I've been a long time customer for years, but I don't think I'll be coming back after my last class. They keep overbooking classes to the point you're so crammed in it's claustrophobic and you cannot perform the routine properly. I understand they want to give more people opportunity to join and make money, but it ruins the experience for those who book ahead of time. I'd rather be notified the class is overbooked than to show up and barely fit everyone's yoga mats. One of their rooms is smaller and it seems to always be that one they overbook. read more

My favorite yoga studio in the whole world. Like the name suggests, this place is HOT but I always leave feeling amazing. I've had an unlimited membership ever since the Brentwood location opened and it is most definitely worth the money! There are 6 types of classes available (all hot) but differing levels for newcomers/veterans. The studio is so nice and big/clean. Available mats/towels for rent + free cold face towels. Amazing teachers and staff who truly understand the meaning of community (shoutout Matt and Clarissa!). Will forever continue supporting and raving about this studio. read more

I've tried multiple locations (2nd st Santa Monica, sawtelle, possibly Hollywood ages ago) over about a decade - I can finally say I'm done trying Hot 8 and can't recommend to anyone whether trying to establish a new yoga practice or just to pick up a one-off class. Very much a gym vibe vs yoga studio: packed, loud, not a relaxing or high vibration environment, lots of instructors who've gotten their hours and landed a fitness job vs instructors devoted to teaching and deepening the practice of their students. I think Hot 8 might've started as an accessible bikram branch-off for ppl w/o much yoga experience and the 26 & 2/power classes are really the lane they should stay in for the hurried fitness folk this business seems to cater to. Monday night Yin is a joke, distracted instructor who you can't hear over volume of soundtrack, minimal use of props, people getting up throughout class (at least 4-5 times) to open the door - this is only 60min of very low intensity at lower temperature, no one should be disrupting class like that except to leave for good. Also never a chance to enjoy a decent savasana at end of any class because the next class has to stampede in as soon as instructor's finished to try to get a decent spot as all classes are overcrowded. Post-covid especially it's an upper respiratory virus nightmare. TLDR: if it's your first time ever or first time back after ages, buy a single class. They are definitely making tons off that $35 unlimited starting week. read more

Tbh I really struggled w writing this review bc I was so sore from class. Julia Barsocchini rocked my friggin doggone WORLD !!! Wow. Hold on. I need to collect myself. Can't breathe it was 110 degrees like 50 percent humidity felt like I was in Jurassic park homie jungle yoga type stuff !! Crazy. Also this amazing !! young yoga instructor from NYC named Casey idk her last name kinda hot and challenged me deeply. I am reconsidering my entire approach to not only yoga but life after this. I walked out of class because this place STINKS, literally. The smell from the floor was so nauseating that it was hard to concentrate or get energized into a good workout. They really need to step up their cleaning standards. I came to class early and I saw that they 1) didn't wipe down the floor, 2) took a tiny wipe for all the weights, just basically skimming the surface, 3) there is sweat and water all over the floor outside (not only is this gross, but also a safety issue), and 4) the bathroom floor was also wet, and the used towels and trash were overflowing. I don't understand why Hot 8 continues to maintain their current flooring despite some of the consistent negative feedback on their flooring. It's filthy. Peak into the spaghetti floors see the debris yourself. So unfortunate because I love hot yoga and this place is so close to my house. I really wish I could be a regular here but unless they change their flooring and cleaning standards, I won't be returning. read more

Hot 8 Yoga was my introduction to any hot yoga class, so I had no point of reference. I've since tried other similar studios, and this one remains my favorite due to the instructors, cleanliness, overall ambiance, amenities, and heat level. They put a lot of work into making this a great experience. My favorite classes are Sculpt and Barre. A lot more challenging than one would expect, but you feel incredible after. I would say the barre class is the toughest one here. The instructors are all upbeat and motivating. The temperature is usually set to over 100 degrees. Bring water and take rests as you need. They have mats and towels for rent at an additional charge. They also have lockers with combination locks to store your stuff as well as showers. Parking is free with validation. read more

I kept seeing my friend post about hot 8 yoga on her Instagram stories so I yelped it & found this studio in my neighborhood (what are the odds)! I decided to sign up for the week pass. Parking is free for 2 hrs with validation with lots of spots available. The studio is VERY clean! Staff is VERY warm & welcoming! Within the week I took two sculpt classes with Dani, she's very high energy which pumps you up to keep pushing through the class. She's also very sweet & stopped me after class to introduce herself & get to know me because she realized I was new. The class itself was hard. I lift weights, spin, hike, etc & was still struggling, but I left class both times feeling accomplished & capable of doing hard things which had a positive impact on the rest of my day. I ended up signing up for a membership & I'm really excited to see just how strong I can get with these classes! read more

That was the worst hot yoga class I have ever taken in my life. I have been doing yoga sculpt at CorePower Yoga for the past three years at least twice a week. I decided to try yoga sculpt at Hot 8 Yoga and the heat was at an unsafe level, people were looking like they were going to pass out 15 minutes into class. Barely anyone was able to keep up and you had multiple people leaving the class multiple times during the class. I think it is very irresponsible of the instructors and the franchise to be allowing people to perform yoga and weighted moves with that kind of heat. Have your instructors go to CorePower Yoga and see how hot the room should actually be, it should be a nice level of heat, but not a "you're going to pass out and die" kind of heat. read more

This is my favorite location and favorite workout studio! I've been coming for years now and Matt has been the most friendly person at the front desk every single time! I went to one of his classes and was so much fun and such a great workout. He is such a great teacher! Hit 8 Yoga sculpt and barre classes are my favorite, although I took all of their classes my first week and enjoyed them all. Everyone is so friendly, the facilities are so clean, and parking is SO EASY! I know, parking in LA being easy sounds too good to be true, but it's true. The best part? They have eucalyptus scented cold towels ready for you after classes. It feels so good after such a great workout. 10/10 people, classes and facilities. Thank you! read more

