I was excited to try this food truck. I've seen them on Instagram and I noticed that they were going to be opening a storefront soon in Ventura county in Simi Valley, California. I was happy to have time off to be able to try them out before they do. I was greeted. The owners were very nice very helpful, guided me with items to pick treated me and my husband with great respect as customers and I enjoyed every bit of the conversation. We got the shrimp tacos as well as the fries and Horchata. I enjoyed all the items that were given to me and recommended. Please make sure you check them out and support small businesses. It is a food truck, so there is no indoor seating but you were able to get your food to go. .
Finally after months of following them on Instagram, I had my fix of Epic Taco Truck. Came by Friday during Granada Grub Fest and was so excited to order a surf and turf burrito . . . only to find out they don't make burritos on Fridays Now granted I don't see burritos on the menu, but I also don't see anywhere on the menu or site saying they are available every other day. The owner was super nice and explained that to me so I stepped back to decide what I want and ultimately went with the surf and turf fries with shrimp and al pastor. I also asked if the fries would last my drive home since Friday traffic is horrendous and sadly I couldn't eat it as fresh as I could right then and there. The owner let me know they put the cheese sauce on the side to prevent just what I had a concern over - soggy fries! Now that was fantastic as most spots won't even consider it or ask if you want that on the side. Maybe 5 minutes later and I had my fries and a large horchata. Before driving home I had to try everything to get at least a few fresh bites and sips in. The horchata was good but not great. I've had better and this was a bit too light in flavor for me. As for the fries . . . WOW. These are definitely EPIC fries living up to the truck's name! The shoestring fries are super crispy and loaded with shrimp, al pastor, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, spicy mayo, and all that epic goodness. The shrimps were cooked beautifully - plump, juicy, tender, and grilled nice. The al pastor was grilled perfectly with a nice char, tender bite and bold flavor. The guac and salsa were fresh, spicy mayo had a great kick and not overly mayonnaise-y, and I was excited to dig into the rest. Once I got home, I poured the thick cheese sauce all over and this added another kick and layer of tremendous flavor! Everything molded together into lip-smacking hearty goodness. I would definitely return because I need my burrito
They are easy to find. The truck is parked by Vons Supermarket. We ordered Carne Asada tacos and shrimp tacos. While it is true that their pricing is on the higher side , I did not mind paying a little extra because these are more special tacos than your regular Taco trucks. The flavors are good, it had some flair . I really like their tortilla, it's not the store bought kind. I think they make it themselves, it's different and it tastes good. They also put more meat on those tacos, so it's very filling. The guacamole tasted fresh and I like that it's not watery. The grilled shrimp tacos was really good too and it had a special sauce on top. When you approach the window to order, you are greeted by a warm hello and a friendly smile. I like that ! they want your business and they show their appreciation. That's refreshing. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be back.
Parking: The Epic Taco Truck is conveniently parked next to the Vons plaza, plenty of parking within the plaza. There's usually even some street parking spots in front of the truck if you choose to park there too. I've come across this location many times prior to my first visit recently, and I have never notice parking ever being an issue. There are a few trees around, so if you're looking for shade parking, those are limited. Customer service: Right off the bat you're greeted with a friendly hello by a friendly/helpful individual. This was my first time so I researched what to order prior to coming here. But while ordering the lady made sure to cover all basis: item ordered, meats preferred, and add-ons as well. The food didn't take that long to arrive, I would say I waited about 5-8 minutes for my name to be called letting me know it was ready for pick up. Food: There was plenty of options to select from. Tacos individual or as a sampler (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). Nachos (Got to go with Epic Style for sure), fries (Got to go with Epic style on this as well). It was my first time trying this location so I went with all 3, and got Epic style for both Nachos, and the fries. They put plenty of meat and add-ons to satisfy your hunger. For drinks they have plenty to select from as well. Being my first time here, I went with my usual go-to "horchata" and I was NOT disappointed. But I do wish they offered a big size, cause I consumed that drink REAL QUICK! Haha. Overall experience: I give it a 5 star for sure. Recommendation: YES! try it when you're in the neighborhood. Had the shrimp fries and the al pastor burrito. Everything was just ok. It just wasn't memorable. I am rounding up from 3 and half stars. Called in my order and picked up during the quarantine. Give them a try and judge for yourself.
