Went in to get my Epic pass printed off since last year they were never mailed (as the email said they would be). Waited in line for 30-45 min. It was a a busy day, no problem. Gentleman (with no kids) in front of me was helped, then it was my turn. The lady proceeded to bump us to the end of the line because it was the last day for the student passes. She said if we didn't have kids we had to wait until everyone with kids was helped before we could have our pass printed. Went up to the front counter where they preceded to tells us "well you can get it on the mountain, they have more staff..." I go up to ski, not to wait in line. I waited in line and got kicked out of line for no acceptable reason. This just adds to the continuing terrible service I have come to expect from the Epic "customer service". read more

My husband and I visited the epic mountain gear store off of Wadsworth and we were pretty appalled at the customer service...no one greeted us as we came in while their were two people behind the registers. I asked the girl behind the register if she wouldn't mind checking to see if a jacket came in an x-small. She not only seemed super annoyed that I asked but she told me that it wasn't made in an xsmall. I thought this was a little weird but said thank you as politely as I could and she basically ignored me. Now I'm all about giving second chances, perhaps she was having a bad day. All that being said, today we went to the store near Park Meadows and had FABULOUS customer service. We were greeted with smiles and were asked numerous times if we needed help. As I was trying on the same jacket Laura came to see how everything was fitting and I told her my story from the day before...she thought that sounded odd and took the jacket to check on sizing. Not only do they make the $279 jacket in an XS, THEY HAVE ONE IN FRISCO. Derek so nicely called the store and is having the jacket transferred down the mountain. I couldn't have asked for more awesome customer service. This has always been my favorite of all the stores and I will only come here from now own. They went above and beyond expectations. I was fitted here for ski rentals and was told that if I picked them up the next day after 1pm, I would save on 1 days worth of rentals. My husband went in the next day to pick up what I was fitted for - I was told they had set everything aside. I received boots that were 2 sizes too big (25.5 vs 23.5) and my skis had the wrong name on them. I had to exchange my rentals in Vail which I was not charged for but took 30 mins out of my day. I called this location to let them know that I was given the wrong rentals and the person who answered just said she would pass on the info to that dept., no apology or care. I will never rent from this location again - get everything at the mountain to save yourself time and the headache. read more

Usually I have a great experience at other Epic Mountain Gear stores but I will never be returning to this location. I went in to return some ski goggles I got for Christmas with my boyfriend who purchased them with me. I asked if they could help me find a size up to exchange the product. The cashier showed me to a sales lady who was supposed to show me other sizes. Instead, she had me try on a different pair that was $100 more and a separate branded product altogether? I told her I was looking for an exchange and she continued to try to sell me. Finally she said she had no more of my product. I asked if she could tell me my size at least or tell me if the product was at another store and she refused to answer those questions. I decided to just get store credit at this point. That's when an associate named Laura came over and pointed at my already purchased goggles and said "Those aren't on sale!!!" When I told her they had already been purchased, she proceeded to pull the goggles from the box and told me they were "filthy, disgusting and scratched." These were a Christmas present and I had only tried the product on once. I will never be back. Customer service and salesmanship was absolutely horrible. I cannot believe how unprofessional Laura was. There are way better locations in other parts of Denver. read more

I took my son in for the Junior Trade ski program. Lori helped us and provided amazing customer service.It has been a long time since I received retail customer service like this. We also needed to get a new helmet, poles and other gear. She knew her stuff. She kind, pleasant and gracious with my son. She pointed out quality products at reasonable prices. She made the trade as painless as possible. We got our skis and boot adjustments done while we were shopping so we didn't have to make a trip back. We had a $50 off coupon but they had a $100 off coupon at the store they let me use instead. If you're at this location be sure to ask for Lori. Hopefully spelling her name right. read more

Great job to the guys in the ski fitting area and Karen in apparel but Hope at the checkout blew your night with one of the rudest checkouts I've experienced. My new go-to ski rental place (sorry, Christy Sports). I was trying to reserve online for ski rentals at Christy Sports, but the locations near me all ran out of both the sport and performance ski packages. This has never happened before. I had to do some scrambling as I was coming up on the rent online 24 hours deadline for discount. I found this gem, which really isn't hidden. This place was a lot bigger than I imagined. The décor of the store is amazing and the space is very open. The staff is very knowledgeable about gear. Located in the same plaza as The Container Store near Park Meadows, there was plenty of parking. The hours are also great as they are open until 9pm except Sunday (at the Park Meadows location). The rental prices were comparable, around $20 for the sport ski package. The only difference was the damage waiver price, $4 compared to Christy Sports $2 per day. You can pick up the skis after 3pm the day before and return them before noon the day after. This counts as one day. This was very convenient as we came back on Sunday night after the store closed. As the store is near work, I just dropped it off on Monday. This will be the place we rent from for the rest of the season. read more

