The games cafe was empty except for the nice guy trying to interest people in playing games. All the fantastic pinball machines are GONE. The only game left was a video "Simpson's" game. From new issues to back log, everything has a neat and tidy place, making browsing quick and effortless. They place a variety of mid-level rare comics ranging in price from $15 to $40 near most of the comic shelves, which make for both excellent window shopping and dangerous impulse purchases. They have a nice selection of old and new comics, mostly from DC and Marvel, so Gotham might not be great if you're looking for more obscure or niche comic brands. Similarly, this is a comic shop first, and things like games have a small presence. I also have to mention the staff working at Gotham. The employee was super helpful, going above and beyond in looking for issues that I couldn't immediately find. He made my visit feel extra special. The only downside with this comic shop is that it isn't located closer to my home! Otherwise I'd go there every week!

But if you're in the area and you're in a pinch for that new Batman comic, this is your place. It was a hot day when I visited and they just had a couple floor fans running. My wife and I just visited this store because it is free comic book day and we work with a…read morenon-profit that sends comics into prisons to enhance literacy. The store was empty and as we walked toward the back, there was a gentleman sitting in a small office. He grunted at us when we greeted him. When we told him we were there to see about some free comic books he said those were just for kids. When we told him why we were there - seeking donations for Comic Books for Justice, he grunted again. Whether he would like to donate or not, or agrees with our mission or not, it was the rudest customer service I have experienced in a long time. Had he shown even the smallest inkling of kindness, my wife and I would have shopped the store and likely made some decent purchases. In any event, be warned. This is not a nice guy and not a very nice place.

It was very nostalgic and they are both so enthusiastic and knowledgable about Steiff animals. We had so much fun here and learned a great deal. Steve and Nan were so delightful. We had a lovely conversation with them about what we were doing in the area before beginning our tour. The tour was fascinating and takes you through their vast collection of Steiff bears and other animals as well as their history. Before we left, Steve and Nan made sure that we got a picture in the museum and even gave us some recommendations of other things to do in the area. They also have a cute gift shop where you can buy your very own Steiff. And we sure did. Again, this was a fun thing to do while we were in Kingston and would highly recommend it to other travelers!