3.5+ stars Visited Epic Taco truck for dinner. Ordered all tacos on the menu (asada, pastor, chicken, carnitas, shrimp) and carne asada fries. Brought it home to eat (about 5 mins away). Not bad but not amazing. I expected better, but again, not bad. Maybe my expectations were higher from reading the reviews. It was a little too salty (and I am a salt person). The tortillas were good. The shrimp was good. The asada was good. Hubby liked the Al Pastor best out of the sampler plate and also said the carnitas were good. The fries were a great portion, but a little on the salty side. Skinny fries. Topped with meat, nacho cheese sauce, cheese, a little sour cream (I think), pico de gallo and guacamole. Good size to share with someone. It was good, good enough where I would try again. I like that they have an A rating. I like that they offer burritos and burrito bowls. I like that you can add a side to your entree. I like that all plates come with a tostada. The quesadillas look good too. They will be closed the rest of the year and returning the first week in January so I think I'll try them again next year.
Got the taco truck at home for a party. Undoubtedly the best tacos. They're so kind and the service is great. Quantity is so good. Joe and Edgar were awesome hosts!!
Epic Taco is one of our go to places when we can't figure out what to eat but we want something quick and easy. They have some good options for Mexican food and it feels like the ingredients are better than some local Mexican restaurants. It's more on the pricey side of Mexican "fast" food. But prices are still reasonable. Here's what we've had * Tacos - the shell is a bit thicker than your regular corn tortilla. If I'm not mistaken, they're gluten free (but please confirm) Tacos have to be ordered in 3s. They have cheese, pico, and guacamole on them. - The veggie comes with a mayo based sauce. If you're not into Mayo, try it on the side first. It has zucchini and onions which are always well seasoned. - Chicken - sometimes I love their chicken, sometimes it's meh. It just depends on the day. It's dark meat chicken. - Keto tacos - The cheese keto "shell" is super yummy. This is how I order all my tacos now. * Epic fries - These are BOMB. They give you the cheese sauce on the side to keep your fries from getting too soggy. * Nachos - though I like their Chips by themselves, I don't really like the nachos. The super thick chips make the nachos a little dense for me. * Cheese sauce - I am NOT a cheese sauce person. But theirs is solid. It tastes home made and fresh. It has a little kick to it. * Beans and rice - Beans are flavored well. But nothing special. Rice is hit or miss. Sometimes it's not cooked properly and you get some crunchy pieces * Salsa - if you really like Salsa ask for extra up front. They don't give it our with everything and they usually just give a couple with an order of tacos. Ordering - For smooth ordering text them your order. It's so easy! I wish they had a way o pay too so all I had to do was grab my food and go. But no big deal. Parking- You can park in the Vons parking lot or on the street. There are usually plenty of spaces right by the truck. My favorite thing is I can text my order in then run to the truck to pick it up without having to take the kids out of the car.
Love the shrimp nachos! This truck comes to my local food truck events and we hit it up each time! The line is always long cause everyone wants it. The new truck is really nice!
I found this amazing food truck while waiting to get my hair done. I can't emphasize how delicious the shrimp tacos are. The service I received from Sandra was amazing & loved that I was able to ask what she would suggest & talked to me about what menu items they offer to determine what I should get. She also suggested next time I go for the Surf & Turf Fries with shrimp & al pastor. I have since found them gone almost every week and tried almost all the menu items. I have become so hooked on the food & like that the employees see me and already know my order! Thank you for the amazing work you have done in creating such a great team and good!
These are GREAT tacos. I haven't tried the burritos yet but the tacos were awesome. It's a touch on the pricey side but groceries are getting expensive during the pandemic so I can't really knock them for it. I tried the pork tacos and I'm still thinking about them a week later. The carnitas were wonderfully flavored and the meat wasn't dry. The guacamole hit just the right notes with the perfect blend of avocado (still partly chunky), tomatoes, onion, and lime. My mom tried the shrimp tacos and she said they were perfectly seasoned. We also tried the epic fries and the most epic thing about them is the size. A half order was the size of the styrofoam container (a standard one big serving size) and came with meat, cheese, guacamole, and lettuce. For all that, I'd say it's a pretty good deal for $6. I'm looking forward to patroning this truck again.
Shrimp Nachos are bomb, fresh seafood. Not a traditional Taco Truck. A bit on the pricier side, but delicious nonetheless. More of a "once in a while" place when you drive by Vons in Chatsworth.