The ONLY reason this place got my business for our children's annual ski rental is because Sports Authority closed. What a pain in the butt process! First you show up, we were there at 4:30 on a Monday in early November, and there are families and staff milling around. Figured out they have a sign up sheet to get fitted; wait our turn, about 30 minutes with only 1 family in front of us. Wonderful gal was super sweet getting the kids fitted (only positive of this whole experience). Then she disappears to get boots and skis. Puts a sticker on everything, and hands us slips we'll need to bring back to get the adjusted skis at the end of the week. Ugh. Head to front to pay. We were doing their used program, so advertised as $99/year then half back toward next year's rental. Well, they apparently automatically charge you an additional $15 per rental (2 in my case) for some standardized binding test. It's optional, but they didn't tell us about it until I asked what it was. Then they pull some BS on you about how it's a safety thing- now what parent is going to opt out of something that you don't understand when it could potentially be detrimental to your child to do not it?!!? So all of a sudden our $99 rental is now $114. Just advertise it for what it is! And be upfront about it instead of sneaking it on to the invoice slip for checkout. Then, they call the day before we're due to pick up the skis with a problem on our son's skis. Turns out it was an issue with the skis picked out by THEM, and our son's size and ability level. Ok, fine you figure it out. But instead of taking the initiative, we have to wait that much longer when we come to pick up the skis for them to find another pair to rent us, a much sh!ttier pair, and have to take that much more time to set it up. That's AFTER waiting again amongst the milling crowd to pick up the skis. I gave them 2 stars on the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were more overwhelmed this year than anticipated with the closure of Sports Authority, but seriously get your act together! There is a very high likelihood we will not rent from them next year unless there is some indication they are better prepared and properly advertising the rental cost. read more

We visited this location for the first time. They have been open for about a year. This store appeared very spacious with its partial second floor and high ceilings. The cashier said the Aurora store was actually larger. They had more ski boots and skis than the Aurora store. As I walked around, no one came around to ask if I needed help. Although someone came up to my husband in the ski department. My husband ended up buying some shoes on sale and socks on clearance and was able to use a 20% off internet coupon. read more

I've done the Junior Ski Trade program here for 3 years. Customer service is awful. Each time I've waited 30-45 minutes for a trade-in. What's frustrating is that there are usually only 1-3 workers in the trade-in department. There were plenty of workers (6-10) wandering around the store - but no one wanted to help us because it wasn't their job. Other than the trade-in area the store was pretty much empty. After 45 minutes this year, waiting for the one person in the junior trade-in to finish up with customers - I had to finally hunt someone else down myself and convince them to help me. I only chose to go here because of the trade-in program for my kids. It is what Colorado Ski & Sport are known for - but they can't even do that well. I won't even consider looking at higher end equipment here for myself - because I don't believe they have the knowledge or care enough to offer proper advice. I prefer the customer service and knowledge at Christy Sports - spend your time and money there instead. I'd encourage the management here to train their staff to help in whatever department is needed. I feel like the staff here are just watching the clock until their shift ends. read more

The absolutely rabid and unscientific mask policy in this story is quite fascinating. They're located in the only county devoid of mask mandates, yet they're still required as a matter of "store policy." My 10yo is medically exempt and we've all recovered from Covid. We are zero risk to anyone in this store, but we're not "allowed" to shop without a face covering. Unfortunately we rent skis here annually for our son, so we'll have to figure out a way to return them without entering the premises. Came here to get ski gear for me. When I finally got someone to help me to pick everything, they told me they couldn't help me because it would take more than 24 hours to get everything together. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was rude and told me they put some glue in the bindings and that is why it takes them 24 hours to get the skies ready. THAT IS A LIE. My husband got his stuff in this store a couple months ago and it took them less than 10 minutes. They just didn't want to sell me the skies today because they were busy and they couldn't handle the amount of customers they had. Went in to pick up some skis for Christmas. At first had a pretty uncomfortable experience not knowing what kind of ski, height, etc. was best for me, making the experience difficult. Ian S came over to help and that all changed! He was extremely knowledgeable and explained to me what skis would and wouldn't work for me, picked out bindings and poles, etc. Didn't try to sell me more expensive skis that wouldn't be best for me. Worst retail experience I've ever had. I asked them for a tuneup and I needed to buy two new skis with bindings. They said they needed three weeks for a basic tuneup. I asked them if I could have them in a week because of a trip. They said no, I asked for a manager, the manager acted like I was out of line. Christi Sports is across the street. Kevin H. was absolutely fantastic. I bought my skis 2 months ago with a younger rep and he sold me on what he thought I wanted rather than what I really wanted. I skied for the first time of the season yesterday and was absolutely miserable. I was so frustrated with my boots and skis because they didnt fit right. I came into EMG today worried that I would be told "too bad" or have to pay a lot more to exchange. Kevin H really listened to me and what I wanted out of my skiing experience. He gave expert advice but then tailored it to what I preferred. He also helped my boyfriend find the perfect pair of boots after he bought an awful and small pair off Craigslist. Kevin was very attentive, personable, friendly and I couldn't have asked for better service and the exchange ended up being even thanks to Kevin's expertise and putting the customer first. I've been buying my ski gear here for years and finally got around to writing a review, inspired largely by the outstanding service provided by bootfitter Savanna. I bought a new pair of boots in March and was struck by Savanna's thoughtful attention to detail, insightful questions, knowledge, professionalism, and excellent work. I had just come through a painful foot injury that my old boots had caused to flare again. After skiing in the boots she fitted for me (with footbeds, customizing the shell, etc..) the pain, incredibly, went from a 9 to a 0, and I could shred the steeps with ease again for the remainder of the season. Fast forward to the end of May, and we were ready to outfit my oldest with new boots for her bday. Savannah provided the same excellent service, care, and attention, and I have every confidence that her boots will serve her well next season... The customer service, gear quality, interesting variety of equipment, and willingness to price match have made Colorado Ski and Golf my ski shop of choice. read more
