The new location is nice and a lot larger than prior spot in Main Street. I ordered 2 flatbread pizzas in happy hour and chicken sliders. The chicken sliders were a COMPLETE RIP OFF and I will NEVER order them again. My dining partner said same thing. An order consists of 2 sliders for $13. The mini buns were burnt and I almost had to lift up bun to see chicken. If I go again, I will order flatbread. The sliders are almost double the pizza but so less satisfying. Very disappointing after waiter said sliders are popular and good. read more

"This place looks amazing," my boyfriend told me. "I really really hope it's good..." And after two visits (one for dessert and one for late dinner/happy hour), we both agree: it's really good. The people are helpful and knowledgeable, the menu is unique and tasty, and I've definitely been recommending this little gem to friends. The truffle popcorn is a cute little appetizer (who would've thought?), the pizzas are awesome, and the rigatoni formaggio is amazing. I also tried the best wine I've ever had so far, the Airfield Late Harvest riesling. Epulo is a great restaurant with a cozy location in downtown Edmonds - we'll be coming back for sure! read more

On a spontaneous decision we chose to dine at Epulo. 7 trips back, we still love this place. Epulo has everything you'd want in a local bistro. Ambiance of the place is amazing. The dark woods, candle light, orange accent walls (I actually took inspiration from the bistro and designed my kitchen after their design.) Booth seating, bar seating, window/street side seating, and a huge dining table that seats 8 I believe. I really want to have a bday celebration here next and take advantage of the table. The bartender is amazing. He is a great guy to talk to, and knows how to make his drinks. The wine selection is fantastic. I'm always very happy with the knowledge of the staff and their wine. It's also great when you're looking for something, you explain what you're looking for, and the next minute you're drinking it. My favorite thing as you can see in my profile is veggies and meat. There have been times when I go a dish with vegetables isn't on the menu, so I just ask for pasta and veggies of what ever kind and they are happy to make it. My friend and I tried their Tuesday tastings, it was the best girl night ever. Their wine flight along with the tastings was superb and just really made for an amazing time. I recommend this place to everyone I can. Saturdays they do music and it can be a bit loud, but they're quick to notice and turn down the music so you're able to still converse with your date. Since I've only had brunch here, I can't speak to the dinner menu. Awesome brunch, I had the amazing prosciutto eggs Benedict. Cooked perfectly and the bernaise was divine. The other great part was the service. We had the large table in the back corner. Staff was really accommodating (including letting us bring our own dessert), very attentive, and just made it a nice event for our group. I'll definitely be back. read more

My cousin and I took both my mom and my aunt for a pre-mother's day dinner, and it was great. In the past I'd only been here for drinks, and am glad to say that's no longer the case! It was wonderful for girl's night, but I don't think my husband would love it, as the portions are on the small side, but the prices generally are not. We shared some salads and ordered a baguette, definitely a good call. Salads were light and fresh - perfect. Wonderful service, ambiance, and the food was awesome. I had fish, my cousin the sauteed chicken, my mom the prawn pasta, and my aunt the short ribs - it was all good. Overall, I will definitely be back! read more

I celebrated my 50th birthday dinner there last night with my three children- ages 10 to 27. We had heard about them when we saw the owner spoke at The Friends of Edmonds Library luncheon last week. My daughter was their special guest- receiving their generous scholarship award to the UW. We stopped in for an early dinner, mostly from the Happy Hour menu. Pizza, braised beef, spicy green beans, pasta, small plate salad, olives, good wine and awesome desserts! Everything was wonderful! And I was surprised how reasonably priced. Bottom line: fine "American-style" Italian food, prompt and friendly service, with some gluten-free options available. We recently sampled the restaurant with some kids that needed to be various gluten-free/dairy-free combinations. All three were able to score tasty gluten-free pasta options from the kids menu. The artisan pizzas looked good too, but weren't available with gluten-free crust, so we eschewed that option in solidarity with the kids. The adults had a vegetarian mafaldine and a nice shrimp gnocchi dish, both delicious. The entrees were made with care and took a little while to arrive, but the server kept refilling my soft drink without being asked. The bathrooms even had cologne and perfume in them! The only down side: no free bread, though you can order a baguette and butter for $3. Prices really weren't bad factoring in the three kids menu items, and we appreciated the kid- and allergy-friendly service. Would certainly come back when in Edmonds and in the mood for some moderately upscale pasta. read more

