Two of us were in Edmonds for an event and, not being overly hungry, decided to try La Palmera for a margarita and a light dinner. We ended up sharing the La Palmera Super Nachos with shredded beef and we each had a classic margarita. Omg. The beef in those nachos was SO good. So were the margs. We ate outside on the patio because it was a nice evening and the indoor dining room was SO loud with a tv and maybe blaring music too? Can't remember which it was. We just knew we'd never be able to have a conversation with all of that racket. It was kind of dark inside too. But I'd definitely go back. The food and drink were great. I'd give them 5-stars if they turn the volume down on the indoor noise. Ugh. read more

This Edmonds location is walking distance to the beach, some parking is available in the small parking lot, and the food is really good. My favorite is the plate of 3 Al Pastor Tacos and House Margarita. I am a fan of their house made chips and salsa. The restaurant has a nice neighborhood vibe and friendly, welcoming service. This is my first visit to La Palmera (11/26/25), a local restaurant chain since 1991. There are locations in Seattle's South Lake Union, Edmonds, Mill Creek, and Everett. Exercise caution due to its proximity to the Edmonds ferry terminal. La Palmera has a private lot, but limited slots. I was thankful to have both traffic and parking karma. Checked in at the host/reception stand. No wait and we did not have reservations during our visit. Note: that groups cannot be seated unless all members of that party have arrived and that there is a two hour time limit onsite. Guess they need those tables to turn over in a reasonable amount of time. Wow - no kidding, the entire restaurant interior was festive with all the decor and lights! There was even an animatronic Santa at the entrance. The restaurant also has a private dining area, an L shaped bar w/flat screen, and the main dining room with various seating configurations. They have the ability to deal with both small and large groups. Timed it well before it got really busy. Restaurant and bar was full, plus a line at the host/reception stand upon leaving. We were seated immediately at a four top and were provided beverage and food menus, chilled water, and complimentary chips & salsa. There's also a Happy Hour menu on the table. Service was exemplary from Amelia: very welcoming with a big smile, order was placed and delivered accurately, checked on periodically despite how busy it was getting, and closed out our check promptly without feeling rushed. We shared the chips and salsa, but also added a Happy Hour queso ($5). Impressed with all three. Definitely I'll have to come back for HH. For drinks: I had the Santa's Pinata Punch ($15). The Homie tried the Mulled Wine ($14). Loved the Santa drink vessel w/bendy straw that the punch came in! Great flavors and generous volume. For mains: I had the Enchiladas Suizas ($20) which were a pair of chicken enchiladas smothered in a tomatillo cream sauce and melted cheese, served refried beans and rice. Very filling and delicious! The Homie had Arroz con Camarones ($28). Generous amount of plump prawns sauteed in a red sauce with bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. This was atop rice with cheese (no refried beans) and comes with a container of warm flour tortillas. He was done in and actually had to get a takeout box. We were so full that we were not able to partake in dessert. There are six offerings featured on the back of the regular beverage menu. With the welcoming service, awesome beverages and food items during our first visit, this location will definitely be on the repeat dining rotation. We've been to the Everett & Mill Creek locations and since this recently opened in Edmonds, we decided to go while it was still fairly early before the dinner crowd started. We lucked out since it was Happy Hour. Husband ordered a margarita on the rocks. I had water then eventually ordered a soda water. Happy Hour menu had several items to choose from. I ordered the 3 fish street tacos and husband ordered the vegetarian nachos. I also ordered the jalapeño cheese dip, which we shared. Our entire bill came to under $40 before tax and tip. The tacos were delicious! On my last taco I drizzled some of the cheese sauce on my taco. OMG! The flavor burst in my mouth was amazing! Husband liked his nachos. It was made with black beans which he really likes. The service was great. We commented that there was no shortage of help in this restaurant. I summarized that they were probably gearing up for the dinner crowd. There was a good mix of diners, families, couples, older adults, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. An ideal spot right off of the ferry for a quick and tasty lunch. We were lucky enough to visit right after they got their holiday decorations up. Festive is La Palmera's middle name! We had the most delicious drinks, shout out to the Horchata cocktail, and guacamole to start. The brunch menu was still available so I went with the chilequiles burrito. Get the green sauce. I was somewhat disappointed with this location. I have visited their location in Everett on multiple occasions ever since I was a child, and I LOVE the food there. Here, the hostess was not particularly friendly when entering or leaving and the food just tasted different from their other location. A more Smokey flavor I'm not used to. The one thing I was pleased with was my server who was very prompt and got my order in quickly, no complaints there. I might give this place another chance in the future, but for now I think I'll be just be sticking to Everett's La Palmera. read more

