This park is present to walk on and host event. Since it is connected the Marriot, it is well lid at night. You can walk from here to channel side easily. The water front is use for the dragon boat racing. It is fun to see the boat race here. The drum beating control the padding speed. Some time they win by a hair. Some team is mix sex and some team is just one sex. No matter what, the best team win. The Asia Fest has host here with music and dance. The dragon dance has performed here very nicely. The people will dress up their traditional clothing according to each Asia countries. It is clothing with many color. Oriental food is serve during this festival. The 97X bacon festival also host here. You can get the many type of bacon including the bacon cronut. The park is close to restaurant of the hotel or restaurant next to the park. It offer nice view while you enjoy your lunch here. Many of the office people take lunch break here.

Saw plenty of other wildlife though such as gators, turtles, and several species of birds. There was very nice scenery of huge cypress trees and palmettos from the boardwalk and there were several places to fish from it without being in the way of walkers. At the fishing spots there were places to put your unusable fishing line so it doesn't accidentally blow into the river. The regular bathrooms were closed but they provided porta-potties which were stocked and of typical cleanliness for a park toilet. The trails were a bit confusing with many options leading to the same places.

I don't know how I missed this one. Once you pull off of Fletcher you continue to drive for way longer than I expected. It's nice that you can be so secluded when you're really not that far from residential and business areas. Unlike several of the other Hillsborough parks you have to pay (two dollars) to make use of this one. I'm assuming that's because it has a full bathroom available? No park is going to have a "nice" restroom and this one certainly didn't BUT it was fully stocked and you didn't have to touch anything to wash your hands. That's a big plus in my book. There are also several picnic pavilions and a launch for canoes. Canoes and gators are a "hell no" for me but you do you. The signage is minimal. Because I had done my homework I knew that there was a boardwalk somewhere here. If I didn't know that we would have easily missed it. The boardwalk isn't particularly long, but it gives you some very nice views of the river. The maps are honestly atrocious. It was hard to decipher where the heck the walking trails were. We eventually found a sign past one of the picnic pavilions that said "nature trail" and started exploring. We encountered several forks in the trail and because there were no signs indicating what was in each direction we were completely guessing at our route. Some of the path was pretty overgrown and also the densely packed tree roots you had to walk over could make tripping pretty easy. If I come back I'm just going to stick to walking on the bike route instead.

I admit I haven't visited many dog parks in Tampa except Davis Island-but this one is super convenient and easy to get to, plus its HUGE if you include the rest of Rowlett Park. --------------- All kinds of folks, most taking good care of their pups (picking up after them, watching them, correcting bad behavior). Haven't seen a fight yet. Our usual visit on a weekday morning is decidedly quiet, weekends in the morning pretty quiet as well. Afternoon is when you see more dogs-you also see more mosquitoes (seriously bring bug spray if you happen to come close to sundown). Make sure to bring a towel-your dog will get muddy around the fountain and dirt. Overall this is a nice size park if you want to do some training or just let your dogs sniff around-keep in mind depending on the time of day you may not see many dogs. I also suggest walking the paved trails along the Hillsborough river for a nice little break and some more exercise with your dog (although keep them away from the water), there are gators and they move fast. If you have kids and an extra set of eyes you can have them hang out at the playground (there are several) while someone hangs out with the dog in the dog park or walks the trail. The Atmosphere: Pretty open area, well shaded. About 3 picnic bench tables (2 in shade, close to the water, one in the sun). One water fountain (2 humans, one dog, plus a few bowls left for water). Can get a little muddy around the water. About two bag stations one in the front entrance, another at the end of the park. A few obstacle courses for later and smaller dogs in the small dog park. Tip: Don't forget the bug spray, towel, and extra poop bags if you want to walk the rest of the park.

We saw no trash on the ground. The fence is well maintained. There are multiple water stations for the dogs. We love the big shade trees!

McCall Park is located in downtown historic Plant City, famous for its annual Strawberry Festival…read more The park was named in honor of Theodore Jeffers McCall(1905-1991) who was an aviator in the 1920's. In 1929 he became a motorcycle policeman before going on to become the chief of police in 1939. He also worked in the street department, sanitation department, and the city jail. He served as City Manager from January 1941 until December 1967. During his time as City Manager he was instrumental in overseeing a 240 percent growth in the city. McCall Park is a .751 acre linear park that runs parallel to the east-west CSX rail line. It contains a restroom, gazebo, and benches for relaxing. The park goes four blocks through downtown and is surrounding by businesses, restaurants, and shops. The park is anchored on the east end by the Union Station Depot. Special events held in the park throughout the year include the Chamber Classic Car Show, the Chamber Bike Fest, the Main Street Food Truck Rallies, and other non-profit special events. In December it is the site of the towns Christmas displays. If you visit downtown Plant City, there is sure to be something going on in this charming green space.

They were sharing information about the various services they provide each month and quarter to anyone visiting or working in the area.

Very pretty green space in downtown Tampa with benches and shade for the lunch time eating crowd…read more Clean and smooth concrete walkways and while there is some low undergrowth, there really isn't much for anyone to hide in. Still, Tampa is a big city and there are plenty of people doing dumb things so be aware. A few homeless here on an early Saturday morning, but they were minding their own business.

I have been to two events here in the past two weeks. The burger and beer festival and the 5K by the Bay race. This park is so well maintained, and on an absolute perfect piece of land. Open to the public you can take a walk, jog, bike along Bayshore Linear Park. If you haven't been out here to visit, see nature or for an event, I highly recommend you check it out. Safety Harbor still has free parking around the park as well.

*My review is only based on the kayak launch/experience currently*…read more I met up with some friends for an evening bioluminescence kayak adventure...it was a lovely Friday evening, around 7 pm. I got there earlier. There was NO parking to be had. There is no turn about so making a 3 point turn is required. But when I have my kayak in my car, I can't go in reverse. I know, it's my fault. But there really ought to be an easier way to turn around here when there such limited parking. 2 stars for parking :( I left my kayak and stuff on the grass and parked near the Spa and Bar Fly on the street. A couple blocks away. And walked back. :( I got my kayak to the launch. It's not a specific kayak launch. It's a launch shared for all boats. And it was ridiculously crowded. I guess everyone wants to go play in the luminescent water... Luckily it was just kayakers out at that time. And so we take our turns. The boat ramp is extremely slippery. It should be cleaned and grooved properly for proper anti-slip measures. I saw 2 people fall! Once on the way out and once on the way in. I went slow and sideways as there's a good incline into the water. But they can maintain that better to avoid that a bit better. 2 stars for the launch. Heading out and around the bend past the docked boats is easily identifiable and very quickly you're out in open water. 5 stars for that! I think I'd return when I can figure out when I can park nearby and when the launch isn't so busy. Other than that, I did not check out the rest of the park but did kayak under the pier... more to experience here....

Accesed via USF Riverfront Park, the adjacent preserve includes a natural frisbee golf course and…read morethen fire roads into various wildlife habitats on around 750 acres. There are cypress swamps, longlead pine and palmetto, live oak, turkey oak, and marsh. We saw a gopher tortoise, many beautiful butterflies, sone wildflowers, carnivorous sundew (drosera), and a harvester ant hill. Exciting stuff. Good to be out in nature and exploring. The park and neighboring preserve are free. Sadly, USF doesn't share their kayaks and dock area with the public. Kind of weird for a oublic institution, but they are leading, badly, by example. Otherwise, grest area with fields, park trails, frisbee golf, covered picnic areas l, views of USF's pirste ship loke high ropes course and the preserve are for nature lovers.
