This location is one of the OG Sports Club/LA locations. It is pretty mammoth. It has everything you need to get a work out, plus amenities, etc. I have worked out here a few times with my nationwide membership and I have found it easy to get a workout in and it is never too crowded. The place is well maintained, too. My one "however" is that if you are looking for a completely modern vibe, the Century City location was built more "recently" and ha smore of that cavernous layout that you see at newer Equinox's, whereas this one is quite large, but the space is more broken up into smaller workout spaces - nothing wrong, just a little different. read more

The West LA location is unfortunately the most poorly maintained Equinox facility I've experienced. I upgraded my membership for the high-end amenities, but the cleanliness here feels closer to a standard budget gym. My recent visit was entirely unhygienic--there was dirt and hair floating in the jacuzzi, and discarded, used cotton swabs were left sitting on the locker room counters. For a luxury club with premium membership rates, the lack of basic maintenance and staff oversight is unacceptable. read more

Feels like most people give poor reviews for the high membership price and the very long term contract. The contract for sure is terrible but not sure what to do there. They got a semi monopoly on high end many location full service gyms. Getting over that my experience here is amazing. Sure you can complain about crowded locker rooms and cleanliness but on the whole the shower pressure is amazing, appreciate the use of the sauna and steam rooms. Users need to hold themselves to a higher standard of not making these spaces dirty by wearing sneakers into sauna and leaving band aids in showers. Loved the trainers like Patrick who offered an amazing swim coaching PT which got me back into swimming. The group classes are high quality. The instructors know what they are doing. I esp like the restorative classes like gentle yoga. read more

I was harrassed in the locker room as someone took a photo of me without my clothes on, despites having 4 witnesses and complaining and despite signs displayed everywhere in the woman's locker room saying no phones, they not only addressed the issue, but said you "felt" someone took you photo and then said you had no witnesses. When I forwarded the dated official complaint, they retracted and said we have talked to your witnesses. First they alleged there was no witness then they had talked to them .The person managing this place Shoranka is very sleepery and will stoop to any lies to uphold her position. This place is scary. despite signs in the locker rooms stating no phones are allowed, they told me that it was more than okay for members to have their phones in teh sauna or hot tub. Recently I had asked one of the member to kindly not bring her cell into the sauna, as I had the photo taking issue in the past, she harrassed me extensively and equinox did nothing to protect me and instead further accused me of physical altercation, when I denied it they said they meant verbal issues. How crazy is the manager Shoranka and the whole system of not standing up for what is right. Despite signs in the locker rooms stating no phones are allowed, they told me that it was more than okay for members to have their phones in the sauna or hot tub. The sauna locikers and entire spa is outdated, dirty and hardly cleaned, they don't fix broken stuff and just leave it as it. For the price you dont get much service here. This Equinox is probably one of the better ones in the LA area but they don't always maintain the women's restroom (see photo). The main gym area is spacious, employees are friendly, decent class offerings and nice cafe/restaurant area. If it weren't for the cleanliness of the women's locker room this location would be a solid 4-4.5 stars in my opinion. read more

We went to try Equinox today and were a bit disappointed. We thought we would get a tour but they just showed us the locker rooms and we ended up touring by ourselves. The gym is huge and there is a lot of equipment so it never looked to crowded which felt pretty nice. The lockers and pool area were not as clean as we expected for a the price. We had a pretty decent workout expect for all the stoppers being broken and one machine being completely loose (we told a staff member but nothing was done - not even a sign). the rooftop area is super nice and well equipped. Overall we were not entirely convinced but when we realized that parking was 2$... even for regular members. Sadly we will definitely not sign up for Equinox. read more

I've been paying for an Equinox membership for over a year and a half -- thousands of dollars -- without ever stepping foot into a club until today. When I purchased my membership, I was told it included access to all Southern California locations, with the only exceptions being Century City and one in Orange County. That promise was a big part of why I joined. Today, excited to finally use what I've been paying for, I went to the Sepulveda location. To my shock, I was told I couldn't work out there because it wasn't part of my plan. After waiting this long and paying this much, that's the "welcome" I received from Equinox. Even if my membership didn't technically cover this club, the courteous and professional response would have been: "We're sorry for the confusion, go ahead and use the gym today, but next time please visit one of the locations included in your plan." That's customer service. Instead, I was flatly denied access. Only after I mentioned canceling my membership was the tone softened -- but by then, the damage was done. Equinox sells itself as a luxury brand. Luxury isn't just shiny buildings -- it's professionalism, honesty, and treating members with respect. After paying for over a year without using the gym once, the least I deserved on my very first visit was courtesy, not a brush-off. Equinox should ask itself: is this really how you treat your members? Because right now, the experience doesn't match the premium price tag. read more