These are the best people to work with and the tacos are bomb.com! I used Epic Tacos for our employee event in North Hollywood. I got to work with Sandra and she really helped me figure out the best menu for our staff, she was very detailed and patient when I had a ton of questions. The truck arrived early and with plenty of time for them to get ready and they began serving on time! The al pastor tacos are chefs kiss! read more

Honestly, I could eat from Epic Tacos every single day. Everything (that I've tried) is AMAZING!!!! These are the nachos. They are my usual go to but I've also had the tacos and I struggle every tome I go b/c I want EVERYTHING. I usually end up getting the nachos and 1 taco if you haven't tried it, you're missing out read more

We had the pleasure of having Epic Tacos cater our daughters 18th birthday . From beginning to end everything was professional, delicious , and truly satisfying . Sandra responded to our quote request in a timely manner and followed up . We were lucky to have Edgar, the manager , cater our event . He was very gracious, courteous, and professional . They served our 75 guests in a timely manner and everyone complimented me on their delicious tacos and variety of items . We hope to have them cater for us again . Finally gave them a try today during lunch and I am so happy I did. I ordered the taco sampler eventhough I usually do not like Al Pastor much. Everything from their tortilla to the flavorful meat and the guac were delicious! I also ordered the horchata which was good. Definitely recommend read more

Often times you can find this truck right across LACMA Urban lights during lunch hours. Solid tacos. Freshly grilled tortillas shells give them an extra grillchar flavor. I went with the asada and pork tacos. They come with real guacamole ( not the bs sauce you sometimes run across) Pico de Gallo, and some cheese on the side. I thought the meats were good but they didn't really have the Mexican style flavor I was looking for. Such a wonderful taco place that I been wanting to try for a while. I saw an article about this place on ABC7 and looked them up. The moment I saw shrimp tacos, I knew that would be the first thing I order when I have the chance. Today was the day, so I called the number I got off their Instagram, since the number of yelp no one pick up. I place a pickup order for their asada quesadillas, 3 shrimp tacos and their 4 tacos deal (3 asada and 1 el pastor) I asked which one would be better and the lady on the phone told me to get the el pastor. My girlfriend also wanted their House Made Caramel Flan but when I asked they said they only offer that when they cater. So she asked if I wanted their horchata instead and I said yes with no ice. When I drove to the place, I parked in the Vons parking plaza since they were set up on Devonshire and before Mason. The lady working the truck was very friendly, she handed me my drink while I was waiting for my food. There was ice in the horchata but I didn't mind. My food was finish at the time I said I was picking it up. when she handed me my food she saw my drink had ice so she apologize and give me a new one. I appreciate that amazing service. Their shrimp tacos was delicious but I like the asada quesadillas the most. I would just ask for more hot sauce next time. read more

We live in Chatsworth and have been driving to San Diego to get good authentic Mexican food because for some reason LA has no idea what good Mexican food is. UNTIL... we tried Epic Taco!!! We are so lucky that we found a spot and even better closer to us!!! They a must try!!!! read more

Wanted to try this out. For the first try I got 2 AlPastor tacos. First off. They look great great. They have fast and VERY friendly service. These tacos look awesome. Better than the street tacos I usually get. The freshly made tortillas, the cooling guacamole and the refreshing pico made these tacos the best in the local area. I am definitely coming back here again. Great job guys, keep up the awesome job and stay safe. read more

I searched and searched for a taco truck for my 50th birthday party. Not an easy task in LA County as there are so many and how do you know whats good? The venue I chose did not have Epic Tacos listed however, did tell me Epic had been on site with a cart and they were good. I decided to give it a go. Edgar helped me decide what to do based on my party size and he is so, so nice. He showed up on time and maintained contact with me. Unfortunately, about 10 of my guests were unable to come last minute and I had already ordered too much food. Edgar swiftly cooked up the extra and I was able to pack it in to go boxes and send my guests home with late night snacks. The portion sizes were VERY generous and the food was so good! My guests who are vegan/vegetarian raved about the veggie tacos and everyone let me know the food was delicious! Edgar served this green sauce that was to die for and his red sauce is nicely spicy! If you're having a large gathering and you need good food from a reliable taco truck then give Epic Tacos a call! Two thumbs WAY UP! read more
3.5 stars. Epic flavors , freshness and coming with the heat! Featured food truck at Dodger stadium during the More Than Pink Walk. Service was excellent- staff was very friendly and upbeat and food came out at a very good speed. Down falls- not very many veggie options, aside from the basic veggie taco; it's definitely yummy tho, the veggies are grilled and flavored to perfection topped with fresh guca with a little kick, can't forget to mention the hand pressed corn tortillas- the red salsa sets it off !
