This facility is small but has the bare minimum in terms of equipment, showers, sauna, pool. The cycling room was a selling point to paying almost $200/month, yet half the bikes don't work. When you ask the employees, they say "I don't know, I don't really cycle". I'm not sure what that has to do with knowing how to use the equipment at the gym that you do in fact work at. The staff is the primary reason I decided to cancel my membership. They are simply bodies in a chair. They won't help, they don't say hello or greet you, they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. They act like you're interrupting their personal conversation when you need to buy a water or ask literally anything. Cycling classes come and go without wiping the equipment. The cleaning standards here are 7/10. The best selling point here is the pool. It's nice to swim indoors, but there are only 3 lanes. Also, the cycling instructor, (Bernard I believe?) is the reason this gym gets a third star vs 1. Overall, the staff not knowing how equipment works, saying you're SOL when none of their bikes work, and being overall rude and unpleasant really kill the energy here more than I imagined. When I first signed up, I felt like it did not matter if the staff was rude- but here we are. I would rather pay less, knowing i'm going to get sub par service. If I'm going to pay almost $200, I would expect cleanliness and employees who know anything about the gym. read more

It has been a few months and I think I have tried most of the services provided. I have corporate discount at Equinox but chose to be a member at this gym instead. As mentioned by some other reviewers, everyone is very nice: patrons and employees alike! All equipment that I used has been clean, facility in general looks clean (and I mostly go in the evenings). As a former fitness studio owner, Trifit is the best family owned gym in Santa Monica. It's a nice size space and more personal than an Equinox or LA fitness. They have a pool,of which I have yet to utilize. Lol They have services to help prepare an individual for a triathlon or marathon that one might be participating in. A cold plunge tub is available for clients. There's easy parking and sometimes they utilize a large tent next to the tennis courts and workouts and classes are outside. A great group of consistent clients populate the scheduled classes that are offered and they can be tough but never intimidating. I recommend checking them out sometime, because you might find it more convenient and comfortable than where you're at. If you are thinking about " getting in shape "? I have been coming here for a couple years now and usually go anywhere from 5-9x per week. This is by far the best gym in West LA. The cleanliness of the showers and restrooms is far superior to anything else. The staff is absolutely amazing and very friendly/approachable. The classes are plentiful and taught by GREAT instructors. The option to use the outdoor or indoor gym is awesome. It seems the only negative reviews are from people who gym 1-2x per week and we're offended that employees/owners of the gym weren't policing the use of masks. Cry me a River. Let's have some common sense, even with a mask, you are in an enclosed space and people are dripping sweat everywhere. If you are that paranoid, you should really just stay home. At the end of the day, just get that fitness and immune system up by going to Tri-fit more and you wouldn't need the mask anyway. All around AMAZING gym. read more

Best gym ever! I've been coming here for 2 years and it's more than just a gym, it's a motivational community! With the help of this gym, I completed my first triathlon, and now I'm training for a half marathon! They offer things like open water swimming sessions in the ocean to prep for your triathlon and outdoor running on tracks, to help with form! PROS: I have been a long-time member of TRIFIT. Some of these reviews are clearly from people that have some sporadic grievances. They honestly, have very little to do with how TRIFIT operates on a day to day basis. The cleaning staff works really hard to maintain the space and equipment exceptionally clean and are constantly stocking lockers rooms and bathrooms. The front desk staff are polite, friendly, and go out of their way to know everyone by name. TRIFIT has loads of classes with great instructors, plus a sauna, steam room, pool, and a huge fitness area. For what they offer, you cannot find a better price. Oh, and almost forgot to mention plenty of FREE parking! CONS: The pool is not as new as the gym, which is why a few might be complaining, but it is still SUPER CLEAN and well stocked with amenities. Try to find another pool in the area, you won't. SUMMARY: A few others may find reasons to nit pick and complain but who knows if they would be happy at any gym...all in all, this is hands down one of the best gyms in Santa Monica/WLA area. read more

Update: I shared my concern publicly because I've already flagged this privately many times and the staff [who are rad btw] told me they couldn't really do anything about it because management decided they they aren't "policing" it. I did forget to point out in my review that there are sanitizing stations everywhere and good air flow most of the time which was honestly the compromise for me to keep coming in. I wrote this review after a week of having to keep moving away from unmasked people to feel comfortable working out which was distracting and frustrating. I also think it's fair for me to share my experience in case it helps others. Original: It pains me to write this review because I like this gym a lot and a lot of the members are friendly and conscientious of others, but the management team is putting their members at risk of spreading illness. Trifit is asking members to wear their masks indoors at the front desk but not actually enforcing it as a policy simply because the sheriff has refused to enforce it. I've asked about all the people working out and grunting without masks on and they said there's nothing they can really do. Management/ the owners do not take the current mask mandate seriously which is troublesome with the rise of the Covid-19 delta variant. I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and each day there are at least 2-5 unmasked individuals [almost always entitled men] each session and there seem to be more and more people that just don't even bring a mask because they know Trifit will let them workout indoors regardless. My hunch is that the word is spreading because it seems like this group of unmasked members is growing. If those people don't want to wear masks, please ask them to workout outdoors. read more

