My husband and I just had our reception here at the Westlake location. Ed and Andrea were so helpful throughout the process. The winery is absolutely breathtaking and the wine is delicious. Our guests are still raving about their sparkling wine. We knew instantly after visiting that this was the place. We had right under 100 guests. We did a wine tasting and every single wine we tasted was extraordinary. They also have fun events on Saturdays. Definitely worth checking out for a date night or a special event. Edouard, the owner does an exceptionable job presenting the wines, and providing a lively discussion on the history and science of the particular grape and how the blend came about. He is a scientist by training, and a professor at UCSB. However, wines are his passion!! Warm and cozy location. He can also host events from 20-170 people. Large outdoor patio area. No food service on premise, but you are welcome to bring your own food in, or order locally, which is what our party opted to do. Look no further for the best winery and vintage in Conejo Valley if not all of Southern California! The wines and the owner Eduard are exemplary and I've frequented vineyards in northern Cali and Santa Barbara, Temecula, and Ojai. On a rainy Saturday night we decided to patronize a winery with our 4-month-old. We were greeted by the knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and generous Eduard! He's the owner and an astrophysics professor with five kids. He knows everything about how each vintage is made and the process therein. His process differs for some the pinot varieties and the franc for which they are renowned! But try the apple cider and the Moscat Orange for a party your mouth has never experienced! I am a member, which means all tastings are free and pick up is 3 bottles, 4 times a year - any additional bottles get a discount. A small winery, but decent amount of seating. If you like wine, white, red, dessert, ports... this is the place for you. I have so many favorites here - a couple of them are: cabernet franc, malbec, zinfandel blanc, winter rasberry, hard cider and the 99 port, but to be honest I love almost all of the wines I try here! I just walked into this place with my guy friend, and we were not welcomed; needless to say, He only had four customers, and the host ignored us while walking in. After we sat down, he continued to ignore both of us like we weren't even new customers that just sat down. We decided to get up and start leaving when he asked us if we needed anything, but again he was unfriendly to us, and we walked away saying bye and thank you. And he never said anything and ignored us again. But continue to take care of his other customers that were there before us of course! I will never come back; he seemed like he was judging us or could be he was just snobby and unfriendly. I don't recommend the place! If your not a regular and new to the area don't go! read more

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a wine tasting! The owner is amazing and very knowledgeable. He walked us through our tasting and explained all the wines and their wine making processes. The wine itself is also incredible. I'm not usually a fan of dessert wines because they're syrupy and too sweet, but here they don't add any sugars to their wines so you get all the fruit flavor without the syrupy texture. I've been here several times in the last 3 months. Typically I go to wineries with my friends because they want to go. But Giessenger Cellars, it is not by accident that I come again and again. Mind you I am not a wine person really. Hard Liquor & Craft beer is really my type. Giessinger is the exception. The whites really surprised me. I've tried 3 of them, and they are pretty darn good. I don't care for whites at all, but Symphony I must say, it is excellent! The reds are good, the Barbera is the best of the bunch. The dessert wines are quite tasty. The raspberry and the apricot dessert, are very unique! What blows me away are the ports. The syrah port, is crazy good. The first few times I had a little, I enjoyed it but didn't think it was special enough to buy. Told myself it's too sweet, and I wouldn't want anymore than just a tasting. One of my friends bought the port, and a few weeks later opened it when I was over. I had a small serving and it was good. Poured another, and tasted better! Between the 3 of us we killed the bottle. After that night, I was determined to come back again, and not without empty handed. On my last visit I was very happy to come back! It not only was the first time ever I bought a bottle from a winery ( I bought 3), but I also signed up their wine club. I will continue to come back, and will be back with new friends and family. Stepping into Giessinger Wine Cellars Tasting Room felt like a treat in itself. What I found inside totally blew my mind. I tasted some of the best wines I've had to date. They definitely have wines for those people who enjoy fruity wines. The flavors of the different wines were distinctive and delightfully decadent. I could literally taste each fruit featured in the wines I sampled. One of the coolest things about this wine tasting that differed from some of the other tastings I've done was learning how the Owner (Eduardo) developed his wines, and the stories behind his personal touch during their creation. He is extremely informative, knowledgeable, and willing to educate his patrons. A phrase that could sum up our wine tasting at Giessinger would be; "This was not your typical wine tasting... This was truly experiencing wine on a different level." One tidbit of advice. If you're thinking about leaving without buying a bottle, your mind may change after you taste the experience so take a little spending cash. We went here because they said they had outside seating. When we got there there was no one inside, so the owner told us to have a seat indoors which we did. The owner wasn't wearing a mask and told us we could take off our masks, so we did. My wife asked him if he was vaccinated, and he replied, "I'm a doctor, and I teach medicine at UCSB," implying that of course he was vaccinated. After talking to us for a few minutes, he told us he was NOT VACCINATED. He proceeded to tell us why he didn't feel the need to be vaccinated. We told him that we weren't comfortable, and he said if we weren't comfortable, we could leave, which we did. I have no interest in patronizing a business where this is the owner's attitude, and we went to another winery a mile away where the sign out front said they were all vaccinated. I guess some folks get it and some don't. read more

