Holly was an amazing instructor. She gave us time to get comfortable with our horses. All of the horses there are beautiful and well taken care of. The stables were super clean too. Great experience. My daughter and I booked a trail ride. It was a much more authentic experience than most we have done. We were first shown around the stables. The horses are beautiful and well cared for. Holly was very nice and not only Interesting but interested in us. We had a very nice ride. We were able to go out with just Holly and the two of us which was nice. My daughter went back for a lesson to learn more about horses in general and the various forms of riding. Great experience. I posted this review a few months ago to Google but it looks like the owners are deleting bad reviews over there - These people basically tried to scam us. My fiance spoke to a woman over the phone to set up an appointment to look around and possibly take a ride. She told him to stop by the next day. He got called into work and couldn't make it. She proceeded to tell him that we now owe her $100 because she had to get the horse ready (which takes 10 minutes) and that he will never be allowed to go there to ride in the future. She did not inform us of any fees like this over the phone, nor did we ever sign or agree to anything. She actually thought we were going to drive down there and hand her $100 for nothing at all? I really hope other people are not falling for this and paying imaginary fees that pop up when the people working there have a tantrum over something as small as needing to cancel an appointment. I really enjoyed my morning with Holly and her horses. She let us feed one of the horses, gave us instructions, and brought us out on the trail. Holly was super friendly and the horses were really sweet and good with us having no riding experience. We took a peaceful walk through the woods; it was a good experience for two people who haven't been on horses in over 15 years. I'm planning on going back for some private sessions with Holly. Worst customer service ever! Don't even try to book it. I have a groupon for 2 people which need to be redeemed in time but everytime I call to schedule, no one picked up the phone. When I left a voicemail, no one called me back. Everytime I got to speak with someone, the girl always said it's booked up or the weather is bad. So I had to wait until one day before it expired because of the reasons mentioned above. The girl picking up gave me an attitude and kept repeating "all booked up booked up booked up" She was blatantly rude to me and I had to ask specifically for what time and which day. She said since my groupon will expire there will be an up charge for $10 and $6 for the horse and since my groupon if for2 people. It will be $32 in total. And I had to ask her for the total amount because she was unwilling to talk to me and said that this a a good deal since it will be $40 to ride a horse. I was polite and patient and this is what I got. No apology, nothing. I can't believe it. After the call I was still baffled by how rude she was. read more

Ah- the joys of yelp, and how it goes to show that- often- it is the customer herself who has a greater impact on her experience (whether it be positive or negative) than the business. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. My mom and I have been riding regularly for about five years now, so when the Groupon opportunity came up, we hopped on board. Horseback riding can be expensive, and the beauty of Groupon is that you can try a place- generally without too great of a commitment- before deciding if you'd like to invest more of your money. Equine Boulevard appears to be the extension of a residential home, so trust your GPS where it directs you. There were a few outdoor rings, as well as a stable where the horses reside, a large in ground pool, and a few different gathering areas. Apparently they host events and parties in addition to the rides/lessons. In good weather, I could see this place being great for a birthday or engagement party. I'm not sure how much of the business is based in events, but there seem to be a lot of great possibilities if you're looking for something not so cookie-cutter. Upon parking on the grass, we entered the stable and found Holly. Holly sized us up immediately. A lot of people say they can ride, and then show up for their first experience in flip flops, or something similar (an egregious offense). Mom and I were in the requisite jeans, boots, and helmets, and appeared to pass the test quickly, being trusted to lead horses to mount, as well as put them away in their stalls. (We really appreciated that part of the experience.) Our trail ride consisted of woods, as well as a field, and then a grassy area behind a school. Due to the constraints of Groupon's insurance, as well as the inexperience of other riders with us, we were restricted to walk our horses only, but you can ride at a faster gait if you are a) capable and b) taking a sort of lesson. Holly did ask if we rode English or Western, and though we are well-versed in both, I prefer Western. She was happy to fulfill my request for a Western saddle, and I rode Montana who had a wonderful forward motion. He was also quite comical, playing with- rather than drinking- the water before we started out on trail. Krista led our ride and was very conscientious that each rider was safe and comfortable; she checked in with each of us regularly. Unlike other facilities in which we have ridden, the horses all seemed to get along very well, and there was no biting, kicking, or even near-misses. The ceiling of the entryway of the stable was laden with hung ribbons, and from what Krista related, Holly is quite adept at competition. Most importantly, the horses seemed happy and well-cared for. I plan to ride here again, and will definitely take advantage of some private time/instruction. I should add that- due to the unfortunate hospitalization of my father- the folks here were very quick to accommodate our ride, considering we scheduled on fairly short notice, needing to do so before he is to return home. Lastly- for those of you who are not horse people- please understand that horses are a vast and infinite landscape to traverse. Similar to playing a musical instrument, you can practice for years and still never master the craft. Expectations are an important part of the outcome of one's experience, and should be kept to a minimum. As someone who understands- and loves!- the feeling of wind whipping through my hair at a gallop, I still appreciate a slow and steady walk. read more