I began classes with a little skepticism and ended up recognizing the value of the classes taught at this center. The professionalism, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the diversity of classes... I couldn't recommend it more. Last year I had to convalesce with a broken foot and I was able to appreciate the strength and balance that, thanks to hot8yoga Brentwood, helped me so much to move around with a cast on my leg ;) Classes with Leon, Daniela, Sage, Omar, and so many others are really worth a try. The most polarizing thing about hot yoga is simply the heat. People will always complain that it's either too hot or not hot enough. I appreciate that you know what you're expecting going to Hot 8. If you're a newbie to hot yoga I would recommend trying other hot yoga studios to ease into it or know what to expect going here for the first time - it is ~112 degrees (most studios run from 80-90ish degrees). Plenty of parking and it's validated which is gold especially in LA. The facility is clean and spacious. I don't feel like I'm squeezing for space in both the class and in between lockers to gather your items like many other studios. The cold eucalyptus towels are the best treat afterwards! read more

Temperature is at 112 degrees so there's always a few people that can't take it and leave the class. The door slams so much. It's very distracting when people exit to enter, especially during shavasana. I had to make a review because a girl in my class dropped her DUMBBELL right on my shoulder during shavasana. OW! The instructor was the one that told me to move near the dumbbell rack. She saw the entire thing. All she did was say to the class "everyone be careful as there are people near the dumbbell rack". She didn't ask if I was okay after. No phone call. Only corporate marketing lady that offered me a free week of class. Horrible place. Not relaxing at all read more

I love how spacious the studios and locker rooms are! The instructors are amazing and I love how they crank up the heat. I always leave there feeling so much better mentally and physically. I really want to like this studio. I've started coming to Hot 8 about nine years ago when Francesca and Julia were instructors at Beverly Hills. I was glad to see that a studio would be opening in Brentwood because it's very close to my house. Also glad to see that there's a 7:30 26 & 2 class on weekends. Very convenient for me. However, it doesn't seem like it's possible to actually get the room hot when the front door doesn't open until 7:25 and class is at 7:30 unless the heater is left on overnight. I'm writing this as I just had a 7:30 am 26 & 2 class that was about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Yes it got slightly warm after about an hour and fifteen. Here's the thing about hot yoga: it's supposed to be hot. You can spend $3M building out the space, pay $8k rent, hire great instructors (and they are GREAT) but if there's no heat, it's not hot yoga. That's like if you opened a hamburger stand and didn't cook the patties. That's not the product. We pay $200/month for a studio that has heat or doesn't have heat. It's unpredictable. Also, here's my take, after fifteen years of doing hot yoga: if you make the studio just a little hotter than people like it, they'll complain but THEY WILL BE BACK TOMORROW. If it's not hot enough, they won't complain; they just won't come back, and you'll have classes with six people in them which is probably not what you want. So yeah, here's the deal: you're SO close. The space is great, the amenities are great, the staff are great, the instructors are the best, just bring the heat. /gauntlet read more

By far this is my favorite hot yoga studio in all of LA! I loved the location in Sherman Oaks and I'm so happy this one opened in my office building. I recently tried their $8 welcome week special and took Barre with Bianca, Sculpt with Ashby, Power with Dani and Valerie, as well Sip & Sculpt with Jane Johnson. It's a little smaller than the Sherman Oaks location with 2 studios and 2 showers, but I found the classes just as energizing and fun! I got $30 off the first month of their 5 class membership package. I can't wait to take more classes read more

Love this hot 8 yoga location. Did a class with an instructor Marina and really really loved it. Her energy was great.

I have been taking classes at this location for a year. There are some fantastic instructors and very much enjoy those classes. However, the studio doesn't follow its own policy on not allowing late entry into class. Multiple classes have involved asking participants practicing yoga to stop doing so and to make space for late students. The most egregious example of this happened with a yin yoga class where the first 5 minutes was the door slamming shut repeatedly as many late students entered and the instructor kept asking current participants to make space. At the 7 minute mark, I had fully relaxed into my current yoga pose and was grounding myself mentally and physically when the instructor Shazi put his hands on me and disrupted my calm. I opened my eyes clearly startled. He asked me to stop my current practice to move over and make space for another late student. At this point, the studio was fully packed. He could tell I was taken aback by his request. He then proceeded to walk away and say to the whole class, "Kindness is the best thing we can do." I felt chastised for showing I was disappointed by his unprofessional, inappropriate behavior when he had me stop my restorative practice. I ended up needing to leave class as he had created an atmosphere I could not calm and restore myself in. Once I left the studio, he followed me telling me he could tell I was frustrated. I explained that the late students creates challenges to the nature of a restorative yin yoga class. While I am happy to make space for another student, that needed to be before or at the start of the class. I expressed how it was not acceptable that he actively disrupted my participation into the class for a late student. He thanked me for the feedback but did not apologize for stopping my practice or what felt like public chastising of saying we need to be kind right after I had a face that indicated confusion about the situation he created. read more

I had a great class with an amazing teacher but I'll never go back. Parking WITH validation was $11. I didn't even shower. That is ridiculous and is totally out of line with parking at other Hot 8 locations. Street parking would be fine with me, but there is a homeless encampment right outside the parking structure. The rates to park are not posted at the entry or exit or payment machine. If i were Hot 8 I would put a sign at the front counter, so my clientele would be aware of issue. Hot 8 is a good studio but this location was a bad idea. The lot owner is ripping off your clientele. read more