This little bistro has a perfect atmosphere conducive to conversation and happy encounters. Their outside seating is a little cramped but it has to be that way to allow people to walk past on the sidewalk. I very much enjoyed their Cahors Malbec and recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious glass of red wine. Service is friendly. My only wish was that they had a few more meaty appetizers maybe even something simple and recognizable by the average person. Also, one more item on the dessert menu would be nice (something warm like cobbler, crisp, crumble, or a simple slice of pie). Love love love love the food here!!! Very nice imitate setting. Wonderful place for a date night. One thing I will say is when it comes to drinks you have to tell the bar tender bite you want him to make it. I ordered an old fashion and there was so much ice it was an absolute disservice to the bourden. However once we asked him to make it the way we liked it the sinks were great. It was my first time at the restaurant and I went with my sister and a friend. We didn't have reservations and opted to wait for a table at the bar. They were more than accommodating and on a busy Saturday night we didn't have to wait too long. We ordered wine, which was simply amazing. The food was also delicious, we ordered: golden beet salad, Manila clams, bucatini shrimp pesto, and a Margherita pizza. All of it was SO good. But the best part of this restaurant was the service, they were so accommodating, quick, approachable, and friendly. I would absolutely come here again. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to try this new addition to the Edmonds food landscape, and our late lunch today was very pleasant. The renovation was very successful, with a nice bar, bistro atmosphere, and an open feel. The food was very good - but the star of both our meals was the soup. I had the butternut squash soup with perfect consistency and a lovely twist of a cherry glaze that added some sweetness. My wife had the fire-roasted tomato soup which was also spectacular. All of the waiters were very nice and attentive. This restaurant is another great step in Edmonds' new food revival. read more

Environment: 4/5 Food: 3.5/5 Service3.5/5 Overall, layout nice and airy. Only one downside was the number of squeaking/crying toddlers, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Ordered some small plates and salad with some cocktails. Gin and tonic was weak, Spanish Champagne was good. Pear and Gorgonzola and Heirloom Tomato salads were very good. Cheese tray with pairings of fruit/ honey were very good. Duck sliders were a little disappointing as was flatbread. Lamb was spicy but was served a little cooler than it should have been. Zeppalo (?spelling?)with caramel sauce was good. French press coffee was a bit on the weak side. Service was fine, chatty and attentive but forgot one of our small plates until reminded. I will give it another shot in the future and try the main courses. read more

My favorite place to eat in Edmonds. Early on the food was spotty, but recently there have been some very well executed dishes. They tweet so you get pictures of the daily specials occasionally. Portions are nicely sized, not the usual overkill. Flavors are well balanced. Service has been spotty. On a recent visit the waiter did not notice we had been seated. About five minutes on the manager did notice, pulled the waiter aside, and brought us an appetizer and an apology. The brunch menu is good, four different variations on Benedict's, sand a selection of omelets, French toast, waffles. Mothers day brunch was very good. Food is a four, service a 3 a 3.5, and appears to be improving. read more

I work really close to Epulo and when I get off work with my co workers and we want to get yummy food, Epulo is the first thing on my mind. My two favorite dishes there are; the roasted cauliflower and prosciutto pizza! They both have truffle oil on them. The staff have always been very friendly. Went in with a party of 7. Would rate it 3.5/5. Ambiance: Definitely classy and well thought of. Service: An automatic gratuity for party of 6 or more. Did not mind that since the servers were really attentive and was accommodating for requests that we had. Food: Ordered the house Charcuterie and Calamari Fritti for appetizers. Entrees: One Carlton Pork Tenderloin, 4 braised beef short rib, 1 medium rare flat iron steak, and 1 well done flat iron steak. The Charcuterie was well made. You get a taste of everything. They gave us a free appetizer too before the Charcuterie which was nice since that appetizer wasn't part of the spread. I also do not remember having any Ciccioli in the Charcuterie. It must have been replced with the pâté. The Charcuterie is not enough for 7 people though. The pâté was long gone and so was the pickled vegetables. Those were sure hits. The Calamari were good too considering only a few of them were slightly overcooked. It was crispy and not oily. The pork tenderloin was borderline underdone. There was slight redness instead of it being just pink. It was moist and well seasoned that the person who ordered it declined when offered for it to be refired. The braised beef was great according to my wife. She personally appreciated the demi glace and the softness of the beef. The medium rare flat iron steak that I had was cooked to perfection. The side of mushroom it came with was overbearing with cheese though. Maybe when ordering this side, just mention for them to be light handed with the cheese. The well done steak that my mom had was obviously dry but nonetheless still enjoyable for people who prefer well done steaks. She had the same issue with the side of mushroom and cheese and she is usually the one who likes cheese. Price: It was worth it. We'd go back there but it's not the kind of restaurant that we'd eat at every weekend. It feels like it's a visit-every-2to3months type of restaurant. read more

