescription you were promised at that appointment and it was never called in. You never are informed about test results unless it is at an appointment. I often hear from my pharmacy asking me to contact Epic Health because they can never get through to them. I am questioning if Epic Health is even legitimate. read more

I have reviewed EPIC Health before. I complimented the physical therapy staff, Scott and Liz as excellent PT people. There is a new addition to the staff that exceeds other places. His name is Louis. I cannot say enough good things about him. Louis does more than a standard treatment. Thanks to him I can move my paralysed arm and nerve-damaged neck. The pain has subsided from eight to two in five half-hour sessions. I shouldn't say half-hour, if time permits, he will spend additional time working the problem out. His dedication to his clients is beyond a 100% effort, it is more like 200%. It shows that he actually loves his clients and his profession. He explained the what, why, and how very well. He inspired me to exercise and it has made a big difference. If you are in pain, you owe it to yourself to check him out. Get your referral and call 313.369.1500 ext. 1030 to schedule an appointment. I feel like healthcare reviews are important, so here it goes. This is one of the dirtiest places, let alone doctor's offices, I have ever been to. I am surprised more reviews do not talk about this. No soap in the bathroom, wrappers on the floor, holes in the wall, janky equipment all over the place (can you trust the results?) I was surprised there weren't needles laying around. For this reason alone I will not be back, but there is more. I had my blood drawn and it hurt so bad I made her stop. The provider (maybe PA?) has zero patience, is so obviously not listening to a word you are saying and cut me off several times to finish my sentences. When I mentioned I struggle with seasonal depression she giggled and said "do you need meds?" My gut was telling me to run as fast as I can! The entire experience made me feel gross. I am looking for a decent, clean primary doctor so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know! The nicest place I have been to lately is Beaumont Urgent Care in RO. If you're a human I think you'd be better off at a vet. Ferndale office is dirty. Detroit office is clean, but I'm unsure if there are doctors working there. Southfield office ladies are super kind and nice but that office has lost my blood work, charged me for procedures I didn't have and seemingly hasn't read my mammogram in 6 weeks. Every office will keep you waiting 25-45 minutes beyond your scheduled appointment. Oh yeah, I was .1 percentage point from needing a blood transfusion and it took me 4 days to get someone to talk to me. And that is barely scratching the surface of the ineptitude I've been dealing with the past five months. Their outgoing voice messaging is idiotic. It sounds like an 8-year-old trying to talk like a robot from a 1982 movie. They direct you to go to an App Store to download their app, but don't say what the name of the app is. This week they started pushing a new way to make an appointment but Mr Roboto, in addition to being mush-mouthed, is talking over the outgoing message hawking the new app. It's a very good example of the chaos that is Epic. I only gave one star, but Yelp! made it two. I'd prefer it was -21. read more

I have been going here for several years and have had a good experience with my physician. However, the inept, money-hungry office is going to force me to go elsewhere. On top of getting mysterious bills sent to my insurance for appointments that never happened with doctors I've never even heard of, now I get a letter saying that for every single refill, we need to have an in-person appointment. Before my deductible is hit, that costs me hundreds of dollars per visit. I have more than 10 regular meds, most of which have been prescribed and refilled for years without issue. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I visited EPIC three times two years ago for what should have been quick/easy appointments on work breaks. I had Beaumont employee health insurance, always showed up in my Beaumont scrubs and ID, asked for labs to be sent to Beaumont and sure enough the same PA that made an incorrect, life-changing diagnosis and had to call back apologizing for a misdiagnosis a few days later also billed to out of network private labs that obviously I never consented to and requested NOT to be sent to. I can't imagine how this woman was ever licensed or how this entire clinic continues to operate with this mess of diagnostic and billing problems. No one answers the phone - I have been trying to contact EPIC for nearly TWO years: Ferndale, Southfield, etc, to speak to anyone who can correct their billing mistake. Automated phone systems and nobody seems to know how to connect with a manager. Incompetent all around. Go somewhere else. read more

Got an appointment for my husband the next day and we were impressed with how thorough the doctors and nurses were. When you enter the building, there are self check in kiosks but for new patients, you have to check in at the front desk. Went for a physical and had a pretty good experience. Took a bit long to get called back about 40 min but after that the NP, nurse and DR. Were so quick and thorough. They were even able to do a blood draw in the room and an EKG. The front staff don't seem the happiest, but the Dr., NP and nurse were friendly. I love that EPIC is more integrated with multiple other services so that you don't have to bounce around to a blood draw place or hospital for an x-ray. Noticed mental health was also offered and there was a pharmacy in the same building. read more

I tool my daughter there for treatment and after 2 days the doctor still hadn't ever reviewed the labs. We only came there to get a prescription and that was on Wednesday. We still haven't heard anything, when we already knew her issues. You will all kinds of diseases and ailments, and this lazy office will not help you get rid of any of it. I have never in my life been to a doctor's office where you don't receive any billing statements. I called the billing department and asked for a billing history to be sent to me. The lady told me that they don't send out if no balance. Then she called me back arguing with me when I said send me the history. Unbelievable! Every time you check in for an appointment there is some balance owed in addition to the office visit fee. We as patients want to know what exactly we are paying for. Then they want you to come in every month! FOR WHAT! I'm busy. They write prescriptions for a short time so you'll have to come back in for a refill. What a joke! When I did receive the billing statement there was so many codes on there that they are charging your insurance for services that was never performed. They are over billing our insurance and ordered tests that are not absolutely necessary. I could go on and on, but you get the picture! read more

