The service & atmosphere were pleasant although the hot tub did not work. There were 2 beautiful fireplaces in the spa but neither were lit. It would have made a nicer atmosphere. Had the best Swedish massage with Tony, his energy was the best so relaxing and comforting. I chose medium touch as I've had massages before and just wanted to enjoy a treat for my muscles. My sister who lives in Murphy found this gem of a Spa and treated me to a half day here.The entire staff was amazing! It will Definitely be on my to do list for every visit here. read more

Eh....A solid C+ to B- for sure The good: I was greeted by a friendly person and checked in quickly. There were clear COVID precautions being taken. The locker room attendant gave me a nice tour and then left me to change for my massage. Everything was clean. The massage was a solid B- to C+. The massage itself was pretty solid. I work in the industry and have had many highly skilled massage therapists work on me. Could have been worse, could have been better. Overall for what it was worth and what I was looking to get (general nonspecific deep tissue work)--it was good. Afterward it was easy to check out and I appreciate that they took care of tipping included in the charge. I always find that to be awkward when someone asks me what I'd like to tip -- I always feel obligated to do it or tip extra even when I don't want to. Hand washing was encouraged per signage. The less good: no social distancing or masks required. The staff wore them but other patrons did not. I don't think this was totally in their control -- but there was a huge logjam in the locker room changing area. Two women came in to begin their experience and were receiving a tour / getting set up with their lockers as I was returning from my massage. The changing area is very small -- and I could not get to my locker. There was really no where for me to go while I waited awkwardly for them to finish their tour, stand around and chit chat with each other, change their clothes, and finally leave. In the grand scheme this did not take forever but it was again -- just awkward. Poor design. The massage therapist commented on "problem" spots throughout my massage. I didn't come for an evaluation and to become a carnival exhibit -- but that is what I got. He oohed and aaahed as he would run across areas that were tight as if he's never seen anything like it. Given that I have a complex medical and Orthopaedic history this came as no surprise to me of course, but it was rather unprofessional and in an unsuspecting client -- they might walk away feeling broken or catastrophized. This is exactly what we teach other medical and wellness providers not to do -- not to make a spectacle about the client. To keep your thoughts to yourself, stay in your lane, and simply do what the client needs. I imagine some people actually "like" being told about all their stick spots -- but I identified myself as a medical provider (Physical therapist) up front, identified that I have a complex history and already get plenty of care for it back home -- and this guy continued to double down on sizing me up even as I politely attempted to change the subject as he worked on me. I guess I should have been more direct and ask him to please be quiet -- but I didn't for fear it would make an already awkward situation more awkward and ruin the experience completely. I probably won't return unless there are clear ground rules up front -- which I thought I had made clear -- but next time I would be more clear -- I'm here for a massage, please don't keep running your mouth, and keep your gawking to yourself. read more

Extremely expensive. i live in the city of Atlanta and go to spas there but Equani? I was expecting more. I had a facial and a hot stone massage. The esthetician barely ask me about my skin except if it was oily or normal. And they use the same routine I do at home...apply cleanser, wipe, apply mask, wipe, and apply moisturizer in very slow motion. it's similar to having kids and asking them to apply a mask on you and have them doodle on your face with their fingers. There's no extraction or purification for my skin. My hot stone massage was someone placing stones on me then removing them, I didn't feel any kneading even when i asked for it to be firm. There was no effort whatsoever. I didn't like the service at all. In contrast, the facility was very nice with saunas and multi-jets showers. I liked that they use Gilchrist & Soames products. This is a review for the nail services provided at Equani Spa and nothing else. I will say that the spa itself was very nice and relaxing. The staff there treated us well, however, do not go here for their nail services. If I could, I would give this negative stars. We had 3 in our party to get manicures and pedicures for a wedding the following day. Two of us got French manicures and neither of our nails came out straight. They made them so thin you could hardly tell they'd been painted. They did not buff the nails at all and actually left our nails feeling like sand paper. For the other manicure in our party they did not remove her leftover acrylic but just painted over it making the nails look lumpy. The pedicures were a similar experience. Our nails were not buffed at all, they didn't clip them or remove cuticles and it was a very short, unsatisfying massage. On both the fingers and toes they didn't cover the entire nails with paint nor clean up the polish from the skin. We were very disappointed with their lack of skill and it was obvious they do not specialize in nails at all. One of them even said they hardly ever do nails and that she has a shaky hand! I don't understand why they bother to offer the service if they don't have anyone who's been trained. To top it all, they automatically included a $10 gratuity for the manicures and $12 gratuity for the pedicures. It was a total of $99 per person for a horrible job. read more