I found this place by LivingSocial coupon for a 30 min ride. I was super excited since I love horses & my bf has only ridden once when he was younger. If you decide to try this place out, follow your GPS & keep a look out for the sign. The place is in the middle of a residential area, pushed back between houses. Once we arrived & parked on gravel/grass, we walked across to the building. Holly was already on a ride (we arrived about 20mins early). You have to sign paperwork & they prefer you bring a printed copy of the coupon. I had it on my phone & her assistant wrote down the number. FYI, bring $5ea to rent a helmet or you can bring your own. While we waited, we were chatting w/one of her assistants & she indicated they only use 4 horses for the trail. Well there were 6 of us in our group, not including Holly. So they ended up bringing other horses, which made me a lil nervous for the people who never rode before. But Holly was very professional, stern & took everyone's experience into consideration & matched us up with horses. I, being the only somewhat experienced one was paired up with what I assume was a stubborn or sensitive horse (based on comments that were being made about him on the trail), but I didn't mind, he was great & he even showed me some affection. Before the ride, she gave out a few instructions on how to mount, sit, hold the reins, direct & stop the horse. Holly & her assistants were very attentive, asking about every 5-10 mins, is everyone okay, letting us know when rocks or logs were coming up & to trust the horse. She took us through the woods that opened up into a field, but we walked on the side of the field, we weren't allowed to get out of line or go out into the field, which I was bummed about. After the ride, Holly offered, to take pictures, free of charge & offered snacks. My suggestions for Holly to ehance the experience, would be to allow riders to ride the horses in the fenced areas before going on the trail. My opinion for a customer would be, if you're an experienced rider, this might not be for you, but if you're a beginner, I think it would be exciting. read more

If you want a place where money comes first, then safety, health and care of the animals, and attention to the needs of clients, this is the place for you! Constant penny pinching which directly conflicts with the well being of both the students and animals. Half assed dressage ring made for clients to avoid losing money, not because Holly is a dressage trainer. Extremely rude and combative with clients, boarders and staff. Slandered former employee with horrendous allegations causing them to lose their new job after not being paid minimum wage despite hours worked, citing that the employee was an instructor only, not an hourly employee. Groupon deal is a joke. Just don't even bother with this place. read more

My wife and I purchased a Groupon for a Romantic Horseback Ride for Two and when we arrived, we realized that we'd been here before and were just hoping it was as great as that experience had been! It was a lovely and perfect time, walking through the serene and beautiful woods and field with Holly. She took great pictures of us and the horses with our phone to keep forever. I wasn't impressed. Having ridden many places, the horse I rode (forget the name) did not want to move forward or listen to me. Both my friend and I are experienced equestrians and we were shocked that we were pushed onto English. I had to fight to ride Western and only had one horse that was available. The trail itself was ok. The ride seemed short and we didn't trot much even though we were both experienced and the only ones on the ride. I may go back here, but I have a lot of mixed feelings. read more