I will never return to this office again! When I arrived I checked in for my appointment. I had TWO active insurance providers and the lady at the front desk told me I couldn't be seen until my old insurance was canceled. She refused to let me see a doctor for over an hour after my appointment time until finally the issue got resolved. I saw a PA that day because I was having abdominal pain and suspected I had a UTI. She took a urine sample but couldn't test my urine because "they ran out of the strips". After that she suggested I get an ultrasound but "the tech was gone for the day". She gave me a script for abdominal bloating and sent it to the pharmacist in their office. When I went to go get it filled there was a sign on the pharmacy door that said "be back later". They never called me to tell me the results of my urine culture and bloodwork, or the ultrasound I had the next day (yes I had to go back). I called every single day to ask if they had my results because I still felt horrible. Everyone I talked to on the phone was rude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by wanting my own test results! Don't waste your time if you're looking for answers!Nothing worse than being sick and feeling helpless! read more

Went a few years ago for a check up and some blood work and everything was great. Doctors were friendly and knowledgeable. I recently had a concussion and had a test with some test results that I wanted to discuss with my doctor and the people at the call center would just not allow me to speak with my doctor. I called several times with no call back. They continued to tell me that I needed another appointment to discuss the test results. I have no idea why, and from the sounds of it, neither did the people at the call center. I suspect they just wanted to swipe the insurance card one more time to discuss the results. I think this is a case of administration/clerical/business people mucking up a perfectly good practice. The current owners/business office certainly prioritize their bottom line over patient welfare. My 18yr old went in today waited 3 full hours to see a doctor who came in for 2 seconds walked out answering no questions or giving any care to his patients. As a physician myself, I strongly recommend NOT to go to this clinic. Front desk staff were courteous. However, nurses were poorly train to do any in clinic procedures. Labs were not ordered as discussed during visit. Wrong labs were ordered. When trying to rectify medical error on their part, was billed for a Tele visit. Was not going to pursue medical errors if they waived that visit but was transferred all over and causing unnecessary stress. Seem to me that this clinic is more concerned about money than patient care. Will not be going back and will not be referring any patient's to them. Hope this was helpful. read more

The only reason I go here is because it is close to me. If I had a closer doctor that accepted my health insurance I would try them because this facility is not well run. You have to be on their backs about everything. I had one of their doctors talk about my testing outside in the patient waiting room while other people were around. They say they can't email you because of HIPPA laws that are protecting them but yet they will talk loudly in front of anyone with the doors open about your personal medical care. I will say they have a lot of resources like physical therapy in house and x rays and ultrasound equipment but I never feel well treated there so I tend to ask for outside referrals. I had probing ultrasound in my uterus and I was literally yelling in pain because the women was so brutal and trying to get through it quickly. The help desk and phone lines take a while and are not pleasant to interact with, they also will not ask you if you had any other questions and just hang up abruptly on you once they've answered. I have generally left feeling worried about how things will go forward and what I will need to check in on in order to make sure I get treatment. I am use to a much more professional level of care that I had in Washtenaw and I would say this is very low on the professional level. At my old doctors office they would tell you everything they were going to do when they stepped into the office, close the door behind you or themselves, follow up on test results and ask if you had any questions and made you feel cared for, all things I've felt are missing at this facility. I would also say the site is not super clean or well kept. The one bathroom they have doesn't have a working lock and the soap is always out, which is so unhygienic for a doctors office! I only give it two stars because they have everything on site and I can tell some of the workers try and mean well but are just not well trained to be taking care of people. The policy of this office changed in 2020, during a pandemic, to require all patients to come into their office for a referral. Yes, they want me to risk mine and my families health to come into their office for a piece of paper that says I can see a specialist. Earlier this year I was given a referral over the phone, no problem. Now at one of the most dangerous times in our health history, their new policy is to see us in person for this simple paperwork that can be processed remotely. Patients are assessed via Zoom everyday, as is the recommendation by my insurance, but this office values billable office visits over your health. Go somewhere else. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in there for a referral to a therapist that could also write scripts, they referred me to a therapist who could not write scripts. I asked for Hep A and Flu shots they confirmed they had them in stock but their dispensary was broken so they said when it's fixed i can come back. I received a call 2 days later saying its fixed and could come in anytime. I called EPIC to see id the ferndale location was open on weekends and they said yea. I drove all the way up here to find out they aren't open. I called a second time to confirm hours on a Wednesday because i got out of work late again they said they were open i drove here they were not. I asked came back this morning they said ya we have those but come back after lunch when we're not so busy.... Okay, i did that and drove back this afternoon to find out they were out of flue shots. Are you kidding me 5 times i drove here. RIDICULOUS. Im changing my provider these people suck. Horrible care quality. read more