Our local Mexican restaurant closed and we needed to find a new one. Las Palmer's it is - lovely, convenient location. We've tried multiple things from the menu and all were really good. Margaritas are great too. Friendly, competent staff. The bartender, Luis, listened well to my drink preference and the manager, Hector, was welcoming. I can't remember the names of the hostesses and waitstaff (sorry!) but they are also gracious and efficient. read more

Used to be a regular at Kahlo's Cantina before that turned into this and figured i'd run a comparison. Chips, salsa, and presentation are all a significant step up but the food isnt much to write home about (got the Shrimp Ceviche) and service is a bit slow. I would say the food was as expected for a local Mexican restaurant, but the service was outstanding! Victor was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The complementary chips and salsa were served immediately, and we added queso to the mix. We were there early enough to order from the happy hour menu, and everything was served quickly and hot! My father lives in a retirement community very close to this restaurant. We decided walked to this restaurant, good choice. It is close to the Edmonds ferry and lots of ferry traffic. They do have parking in a lot behind the entrance. This is a busy area, which makes it difficult to access. Plus, this is a popular restaurant with many people here. They are a recently opened restaurant in this location. My father was draw to their outside patio; he loves eating outside. Lovely outdoor fountain. However we were a party of five, plus baby. So there were no patio tables large enough for us. We were able to sit in a room inside, with one other large party. Loud music and the noise from the other party was high. This made any conversation difficult. Even our servers struggled to take down our orders. I wanted to share the guacamole with my daughter. The server misunderstood and skipped my daughter's dinner order, as she thought we were sharing my dinner entree. Quickly resolved. Great service from the staff. Because of the tight seating at the table, they struggled to serve our food, not being able to hand out plates to everyone.We started out with pina coladas. Not so good, no pineapple taste, weak coconut and ice heavy. They provide chips and a spicy salsa for free. The guacamole order was rather scant. It was loaded with tomatoes, onion and cilantro, which overpowered the small amount of avocado. At 12.00, this was disappointing. I ordered the queso birria tacos, with a side of rice and beans. The tacos came with what looked to be a very small amount of cheese on the outside taco. A skimpy amount of meat inside. The cosumme that came with the tacos was barely adequate for one taco, about an 1/8 th of a cup for all three. Tasted more like packaged French dip mix, with raw onions and cilantro mixed in. Rice was bland, as was refried beans. The entire meal was really lacking in any flavor. And Mexican food for me, has distinctive flavors. My son in law had a burrito. It was quite large, but little meat and lacking any flavor. Overall, the food was disappointing; skimpy meat, without flavor. Mushy rice and terrible beans. For the price you pay, the food was way overpriced. Loud music made it difficult to communicate. Maybe a beer on the patio would be nice, other than that cannot recommend. read more

Great service and good vibes at this Mexican addition to the Edmonds food scene. Crowds were evident and the space is fairly tight but still seats quite a few people. Dishes were pretty typical Mexican fare in terms of gooey enchiladas and tamales. I would say the food quality is above average. Margaritas we ordered were tasty and not over salted. Service was attentive and responsive. Prices were about what you would expect - not cheap but not over the top either. If you're going to pay a lot for what you think is a steak fajita, but turns out to be mainly a bell pepper fajita, I'm going somewhere else.