We purchased a Groupon for a 40-45 minute trail ride for 4 people. My sister-in-law bought the same for her family. We thought it would be a fun fall family outing, but were extremely disappointed with the experience. I called Equine Boulevard and spoke to Holly before purchasing the Groupon to make sure my 6 year old could participate. I called 7 weeks ahead to reserve a time for our party of 8. I spoke to Holly for quite a while to set up the date and time and discuss the ability/ages of the riders. The first two dates that I asked about were booked, so she recommended the date and time that I ultimately reserved . During the call, I let her know that it was important that our 2 groups of 4 ride together. She told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that it was just the right number of people for a good ride. We were all, especially the children, looking forward to the experience. When we arrived at the scheduled time, we learned that our reservation had been lost. We were told that they would fit us in, but our group would have to be split into two groups of 4. Holly was incredibly rude and, it seemed, made every effort possible to make us feel unwelcome. We waited for an hour and a half to be "fit in" and every half hour, when she returned from a ride, we were treated to Holly muttering audibly to herself about all the people showing up without a reservation. It was clear that, despite the error she made with our reservation, she was referring to our group. When our first group of 4 saddled up for their ride, she complained about the inexperience of our kids - neither she nor Groupon indicated that riding experience was necessary for this adventure, but her huffs and comments made it clear she was not happy that some of the kids in our group had not ridden alone before. The group went out and returned 25 minutes later. My husband, 6 year old son, 10 year old nephew and I were in the second group. She complained about my son being so young and took him on her horse riding in front of her. My husband asked if he could have his own horse (referring to what I was told when I spoke to her 7 weeks prior), and she snapped at him about safety and the age of my son. I guess safety wasn't her primary concern when she answered 4 cell phone calls during our short ride! I was particularly annoyed when one of those calls was about a couple who had "driven from 3 states away" to ride. She told her assistant to make sure they were OK, she was upset that they had to wait because of unexpected problems and wanted to make sure they were OK. She asked the assistant to bring them drinks and make them comfortable while they waited. It would have been nice if she had made some effort to make our party of 8 comfortable during our wait. Our ride, which was supposed to be 40-45 minutes, was exactly 22 minutes (half of what I had paid for!). I didn't complain, because we had so many children with us, and they were excited to take whatever ride we could, but I don't feel that we received the service we had paid for. I've stayed at a number of horse hotels, and Equine Blvd has been my best experience. My husband and I stayed here with our horse, dog, and cat while making a winter cross-country move. We ended up staying two nights because of a weather delay, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip--it felt like a vacation. Holly and her daughter were so wonderful and accommodating. I was very dissatisfied with my experience at Equine Boulevard. My boyfriend and I thought it would be a romantic date and a fun experience at the same time. When we first got there everything was okay; we were offered cider but yet declined. The young instructors' horse was hooked to my boyfriends horse the entire time while my horse and I struggled to keep up. My horse and I were about 20-30 feet behind the instructors and my partners., it was very uncomfortable. She only a couple times stopped to wait for me as I caught up. I thought it would be him and I riding together following her lead, yet I felt so left out. The young instructor (didn't catch her name) was chatting up my boyfriend and asking questions I felt were none of her business and rudely leaving me behind and out of the picture. It was very unprofessional and I do NOT recommend Equine Boulevard for any reason whether it be lessons or just trying to have a good ride. read more

Truly amazing. I have been going to this barn since I was six years old. I am now 16. I have watched the ups and downs of this barn and have gone through many ups and downs in my riding. Hands down a truly wonderful place, I could never consider switching. Holly (head trainer) trains me and many other students in jumping and equitation riding. She has taught me so much and I couldn't thank her enough! She has a gorgeous outdoor jumping ring, Grand Prix field, indoor arena and the stables are mesmerising! She also holds a summer camp in the July-August months and let me tell you, I assist in them and the kids are never not smiling!! They leave the barn having an increased knowledge of horses and, of course, they had a ton of fun along the way. This place is also perfect for anybody wanting trail rides, lessons, summer camps and even birthday parties and corporate events! The horses come first always and their care is our number one priority. me being here for so long, I have witnessed the many smiling faces as customers come back from trail rides. I always put my best foot forward to help in any way I can to make sure everybody is safe, happy and enjoying their time! Who wouldn't want to come ride a horse? Equine Blvd. is 100% my top recommendation for anybody wanting a perfect equestrian experience. read more