I got married at Brasstown Valley Resort and used the Equani Spa for my hair and makeup. I highly recommend Amber Lee and Jadrian at the spa! I did a trial before my wedding with Amber Lee. She asked a lot of questions about how I wanted my hair and makeup to look, as well as how I normally did my makeup and styled my hair. Both during the trial and on my wedding day, Amber Lee took her time and after each step, she showed me her work and asked for feedback/changes before moving on to the next step. I really appreciated her attention to detail and how well she listened to what I liked/didn't like. She made me feel like a more glammed-up, yet recognizable version of myself on my wedding day! Amber Lee also did my girls' and my mom's makeup. Jadrian did my girls', my mom's, and mother-in-law's hair. They both did an amazing job! The makeup Amber Lee did wasn't cakey but last the entire (HOT) day outside. My mom was worried the makeup might make her look older, but Amber Lee was also very skilled at doing mature skin. My girls' hair ranged from ear-length to bust-length. Jadrian did a phenomenal job creating formal hairstyles for all lengths! It was clear the two of them had been working together for a while and had a very good team dynamic. It felt like I had 2 of my girlfriends doing our hair and makeup, not strangers! read more

Mostly everyone is rude, the woman helping me with drink orders was nice. So overpriced. Tourist trap. Don't waste your time or money. Masseuse was very good but they take 3% of tips on top of what they make from the appointment. Kinda felt like just running through routine at some points, maybe cause they take 3% of their tip. Will not be back ever shame on these people for treating people so rudely and being so expensive to locals. They acted annoyed and so belittling. Management to front desk. I recently visited the Equani Spa and it was way overpriced for the service that you receive. I have been to many spas over the years and this one rates almost lowest. The facial and massage were ok but not great. A facial and a massage was over $300 which is steep for the experience of the staff. Very disappointed in my facial. I expected some pressure/effort on my face when applying the products. Instead it felt like a kid playing with face paint on my skin. I could have done it myself at home. Nothing special to it! Especially since they charge you a lot for these services. I guess I had my hopes up on a relaxing facial. What a beautiful experience! The spa is affiliated with the resort where we stayed for our anniversary so we called while on the way there to book for a pedicure. They were able to book me for the last open slot for the day. I thought the spa was in the resort but he mentioned it was across the street and we could take the hotel shuttle but we decided to drive. My DH dropped me off and they asked if i wanted to change into a robe and i agreed to which im glad i did. I really wanted a manicure too because my nails NEEDED to be done and they had a slot 30 minutes after my pedicure so that was great. Miss Pamela did my pedicure and it was so relaxing. I chose a pretty lilac color from the infinite shine line. During the 30 minutes while waiting for my mani, i went to the relaxation room where they have drinks like lemonade and nuts and chairs to lounge on. Then i got my mani using the same color as pedi. All in all very nice experience. Will return. Total for both was a little over $90 with gratuity included. read more

I had such high hopes for this place. I paid for a couples massage, 2 beers, and 2 glasses of wine. $375 would have been worth it at any of the other spas I've been to. But the facility was just not up to par with the price they charge. The men's and women's locker rooms have a steam room, sauna, and showers. But unfortunately all they have to offer outside of the locker room is a hot tub that had hair, dirt and bugs floating in it. I'm used to paying this much for nicer places. The actual massage, the masseuses, and the staff were amazing! But this spa needs work. read more

Excellent spa with resort prices (expensive). But, you get what you pay for. My wife and I had a great couples' massage. The facility is very nice and the staff is attentive and friendly. We noticed the hot tub was out of service which would have been a negative if we were counting on it. At this price point everything should be working all of the time. That's what down days are for. First spa trip ever! Was disappointed when I arrived at the spa only to discover the hot tub was not working and no one informed me. The shower stalls need a good cleaning, one had pieces of tile on the floor.I chatted with another guest and we both felt like we were on a self guided tour not knowing what to ask. The attendants and staff were very friendly and my massage was awesome, but I was disappointed it was not cleaner than my gym locker room. Can a 5 star spa really reside in the North Georgia mountains? YES it can! I've been to miiAmo in Sedona, AZ which is rated the top spa in the US and had lowered expectations for this visit. Not necessary! Equani Spa rivals the very best. The setting is breathtaking and the facilities are beautiful, but the jewel in Equani's crown is the staff. Our every needs were seen to. The services were exceptional. The quality of care was amazing. Pamela did our mani/pedis.... outstanding! James did my massage and it was the BEST massage I've had in over a decade. My husband had great things to say about Robin who did his. Winona was our facialist and she was beyond amazing. She noticed some kinks in my neck and worked those out like the pro that she is. Mike graciously attended to our needs in the relaxation room and we felt pampered like royalty. There were two other young ladies that attended to our needs as well and I regret not getting their names. Hubby and I shared the single most relaxing day we've had as we celebrated our 25 years of marriage at Brasstown Valley Spa and Resort (I reviewed the inn in another post) and it was completely due to our visit to Equani Spa! read more
