My husband took us to Niles Peacock for a casual Valentine's outing, and I can't stop thinking about the pizza! As others mentioned, reservations are unavailable but we luckily got seated right away after getting there around 7PM. The restaurant is quite intimate and bustling, with some outdoor patio seating as well. We decided to go for their Caesar Salad and The Proscuitt of Happiness - Detroit Style pizza. Oh my goodness, the bread on this pizza was so fluffy with the perfect char on the edges. Paired with the proscuitto and balsamic - such a great flavor all around! I also loved that they not only had an extensive menu of fun cocktails, but also of interesting mocktails as well. We tried Nile Peacock for the first time tonight, and I'm already wondering why we waited so long. They don't take reservations, but they'll hold a table if you call while you're on your way, which we did, and were seated immediately on a holiday. That alone was impressive. We were greeted by Niles himself, juggling phones, seating, and service in a packed room with total calm. The space is small, lively, and runs like a perfectly choreographed dance. Watching the staff move seamlessly was part of the experience. Food highlights: the meatballs with an unbelievable sauce, sizzling cast-iron Brussels sprouts, and the Honey I'm Home pizza, sweet, savory, perfectly balanced, and absolutely craveable. Add excellent cocktails and a bottle of champagne, and it turned into a relaxed, celebratory evening. Service was impeccable, something that matters to me. When I asked Niles about his story, he generously shared, paused to welcome new guests, then returned without missing a beat. That level of attentiveness says everything about the heart behind this place. Just when we thought the night was over, they surprised us with dessert after we'd paid. We came in for dinner on Thursday evening and sat at the bar. Restaurant was busy, but it's also on the smaller side. The bartender had a wealth of knowledge and full of recommendations, which elevated our experience. Both of our drinks were fantastic and I appreciated him not sugar rimming my drink because I hate that. We ordered a Caesar salad which was super fresh and refreshing with tons of shaved Parmesan. His pizza recommendation ended up being too spicy for me so I had to pick out the jalapeños like a child. However, it was super flavorful and I absolutely loved the sourdough crust. Now this is real pizza! I recommend getting there right when they open at 4pm if you want to avoid a wait time. We order the classic cheese which was a two thumbs up from my kiddo. I ordered the bbq chicken bbq which did not disappoint. We were seated right away but took awhile to get our pizzas but well worth the wait! They don't do any add ons to the pizza and don't offer 1/2 & 1/2 pizzas however you can request additional toppings only on the side and they have a full bar. The restaurant is small and not great for big groups. They get super busy and I noticed they stop taking online orders after a certain point but I definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

WOW!!!! This place has been on my radar for a while now, as I see they win a lot of awards for their pizza. I am gluten free, so wasn't sure what would be there for me, but wanted to check it out. They have a small but artsy indoor space, then a larger heated patio space. I do hope they are able to expand, as the place was full the whole time we were there and they usually have a waitlist. My friend and I couldn't decide on a cocktail (too many good options) so the bartender made us a surprise cocktail that was fruity and amazing. It had a lemongrass smoke bubble which was SO fun! They put so much care into their cocktails. The caprese salad was awesome. Thick tomatoes, thick mozzarella, and a lovely set of sauces and pesto. The cauliflower...oh my god. It was cauliflower crusted with cauliflower, which sounds healthy, but OMG it was amazing. I have been vegetarian for 16 years so don't remember the taste of meat well, but my omnivore friend said it tasted just like chicken. It was like nothing I have ever had and I can see myself going back just for this alone. Gluten free too! The beet salad is also lovely and fresh. All the cheeses they use are so good. The gluten free pizza WOW! Easily the best gluten free pizza I have ever had, no contest. We got to chat with the owner and he was saying that their pizza is nationally ranked and that he goes 2-3 times a year to the international pizza contest in Naples, Italy. SO impressive. 