We found this gem while driving to a nearby furniture store. The building was so cute we just had to try their wines. We were NOT disappointed. We were immediately greeted by the friendly owners who made us feel welcomed. Four of us wine tasted and loved every single wine! None of us care for sweet wines so we almost passed on the dessert and port wine offerings but the owner/winemaker explained they do not add sugar and the wines are not "sweet". He was absolutely correct. The port was amazing and easy to drink. Yummy. The Cab Franc, Chard, and Petite Sarah were top of the list for all of us but each wine was so unique and delicious. These wines aren't like your typical blends. They are special in many ways! We've never been wine tasting when each of us loved every single wine we tasted. We left we lots of bottles of wine. LOL :) They also have in house made ciders with no sugar added and they are SOOO good. Insanely good. The owners (married couple) are so kind and made us feel so welcomed. AMAZING! We stopped here on the way back after a failed attempt at visiting another tasting room that wasn't kid friendly. So glad we made this stop. The owner, Edward, was there and he made our day. It's almost hidden, but we found the place on Yelp first and there was a sign on the street that pointed us to the parking area. It's quaint, almost like a house. In fact, it probably was a house. The plan was a quick wine tasting on the way home. The reality was a few hours of conversation with the owner and other patrons, and tasting some great wines. Edward not only makes really tasty wines, he's a great story teller, he's engaging and inviting. I can't even count how many wines we tasted that day, including a 177 proof bottle of something. The experience was top-notch. Not a single wine I didn't enjoy. On our way out, Edward reminded us that he was also dog friendly and to bring our pups with us next time we came. We'll definitely be back to enjoy the wines, but also to enjoy the company. read more

While visiting the area we googled "wineries near me". Giessinger Winery in Westlake Village popped up as the closest so, we decided to give it a try. One of their wine members was there celebrating her birthday with friends while we did a tasting. Everyone was engaging and welcomed us as if we were invited guests. Edouard, the owner, was so interesting and entertaining to talk with. He is an expert in several fields with wine being just one of them. He came to the U. S. from France many years ago and we really enjoyed our conversation with him. Forgiveness was one of my favorite wines and has a funny story behind the name. The sherry went from average to amazing after Edouard added a squeeze of fresh lemon. Hard cider is not my thing but carbonated hard cider...Wow...so good! The port was amazing, not syrupy like most ports. There was not one wine that we didn't like. We drank wine, had good conversation and laughed a lot. It couldn't get better than that. I would give Giessinger's 10 stars if I could! After our tasting we asked for a dinner recommendation and the birthday gals gave us a few option. We went to a nearby restaurant called Tuscany and had an amazing Italian meal. What an day! So much fun! We bought wine to bring home and will definitely visit again if we get back to that area. The Giessinger Winery tasting room in Thousand Oaks offers good-value wines and spirits within a very fun environment. I personally enjoy the wide-range of product offered - everything from classic reds and whites, innovative ports and sherries, and an abundance of fruit flavored spirits. The wine prices mostly range between $20-$30, and are very reasonable for the quality provided. The spirits cost more but provide a very unique products. The tasting experience is not rushed. In fact, the owner appreciates good conversation in addition to pouring good wines. This makes for a very fun wine tasting and I highly recommend. read more

Excellent winery with multiple locations and different experiences. It's not difficult to say that your wine may taste just slightly different at each place but you will enjoy the decisions of the owner to provide you with grape varietals that you have not heard of before.
