Epic is SO good and I will always suggest making a visit here if I'm in Soulard or near it. They serve it by the slice or by the entire pie. I went last night and got a slice of the pepperoni pizza with a side of their ranch (it's the best). I also got a side of toasted ravs. It's super affordable and a solid option to eat on the patio at itap. I requested to get it there, so they gave me a number and I went back over and took a seat. It was brought out within 10 minutes. Travs and pizza was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The cheese pull was real! Always hits the spot

I was the designated driver for our party of five in Soulard this past weekend and, as every drunk group is destined to, they begged for pizza as we left our last bar. It was 1:20am and Epic was getting ready to close; we were some of their last customers. They are certainly popular at that time of night. We waited in line for 15 minutes or so to order and then waited another 10-15 to get our food. We were able to grab a seat at the picnic tables in front of Protagonist's Cafe to eat. This is a favorite of my fiancé's, drunk or not, but I can't say I feel the same way. Epic pizza serves NY style slices; they're meant to be enjoyed folded in half and they feature thin crusts to accomplish this. My biggest gripe was the quality of said crust. Mine came out soft and almost a bit soggy in the middle. This led to splitting when I went for the quintessential fold! As a native New Yorker, I can't get behind this. If they had still been open, I would have asked them to put my slice back in the oven. I also wasn't a fan of the quality of the sausage which gave me a bit of reflux. Lastly, $5.50 for a slice is steep. Even in NY you can typically get a better version of these slices for $5.

Back to Baseball and back to Epic! Pizza and a beer before game is the best! Love the brick oven and everyone working there are the best!

The vibe of this place is very local east coast pizza joint which I love. The prices are great and the pizza really good. I love their dirty dan pizza a lot!

Review Visit: November 6th, 2016 Was it more EPIC than Epic Burger? Find out below. While at Shameless Grounds, I decided I wanted to get some food from a local place. Pulled up Yelp and see what was nearby. I settled on this place by name alone. Boy, was it a good choice! I had to park a bit away from the place, but it was nice and the walk was enjoyable. Upon entering, I glanced at the menu and did a double take on the prices. About everything on the menu was over $10, but you can order pizza by the slice. Those are about $3-4 a piece. A tad high for my tastes, but I figured why not... I don't drive to St. Louis every day. So I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich and the cashier was pretty cool. They give you a playing card instead of a number, which I have seen before and is always pretty cool. Food took a typical time to come out and it was pretty good. I got homemade chips with mine and those were good. The sandwich was... Epically good. Smaller than I expected at the price they changed, but it made up for it in flavor. If you are eating and fancy a drink, there is a bar next door called International Tap House (iTap for short). Epic offers food services to the bar, which is great because who doesn't get hungry while drinking? They also have a few seats outside that has a window to which they can serve you by. Next time, I want to sit there. You can see this spot in the photos below. So, yes, this place was way more EPIC than Epic Burger. I would say it was twice as delicious. This place I would revisit. Epic Burger, not so much.

Interior; limited seating inside and it's nice for groups
    Lorie L.

Based on Yelp searches, Epic rates highest for pizza near the Soulard area. Tucked toward the end of the street, it offers limited seats inside and the tables are nice for groups. If you prefer patio seating you'll want to enjoy the International Tap House next store and order pizza to come next store, or walk over to buy by the slice. We ordered a full pizza for our family of 4 and garlic knots. This gave each of us 2 slices. The garlic knots came in a group of 6. Good but one order didn't add a lot to the meal for our group, and they came out after we'd eaten our pizza. Definitely good pizza that matches the positive reviews. Service was quiet and at times a bit dismissive, which was a stark contrast to the other local spots we visited in St Louis. Street parking is easy to find for visiting or picking up takeout.

Definitely have been wanting to try epic pizza and subs and they did not disappoint. Ended up doing takeout on a rainy night and it was a treat to myself. The wings had great flavor as they were smoked and fried and I loved the dressing that came with them. The wings were meaty and had a nice size as well. Chicken Parm sandwich was solid, but the fries were outstanding despite the trip home before I could eat them. The pizza I ordered was a half buffalo chicken and half chicken pesto in a New York style crust. Pizza was good but the ratio of chicken to meat and sauce was a little off. Actually almost had too much chicken- still had good flavor. I definitely would like to head back and try another type of pizza as well. Service was efficient and quick and the two ladies that were working took care of me immediately.

I eat here quite often. Their pizza never disappoints. I love that they have a different pizza of the day every day and they always have a great selection for single slices. Their ranch is the BEST ranch I've ever had. Their Parmesan garlic fries are also to die for. You really can't do wrong with anything on the menu. Their service is great and I love the vibes. I also love that they'll deliver to Itap next door.