5 stars!!! The pizza here was killer. My friend that I went with was gluten free and normally gluten free pizza isn't my favorite. Niles Peacock makes a great gluten free crust that had the right amount of crunch and chew. I can't wait to get to try their full gluten pizza as it looked delicious and apparently is award winning. The gluten free cauliflower was also so tasty. It was crunchy and soft and the sauce had the right amount of kick. The cocktails here are so cute and delicious. The place is small and popular. Love the free and easy parking in the large lot, no street parking woes to worry about. Pros: -meatballs (3)- piping hot, hearty and flavorful -Crispy cauliflower -- served with a dipping sauce, these were perfectly crispy. A tad spicy-loved it! I will order this every time. -burrata salad was light and refreshing , perfect for sharing! -Honey I'm home pizza - delicious flavors, perfect honey drizzle. Good blend of sausage and pepperoni, good portion size. My only teeny tiny complaint is there is a lot of crust. And while it was delicious, I wish there was more delicious pizza and less crust. My coworker that lives in Edmonds comes here frequently and highly recommended me to try the award winning pizzas. I ordered the hunt and gather pizza new york style 16 inch. The sourdough crust seems to be what people like about the pizzas. I am usually not a fan of sourdough so I was unsure of how I would like it. The crust ended up being enjoyable even for me. It was a nice balance of crispy, chewy, airy , soft. The pizza cost $36 + tax so I felt it was pricey but at the same time comparable to other local pizza places. Great service. Ingredients seemed fresh and tasty. That said, I wasn't a fan of the Detroit style pizza. The sauce was delicious, but seemed like a spaghetti sauce. Much wetter than I'm used to on a pizza. It soaked through the bread bottom, so it was like eating tomato bread. I did like the crispy/chewy cheese baked into the sides of the crust, and the great pepperoni cups. Not enough hot honey on it to taste. (We'd ordered Honey I'm Home Detroit style) We also tried The Prosciutto of Happiness, New York style. Loved the crispy thin bottom and delicious chewy sides. There was plenty of cheese, but not enough of the other toppings. We shared the brussels sprouts as an appetizer. I loved them, thought they were perfect and surprisingly not greasy considering they were fried and had bacon (crispy little bacon bits). Our friends thought they needed to be crisper and sweeter. I stopped by Niles Peacock Kitchen & Bar to pick up dinner for my family while we were staying at a nearby hotel. Julie, the education director at Cascadia Art Museum, recommended this spot for its sourdough pizzas--and it definitely lived up to the hype. The place was packed when I arrived. I stood at the counter for a while, unsure of where to go or who to talk to. The bartender nearby didn't notice me, and the staff outside were busy hosting guests on the patio. It felt a little chaotic at first, and there wasn't much guidance for pickup orders. Eventually, I approached someone working the POS near the kitchen, and he was incredibly helpful. He was patient, kind, and attentive from the moment I spoke up. He took my order quickly, gave me a glass of water, and recommended The Prosciutto of Happiness pizza. I ended up ordering that in a 12" size, along with The Garden in a 16" for my mom, the No Bones Crispy Cauliflower, and a lemonade in a to-go cup. There was a brief payment issue--my card declined twice, probably because we're on a road trip and the bank flagged it. I switched cards and it went through just fine, and thankfully the staff didn't make it awkward at all. The food was worth every minute. The cauliflower was hot, crisp, and flavorful. The pizzas had that signature sourdough crust Edmonds locals talk about--chewy, airy, and golden. The Prosciutto of Happiness was a perfect sweet-savory combo with balsamic glaze and scallions, while The Garden pizza was loaded with fresh vegetables and had a great texture. The atmosphere inside is bold, stylish, and full of character. The artwork on the walls is stunning--I believe the owner is the artist, which gives the whole space a personal and expressive vibe. While the start felt a bit unstructured and I wish someone had acknowledged me sooner, the food and the person who helped me made a lasting impression. I came here skeptical but hyped hearing about championship winning pizza with over 100 year old sourdough starter. You're very close to the waterfront which is a nice plus but also means you're going to be spending that premium for food in this area and Niles is no exception. If anything they lean into that more and are extremely pricey for what you're getting. I got the cheese pizza as that's always my go-to when trying a new pizza spot as you can't hide when all you got is your dough sauce and cheese front and center. The dough definitely needs to be experienced as I've had nothing like it anywhere. While it's super puffy it has a delicate thinness to its texture, cloudy and light in a really gentle and refreshing way. However I immediately hated this pizza because the tomato sauce is an absolute abomination. This is thick cooked tomato paste-y tasting sauce that doesn't belong anywhere near a pizza which should be fresh and uncooked sauce that showcases perfectly balanced bright sweet acidic tomatoes. The sauce completely ruins the pizza and made it near inedible for me. Service was great though, friendly and charming as you'd expect from bar staff at an edmons waterfront upscale spot. I got a paper plane that wasn't very good but reminded me I needed to make a proper one at home so I appreciate the reminder. All in all would recommend trying this place for the dough alone but see if they can go light on the sauce or change it to something simpler altogether though that's likely not possible. read more