It's a Friday night in Edmonds and the place is very busy. Found a spot at the bar and was greeted almost immediately. Friendly, responsive and knowledgeable bartenders who had me a cocktail in a matter of minutes. I had my food within ten minutes of walking in the door and it was incredible. Love this place and will be back again soon. read more

Just ate there. Ordered an expensive Kobe burger medium with bacon. Got one well done without bacon. When I told the waitress she offered to replace it but I was with other people and did not want to wait and then eat by myself. She said she would tell the manager but he declined to do anything about it. Really p$&@ssed me off. Won't go back and would not recommend this dive to anyone else. $80 for 2 hamburgers, one of which, was wrong. RIDICULOUS!!! read more

My wife had her birthday night out with some friends. They showed up about 40 minutes before happy hour and asked to be seated in the bar so that they could take advantage of happy hour once it began. The hostess was really helpful and scooted in tables as other guests left and more of my wife's friends arrived. The bartender let them know that the kitchen would close at 10 but that he was willing to stay and serve drinks and told them not to rush. My wife said he gave them about 3 last calls to make sure they got in their last minute food orders before the kitchen closed. They use good quality liquor for their happy hour "well drinks." The food was good too. Overall, a very welcoming and personable experience. Great customer service! read more

Be prepared for a bistro feel with louder music, open seating, 30-40 yuppies talking loudly and drinking freely. Booths create some privacy, but hard to hear in restaurant at dinner. Lighting good, appropiate for date night. Food: I had the gnocchi, which was too heavy and lumpy, far away from the pillow-y aerial essence that it should be. I wouldn't order it again. My GF got the chicken risotto, which I tasted and thought was the best chicken I have eaten in recent memory. Risotto also good. We also ordered the wood fired pizza, the braised short ribs and I can't remember the last thing... which brings me to my point... This place is nothing to write home about. The items were tasteless. The food needed salt or herbs or something. I must give kudos to the service in that place though... we were even given an amuse-bouche upon arriving. What class! My wife and I dined with another couple last night at Epulo. What a wonderful experience. Aubrey, our waitress, was wonderfully attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food, well in one word, OUTSTANDING! I had the Short Ribs, which were wonderful. Everyone loved what they had chosen for their Entrée as well The flavors the chef brings out in the food challenge any of the 5 Star fine restaurants in Seattle. We actually had started the night across the street at The Loft restaurant. If you ever have a chance to go there.....PASS....We left after not being waited on for over 35 minutes. I frankly don't know how The Loft stays in business. The service is abysmal. Back to Epulo, Service, Taste of Food, Presentation, ALL 5 STARS. By the way, the owner was mingling throughout the restaurant making sure his customers were happy and well taken care of.....what a nice touch. We will definitely be back soon to Epulo. It consisted of caramelized onion soup with crispy Prosciutto , a Miners lettuce salad that needed a hint more anchovy, a pasta bolognaise and a cookie with chocolate moose, caramel sauce that was fantastic! We have been to Epulo at least a half dozen times. Service is outstanding, very attentive, informative, and paced perfectly. The food is the best, the short ribs are a solid choice and I have never been disappointed by their specials. Most recently I had scallops with asparagus risotto (delicious) and in January they had a tomahawk steak for two that was to die for. Plus I had lunch for two days with the the leftovers. Excellent food, drinks and service. I had a medditerranean mule and the rigatoni formaggio. The drink was flavorful but strong and the pasta was amazingly delicious and rich. Sat at the bar and the bartender was an EXCELLENT server, curtailing to all our needs. Oh and we had the donuts for dessert which were pretty good. Overall, great food and service.
