Bought my first pair of hockey skates here, and the staff was extremely helpful when it came to brand and selection. They measured my foot and made sure I got the perfect fit. They started by asking lots of questions to find out exactly what I would be doing to make sure they would have the right support. The staff also sold me a shoe insert that I think really made a difference in how supportive the skates felt. It was about $70 on top of pretty expensive ice skates but well worth the cost in my opinion. I highly recommend the store for any hockey needs. They seem to also be really great with children and everyone else who had questions in the store that evening. The facility also has sharpening on site, so my skates could be baked and sharpened and ready for me to wear the same day. But the best part is... It didn't smell like hockey in there at all. Love this store! They have everything you could possibly need for ice hockey/street hockey! I don't want to name everything they have but really anything you could possibly need for the sport they have it and at decent prices compared to other stores. You are also able to order online which is awesome as well! What made me write this review was the experience I just had the other day. I really came here to return my sons hockey helmet(which stupid me brought the box without the helmet), but I knew I needed to get my son a new helmet and check the size in the store. Alec was the person who helped me! He was awesome, best customer service experience I have gotten in a very long time! Alec helped me choose a helmet in my budget and fit my son with the right one. I also knew my son needed new skates. They have a machine you stand on that does all the sizing and measurements which was really cool. Alec was not pushy and was price conscious for me which was pretty cool. We found the skates that fit and not only did he help with that but we had them baked and sharpened right then. I also, purchased colored wax laces and told him my husband might kill me if I brought them home for him to lace; and low and behold he laced them right up with a smile on his face. This type of customer service rarely exists anymore sadly. This dude is awesome! Now today I had to go back in and return the helmet I ordered online. He was there again and helped with the return as well as Pat. I actually came in 10 minutes prior to them closing and they didn't act annoyed or anything. Pat was very friendly and had great customer service as well as Nathan. They were all really cool dudes. The return went rather smoothly and everything worked out better then I could have imagined. After moving back to Colorado and continuing my recovery to get back on the ice, I knew of a couple shops near me I could go to. However, the experience at other shops is hot and cold; many of which have kids who work there and goof off. Enter Pure Hockey. I had a wonderful experience before moving out of Colorado and it is still the same after returning. Whenever I go, we talk about gear but also toss in some Avalanche chatter once in awhile. They offer honest and solid advice so that's why I continue to come back. I just wish their sticks would go on sale more often like every week. haha. Called yesterday to ask if they carried the Brian's due to the nature of "come in and try it on then order it" philosophy they have in Colorado. The guy at the store said they have Optix, Gentik, and a sub Zero. Drove 56 miles one way and the store has one set of Optic 2. Upper management at Pure Hockey continues to ignore our cries. Took me years to finally drive down here and I can only say I spent $3k on gear last year with your rivals and needing legs pads this month. About 2k including glove and blocker, right? Oh wait .... the rivals have a store just down the street? Well... we're already down here. read more

We had an issue with our sons goalie mask and needed a replacement cage. They were the only store in Denver that had any goalie cages so we rushed over immediately. They made sure we found the cage we needed and put it on for us. Literally saved our sons tournament. Can't say enough good about them. read more

the kid was more worried about making the sale then telling me the add on costs so when I got to the register the cost was more than expected. don't up sell without telling the cost especially when it comes to heat forming somethin. read more

This place is pretty shady. Found a jacket on sale and asked if they had my size. The guy tells me they have one at their Westminster store but they can order and have it shipped to me. So I agree and when I go to ring up he says their online price is higher so they have to charge me that and I can call customer service next week to ask for a refund of the difference. read more

great selection of sticks and equipment, horrible sharpening done by Tony. tony left a LITERAL DIVOT in the profile of my steel... when i asked him to remove the divot he left in my skate blade by stopping the skate on the sharpening wheel, he gave me attitude and told me "it wont make any difference" then grabbed my skate and tossed the skate he was busy overheating to the side and redid my skate. aside from the divot, which absolutely would make a difference Tony, the steel was burnt meaning he pushed the skate into the wheel too hard to try and speed up the process. horrible for the life of your edges, makes them brittle, then you have to get them sharpened more often which then shortens the life of your steel. there was no final pass done to get that great sheen that slides so well on the ice. instead it was rough, retained the black marks from overheating it and there was still remnants of tony's divot. when he "fixed" the divot he left in my profile, im not sure it was even cut at the right ROH... honestly, i would be more than happy to come in to your store on one of my days off to instruct proper sharpening technique if you would like? i have tons of experience... ill go back, but only to buy a stick that no one else has in stock or something. ill stay very far away from their sharpening table and you should too! read more

I really like this place and they have a great selection. There's been a few times where I haven't been able to find a size or the particular brand that I was hoping for, but that said they have a ton of stuff online and will return it no questions asked in store so as long as you plan ahead you'll be fine. By far the best place to shop when it comes to hockey gear. The staff is well trained, very customer service oriented and will give you an honest and correct answer. The manager Josh could end up working with an NHL team. Thats how good he is. read more