Thank you to the very accommodating waitstaff at Niles Peacock for letting my parent group of 8 drop in last night and cobble together some tables so we all got to see each other over dinner! While their indoors space was already quite full when we showed up, it turns out they also had covered patio seating across the entrance with heating which was perfect for our needs. After we sat down, the staff were so good about continuously checking in to serve us and keep our glasses filled. I unfortunately couldn't partake of the award-winning pizza due to my gestational diabetes, but that meant my partner happily got the Detroit-style Honey I'm Home to himself. While the toppings were delicious, he said there could have been less crust. As for me, I went with a seasonal special arugula salad that came with fresh orange segments, a raspberry vinaigrette, and goat cheese, as well as buffalo style chicken wings with ranch side sauce, which made for a perfect delicious dinner without too much carb. I got to live vicariously through watching the others' pizza orders and vowed to myself to come back for the garden pizza next time. We had an excellent time talking into the night. Best pizzas I've had on the West Coast, if not the whole country. As an aside, this is the first Fern Bar I've been to since SF in the late 80's. Nice touch. Details: We had a Neapolitan-based pie with several meats plus a Detroit pepperoni. The Neapolitan was extremely light & airy. Textbook perfection of the cornichone. Meats somewhat overwhelmed the experience. Next time will get a Margherita to pickup the nuances of the crust. The Detroit was ok. Odd concept with their Detroits as every house topping variety was available as a Detroit. Versus a traditional Detroit with Brick cheese and one meat topping. Excellent deep & light crust. The sauce used was a simple one for a Margherita, which tasted like plain tomato sauce when used in large quantities on top of the cheese. A more savory sauce would have been a good fit. Regardless, it's the best pizza I've had on the West Coast. Will visit again. Take out business here is constant. Try to avoid a table near the door when weather is cold. read more

This place is fantastic! The ambience is kind of low-key and artistic with cool jazz artist paintings on the walls and funky mirrors. There's a nice outdoor seating area, but it seems to fill up quickly in the summer so prepare to wait if you wanna sit outside. The front of the other part of the restaurant is sort of open air so even if you sit inside it kind of feels like you're outside, which is what we did. I started out with an "I'm your ride" mocktail. I loved that they tried to make the mocktail as special as if you were having a regular drink. by putting the smoke bubble on the top. This is a really fun tasty drink. Then we had the beets and goat cheese salad, which was fresh and yummy, if you like beets, I highly recommend this. All the pizzas look so good. It was very hard to decide, but we hadn't had a Detroit deep dish in a very long time so we went for the classic char and cup pepperoni, and we were not disappointed. It was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The crisp was light and crispy with a wonderful flavor. The aged sourdough really made a difference. The charred pepperoni on top was so yummy. I love it when the pepperoni is thick and crispy and turns into a cup like that. And surprisingly what I love the best about this pizza is it was not greasy at all. We ended the meal sharing a tiramisu. It was also really good. And I have to mention our waitress Casey. She was a fantastic server. Just the right amount of attention and she was super friendly and had this great energy with a little bit of spicy pep. The patio is bustling with laughter and talk. The tables are very close together on this little outdoor patio which could be why sometimes it got a little difficult to hear the individuals that I came to dinner with. But it was a great environment. Because of the great weather, no one was really sitting inside but there's a great little inside spot with a few tables. There were lots of options on the menu including their signature "my hot date". We opted for "honey I'm home" And a pulled pork version of a pizza called the perfect pull. They were both delicious but my first choice would be the honey I'm home. Fun pizza restaurant down by the water. I like that the gluten-free pizza isn't too expensive like most places. The restaurant is a bit small, which can cause it to feel crowded and loud. There is outdoor seating with heating lamps, so the cold isn't much of an issue. However, it can also get pretty loud in that area, as well. Though the pizza was good, the service wasn't as great. Our waitress didn't really check up on us to see how we were doing. Not once did we get a refill of water. She'd go to one table but then walk right by us and onto something else. The other table near us was getting pretty chummy with who I assumed was the owner. Everyone got in and out pretty quickly, but we just kept getting ignored. There was a couple who sat down after my group and they were served a lot faster and left before us. Not sure if I have to be overly friendly to get attention, but it certainly seemed that way.