We purchased a deal through Groupon for a party of 4. A really great deal too. Holly (the owner) was very nice. However, she appeared to be just going through the motions. Didn't really make us feel like she was glad to have our business. The ride was beautiful, horses were calm, ride time length was about 40-45 minutes. One thing that did annoy me was she charged us $5.00 to use riding helmets that barely fit and she had a sign posted that read riding helmet rental $3.50, but she still charged us $5.00. I didn't argue simply because it was the end of the night and my children were with us. I didn't want to end our family event on a sour note. I just took the additional amount for the helmets out of her tip. I still would reccommend going as we did enjoy ourselves. read more

I have taken equitation lessons at other stables over the years, Equine Blvd remains the BEST riding stable I have been too. The barn is spotless, the grounds are beautifully maintained, the waterfall adds a relaxing touch, and Leo (the dog) greets you!! The horses are beautiful, healthy, and friendly. Holly will use different horses depending on your riding level, I continue to learn with each lesson given by Holly, she is an amazing teacher and rider. A beautiful walk through their grand prix field is the perfect way to end your lesson!!! read more

Today a friend and I visited Equine Boulevard in Agawam for the first time. We learned about Equine Boulevard through an offer posted on Amazon Local. After purchasing a voucher through Amazon Local, we made an appointment for a trail ride with owner Holly Thompson. As we drove up to the grounds, we were impressed by the beautiful and tranquil setting with expansive fields and woods. Holly greeted us and collected the required paperwork. She assessed our riding experience (novice) and we proceeded to meet the horses and get ready for our ride. We had to wear helmets for safety. Holly talked to us about the basics of horse behavior and maintaining safety. The horses were beautiful and very well cared for. We rode Montana and Doctor, very gentle horses. The ride was fun, Holly led us through wooded trails, highlighting a scenic pond and other points of interest, including an open green field...the perfect backdrop for pictures. It was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. read more

STAY FAR AWAY! this place is a total joke first off plan on leaving message after message just to make an appointment, not because they are busy but because ms. Thompson is rarely ever there so scheduling works around her vacation schedules. when you finally get a date and bring your excited children she starts off by scamming another $5 per rider for a helmet rental which I would find justifiable however these helmets were well over 10 yrs old falling apart and missing clips . then we finally get on the horses after watching her screaming at the one other person who slaves to her every need underpaid im sure and begin our ride she then yells back to the help to get two ropes and we wait for a minute then she takes one rope clips it to the horse my son was on whom mind you was 16 and has rode horses since the age of 5 , saying it was because the horse was new and she didn't know how it would react in the woods! then clipped the other rope to my horse as she pulled us along side the horse she was on now if this wasn't enough she also answered personal phone calls while on this "trail ride" which mind you is a field that leads to a school to another field, not a forest as she advertises. as for the person who responded below claiming to be ms Thompson which it clearly is not her the last comment from beth r was NOT your only negative feedback there are many more on many other business sites as well as filtered ones on here. I also personally know someone whom used to board there horse there and removed the horse because it was not being treated right . read more

A friend and I recently took advantage of an Amazon Local offer of a fall trail ride for 2 people at Equine Boulevard. We enjoyed our experience very much. When we arrived for our scheduled time, we were met almost immediately by Holly, the owner. She was very pleasant and questioned us about our previous riding experience (which was not very much for either of us) while walking to the barn. She brought in one of the horses and let us brush him - something we really enjoyed - while she got the second one ready. Holly was very informative and explained everything she was doing while saddling up the horses - proper positioning of the saddle, etc - but never made us feel that she was talking down to us. The trails went through woods and a grassy meadow where Holly was kind enough to take some pictures of us with my friend's iphone. She kept checking back with us during the ride to make sure we were both doing OK and warned of any low hanging branches to watch out for. Our horses were gentle, very well behaved and at no point did we feel unsafe. The barn was clean, the horses appeared well-cared for and Holly was very nice and helpful. All in all, it was a very positive experience and we hope to be able to return in the future. read more