The equipment is outdated, treadmill buttons were broken, for $300 a month or whatever extortionist price they charge, not worth it. I pay $69 per month at the Westwood YMCA and have better facilities. The front desk staff were really rude and unwelcoming. Used the sauna's, which were so packed we had to leave. Overall, the club has a pool and sports facilities which is cool, but not worth it in my opinion. read more

The Equinox Sports Club is definitely starting to show its age and that's not a good thing. The vibe here is 90's cool, but if you're looking for those dark wood tones and moody spaces, The Equinox Sports Club is not for you. It's a huge property. The largest Equinox location in Los Angeles, but the space usage is not very efficient. The parking garage has the smallest spots known to man. Parking is validated with the destination membership, but you want to make sure they stamp you with the right stamp. Otherwise, it's $2 for 2 or 3 hours I believe. You can also valet if you want to be a douche and park you're sports car out front. The lobby is very big, but inefficient. The space usage is rather pointless since there isn't a restaurant/lounge there anymore. It's used more as a co-working space, but not really appropriate since its very loud. The spa and the shop are definitely full size spaces, unlike at other Equinox locations. The locker rooms are on the first floor and they are definitely sizable, even though it still felt cramp because of the space usage. They have executive lockers that have key code access, but you're already paying almost $400/month so is it worth it? You walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor which consists of the weights machines, free weights, squat racks and some stretching areas. It's also where the studios are for yoga, group fitness and pilates as well as access to the pool. The studios felt large, but the free weights did feel cramped. Again, inefficient space usage. You go up to the 3rd floor which overlooks the 2nd floor with a variety of cardio equipment as well as your ab machines. On the front side of floor two is the full size basketball court and racquetball court. I did not go up to the roof because I couldn't find the access, but my understanding is they do have TRX set up on the roof along with a pickleball court. My wish for this location is that they update the space and bring it in line with the current Equinox aesthetic, but that might be too much to ask. It definitely feels like a missed opportunity to make this the destination location that Equinox desperately wants the Century City location to be, but lacks the space for it to be. Ultimately, you alone have to determine whether the value is there for this location. For me, if this is your primary location and you don't plan on utilizing the destination access, then the answer would be no. However, if you plan on utilizing the other Equinox locations other than Century City which is another tier up, then it might be worth it, but with the caveat that they should and need to update this location and upkeep this location. read more

Paige, who was incredibly nice when signing me up failed to provide the proper instructions for cancellation causing me to pay a whole other month of fees. When I escalated it to her manager Taje- she called me only to be incredibly condescending and rude with no acknowledgement of the mistake on their part. When I wrote to the general manager of the club- there was no response or acknowledgement once again. The gym itself is nice but the equipment and design of the club is outdated for the price - when I took my husband as a guest - he had a terrible experience as the locker rooms were full of entitled high school kids yelling at each other in the steam room- providing no place for relaxation. You also have to pay for parking after paying the membership fee- which makes no sense read more

Destination Access = poors like me who only have SoCal access can't get in lol. Day passes are $35 and you do have to pay for parking. Womp womp. A whole star off because the bathroom amenities were unstocked. 3 sinks had no soap in the dispensers. No hair ties to be found. Rooftop has AstroTurf and TRX rig-esque set up with pushing carts. There's a lap pool, sauna and steam room. But steam room doesn't smell like eucalyptus. 3rd- all cardio and some random cable weights/ no ski trainer which was kinda lame 2nd- free weight/cable weights-- 2 squat racks, 1 smith, and the beloved plate loaded hip thrust machine. People don't wipe down their machinery at all. Gym etiquette is lacking-- STOP STANDING IN FRONT OF THE DUMBBELL RACKS. Take a step back. Also: are members stealing resistance bands? I found 2 to use and was told to put them back in the office after. DTLA location has a corner dedicated to different resistance bands in the stretch area, I'm talking 10+ options. This place barely had any. Final verdict: Would I pay extra to come here? Honestly, no. It wasn't cleaner, or better in any sense of enhancing my workout. It was an ok first time experience but doesn't beat my home location. read more

I've been to other Equinox gyms across Socal, so I figured I would give this one a try since my GF has the Socal All Access Membership. Here's my thoughts on this West LA Equinox. - Front desk woman was rude and gave us attitude when we asked if they validated parking. Apparently only VIP members get parking validated, even though my GF has all access for Socal and pays $350+ a month for her membership. - The change rooms were packed and there was a mess everywhere. There was water on the floors and it smelled like BO. Most of the people were walking around like it was an LA homeless shelter in there. - The gym itself was rather clean, and there was plenty of equipment, but many of the machines were dirty and not wiped down. The gym itself also looked outdated along with much of the equipment. - There is NO WATER, no water bottles, no water dispensers, if you want water bring your own or a bottle to get some by the fountains if you want to catch a cold from the last person sucking on the tip. - Parking is not free unless you have VIP membership. It's $2 for the first 3 hours and if you pay with your credit card they charge you an additional $1. There is no machine or anything, the attendant takes your card with his cracked iPhone. Kinda sad if you're already paying $350 a month for the membership. Overall this Equinox is like if you ordered Equinox from Wish, it's basically like your average LA Fitness or Golds, but 5x the membership cost. read more