Pizza is great. Loved it. We got 1/2 veggie, 1/2 pepperoni. Seriously delicious. Cheesy. Great crust. Fresh toppings. Pizza is good cold too. We ordered takeout and it was ready early. The missing star is due to the mozzarella sticks. We had 6 sticks and 3 had no cheese inside. The 3 with cheese were very average. We will definitely order pizza again and pass on the mozz sticks.

    Take home Pizza kits!

Nice place, service was helpful and friendly and food was great! You can order pizza by the slice or whole. You can pick up at the outside window and they have curbside option also. We ordered 16" BBQ chicken pizza dunes out bacon and a Whole Order of tasty seasoned fires! All was hot and Delish. So my hunger level had reached the "Cavewoman" status and when I pulled up there was one person already at the window but leaving and I could see the curbside employee was assisting another car, so I jumped out the car and rushed over to the pick up window to retrieve the order. While there they had a counter sign advising they had Togo Pizza kits! I wish they would have advised over the phone because I would have picked one! Great idea!! But I didn't want to chance someone else walking up and encroaching MY SPACE! I was outta there in mere seconds!! I will be back!

There's a charming patio out front, if you want it. You can settle in for a long dinner, post up at the bar for the night, or grab a quick bite before heading out on the town. Bartenders are warm and approachable, and the in-house mixology is confident without any "we spent 30 hours perfecting this" pretense. The whole experience is like Sam Malone the bartender (save the drama) at Cheers: friendly, self-assured, the kind of place that makes you feel like you could spend all night there without anyone rushing you. We had a Paper Plane and an Old Fashioned -- the latter served over a custom ice cube stamped with a double ax (a nod to the wood fire). The cocktail list leans classic and reliable: if you know you like gin or vodka, you'll find something easy here. The espresso martini is the standout, it works as a dessert drink or any other time of the meal. We started with the Smorgasbord instead of our usual garlic knots (which are their own delicacy), and it didn't disappoint: toasted brioche with mascarpone and strawberry jam, several cured meats (capicola, prosciutto, pepperoni), parmesan, gouda, dried cherries, and chutney. My one nitpick; the pepperoni and gouda were tiny cubes, which makes them tough to grab cleanly compared to the sliced parmesan or rolled prosciutto. In this situation give the man a toothpick. The tallow-fried wings are, in my opinion, the best in St. Louis. The beef-tallow-and-potato-starch breading produces a tempura-like texture and crunch that keeps them light. Adventurous-but-classic sauces, bourbon butter BBQ, buffalo, and pineapple honey habanero (legitimately spicy; bring backup). The wings stand on their own without sauce. For pizza, we got the Napoli (tomato, fresh and smoked mozzarella, arugula, parmesan, black pepper, olive oil) -- her standing favorite. Expect proper Neapolitan: soft center, thin crust, charred crisp edge. Don't lift and bite fold it. (She insists: no fork. I use a fork - I know how dare I!) The pizza menu reads creative but never gimmicky; meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-conscious diners all have real options. Before Kyle took over, Pizzeoli was known as a vegan-forward spot, and that flexibility lives on. We closed with the seasonal ice cream sandwich, fresh-pressed pizzelle wafers, crème brûlée ice cream, and a torched marshmallow cap. Excellent. A couple of practical notes: they're dinner-only (4-9:30) and the new reservation phone line is a robo call. Easier to use the online waitlist or book online directly. Pizzeoli is dressed-down-or-dressed-up friendly, kid-welcoming, and somehow works equally well for a pre-game stop or your dinner of the week. I've never had a bad dish here, and there are several I come back for specifically -- Lesley for the Napoli, me for the wings. 4.9 stars out of 5. If that toothpick shows up, a perfect 5. ;) Worth the trip across town, an hour drive for a long dinner, if it were open for lunch, the suggestion for two trips in one day would be welcomed or two-days in a row.

Packed with flavor and perfectly balanced between savory and indulgent, every bite felt like comfort food done right. The crust was golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held everything together without falling apart. It's rich, so come hungry. Night 2: Meat Me in St. Louis Had to come back and try one of their signature options, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with meats but not overwhelming, and the flavors all complemented each other really well. It's hearty, bold, and exactly what you'd expect from something with a name like that. What really stood out both nights was the consistency--fresh ingredients, quick service, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it an easy go-to spot whether you're grabbing dinner solo or with a group of hungry robotics kids.