I joined recently and I love the facility. I don't use the weight room much so I don't really care about the machines and I don't believe they are the latest and greatest. However the quality and the choice of classes are the level I was looking for. I like the facilities too with the steam, sauna, jacuzzi. I have yet to try the pool but overall, I'm loving it. I was a member of the Marina location for 5 years but the classes became boring to me and the room was too small for the amount of people joining. That was pre-Covid so it might be different now. I removed 1 star only because parking should be free for members. It's a pain to park. read more

I've been on and off member for a long time so I have seen this gym's evolution. I usually take classes, use cardio machines, and occasionally use the pool. I do not lift weights or use any of the machines on the open floor so will not comment on those. First off, clean and huge. I've read comments about how unclean it's been especially in the women's locker room and they must have addressed the issue because it's clean. Sad that Kiehl's products are gone but the replacements are not bad. Amenities are all there, can't complain. Plenty of staff walking around picking up wet towels and stocking clean ones, wiping surfaces and moping floors. They used to come around with cold water in disposable cups for all members at the cardio machines, but no more. The women locker room has not changed since the 90s but well maintained. The class rooms are huge, they have great passionate teachers, and fun classes. On parking yes $2 each time for regular members but the mall charges $4 and this is LA...and I'm sure you've noticed there are plenty of street parking, the gym occupies the entire block, wouldn't be too hard to park on the street for free, and maybe walk half a block. I don't understand the comments about the reception being rude or with attitude. They check you in, that's all. Were you expecting a red carpet to roll out? They smile and wish you a good work out, that's plenty for me. Overall, an expensive gym but if you use the amenities (pool, basketball court, pickle ball, weights etc), take classes, laps in the pool, hop on cardio machines or sunbathe on the roof, it is well worth it. read more

Called in to pause my account for three months during a move, assured me everything was fine, only to continue charging me for an additional two months - a total of just over $700. I figured no big deal, ill call back and have them refund it. Talked to Paige and to be honest, just the worst person to manage relationships with. She just talks over you, is extremely rude, and did everything she could just to blame me for it instead of taking any ownership on what they could have done differently. I finally just said forget it and decided to cancel with these guys because of it. Just a nightmare experience I will never stand for & will always take my business elsewhere. read more

I've been an equinox member for years and unfortunately, this is the closest gym to my work. In terms of value, I would recommend not spending the extra money on destination access because the sports club is barely nicer than a planet fitness/ gym of a comparable price point. In terms of the equipment, it is rusted and decaying. The staff is very friendly but completely inept when faced with very simple tasks (making sure the locker room floors aren't a swimming pool and finding lost items). I never thought I would see 8 people fall in a locker room because of the wet floor within 20ish minutes, even when they were wearing sandals. Moreover, there isn't a running cafe despite there being a literal bar and kitchen in the lobby. I truly would recommend going ANYWHERE else. read more

I unfortunately fell victim to theft at this location on Friday. My Rolex was stolen out of my gym bag in a secure locker / I have come here for years and this was the first time this has happened. I write this post not to feel bad for myself but to warn other members. For the price I pay monthly (most expensive gym in LA) I guess I was naive to think my possessions were safe in my locker. Equinox of course takes zero responsibility and just said they've escalated it to their asset protection team. I doubt they'll warn their members and I cannot be the first person this happened to. No signs of break in so it was either a professional that can pick the lock or an employee with a master key. I guess I was targeted, such a violation and shame. read more

This is the worst equinox in all of Los Angeles. It shouldn't be a destination location. I can write a list about all the horrible things wrong with this place but one thing I'll say is that the female maintenance women in the locker room yell at you when you don't leave the locker room by 9:45pm on weeknights. They bang on the showers for you to get out at 9:30, way before the time to get out of the showers. At the century city location, they allow people to linger a bit and respect your time as long as you leave before the club closes. This place has the most horrible maintenance in the world. The women maintenance in that locker room should be fired for their aggressive and poor manners. read more

I've been going here for almost a year now and my membership ends next month. I called them to cancel my membership at the end of next month when my agreement ends. They decided to charge me $120 without notifying me why and refused to give me a refund. When I decided to sign up, they were so kind attentive, but the moment I signed the contract, they stopped caring about my experience: They don't care about the people that go to the gym, they don't care about up keeping the gym. They only care about getting the most money out of the people that go there. If you have any concerns or complaints, they don't want to hear it. Over the past year, all of my favorite instructors have left because they barely get paid to do their job. And the showers are always missing hair care and body wash products and they're always dirty. They also have no AC in the gym. It feels like a sauna in there at all times and it's miserable.