Dark weird vibes. I tried to cancel twice and they charged my card without me knowing for 4 months without a single visit. When I called to have it reversed they only refunded 1 month. Wow WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. After one month of a month-to-month agreement that I called and emailed to cancel multiple times, they are calling and emailing me telling me I owe them money. Managers have never called me back or responded to my emails, yet have the audacity to send me $129 bills, which tells me they continued to illegally charge my card for MONTHS! Trifit is the best gym in Santa Monica, hands down. Everything is always super clean and it isn't crazy packed such that I never have to wait for a machine. There are tons of amenities such as the pool and towel service. I've tried a a bunch of different gyms in Santa Monica like Equinox and Bay Club and Trifit is better than all of them. For example, the steam room is way more spacious than Equinox and Bay Club doesn't have a steam room. Finally, the staff here is excellent. TriFit is a really nice gym, lots of equipment, and all of it clean and well taken care of. Changing rooms, showers, and sauna are all great too. I usually work my strength training program and can't speak to the classes, but my wife loves the yoga classes with Rob Phillips. The 2 best things about this place for me are (1) the no cameras rule which cuts out a lot of the "gymfluencer" nonsense you get elsewhere, and (2) the staff who are all super friendly and willing to help if you need anything. read more

I LOVE TriFit. It's become a second family since I joined in 2018. The owners live and breathe the gym and it shows. They've always had amazing coaches and staff along with a ton of great classes to choose from. The gym area still feels like it just opened: it looks great and modern with plenty of equipment to choose from. Nice clean changing rooms (cleaning staff is so nice!), steam, sauna, indoor swimming pool, squash courts... The whole nine yards. They cater to everybody, from performance-oriented serious athletes to people who have never been in a gym before. Everybody feels welcome and all the staff, coaches and members are very supportive and helpful. After jumping around to different gyms in Santa Monica, I finally found one that works for me. Friendly, not too busy, super clean and updated, and fantastic classes. I focus on yoga and spin (shout out to Judy and her amazing 12pm class M/W) and am never disappointed. The instructors provide a space for you to get what you want out of it -- whether you're training for a race or just trying to get your cardio in. I would not recommend going to Moses Wolfe-Polgar at @trifitla for a bike fit. After an initial fit which caused me pain in my arms, Moses charged me for what was meant to be a free follow-up. Moses had to re-install my aero riser which he had offered to do as part of my follow-up. During the follow up he made no indication of his intention to charge me and I was shocked when he asked me to pay for the follow up and/or the riser installation- both of which were supposed to be free. What's worse, he reversed my shifters and pinched the wire. read more

This is hands down the best gym I've ever been a member of! This place has everything I need, the best equipment on the market, the staff is so kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and the amenities are amazing. I work in the healthcare and fitness world and I can truly say the trainers are top notch! They offer the best variety of classes and I always get an awesome workout in, whether it's a HIIT class mid day or the ELDOA class that helps to decompress my spine. The spin classes are always super high energy and they also offer swim classes in their pool. Above all else, the sense of community and spirit is what sets this place apart from any other gym in LA - and trust me, I've been to them all. This place is absolutely the best! After searching for a "valued" workout space, I had a realization that valued gyms are not necessarily cheaper if you consider all the corner-cutting they have to do. 1. the cleanliness was sacrificed 2. no towels offering on-premise 3. parking would be an additional fee So after I add all these up, the valued gyms I visited actually are not any CHEAPER. Then I found Trifit. Trifit is deceiving. In addition to its main recently remodeled studio rooms and workout area. I'm SO glad I joined...this has been a long time coming. Living in an area where there's a gym on every corner (not to mention glorious weather and an environment that satisfies every outdoor enthusiast), I've been craving CONNECTION. I enjoy moving my body and tend to get bored if I stick to one exercise. Within the first week, I took Yoga (Alyson was so great; the perfect amount of chill/woo-woo and cool friendly for the 'de-stress' class!), Hiit class (Mosas is a great coach, focused and super inviting!), Tabata (Jimmy really knows his stuff and has a huge following, love him!) AND everytime I walk in, it's like walking into Cheers where the front desk (huge props to Coda!) always says my name and is so incredibly welcoming. Turns out I also knew a ton of LA Tri Club peeps from old school training days. I can't wait to take other classes, meet more instructors, and ... oh yeah, steam room and sauna?!?! I have been a TriFit member since 2009 and before that detested gyms. TriFit is incredibly welcoming and supportive to people of d ifferent ages (I'm 3/4 of a century), skill and fitness levels. The instructors are all excellent and even in a class with a dozen or more people give individual instruction where needed. The desk staff is super friendly and seem to know all the clients by name. The members are friendly, encouraging and fun -- it's a great community. The facility is beautiful and beyond immaculate. It seems like someone from the cleaning staff is always mopping, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces or piling up fresh warm towels. While there's a full range of gym equipment, the extras go beyond a typical gym: massage chairs, cold plunges, steam rooms, saunas, shower and locker room amenities. The class schedule is varied, with HIIT, TRX, Spin, Masters Swim, Boxing and Yoga. All are included in the membership as are Ocean Swims in the summer. And there's racquetball courts and tournaments for those who like sports with spherical objects. read more

I live in Santa Monica and a two weeks ago, I decided to walk to every gym/fitness center in a 3 mile radius (traditional gyms, speciality gyms, boutique gyms, etc) because I was ready to be back in an indoor gym. I ended up joining TriFit and could not be happier! This is one of the nicest traditional gyms that I have ever been to and it literally has EVERYTHING that you could want (and the sauna and steam rooms are a huge bonus) plus the staff is exceptional. I have basically gone 5 days a week for 2 weeks just because I feel happy there! I will be sad when I have to start commuting to Burbank again for work to not be able to spend 2-3 hours a day here! read more

I have been going to TriFit for approximately 5 years.  I originally joined the gym as it is the only place on the west side of LA that has squash courts with round robin social matches that are great if you don't know anyone who plays in the area.  While a member, a friend got me into cycling and the rest is history; TriFit has the coaches and resources available that enabled me to go from someone with no competitive athletic background to to someone doing a Olympic Triathlon in a year, a Half Ironman the next year and a full Ironman the next.  Achieving this was made easy with the support of TriFit; especially for someone like me who lacks the drive and knowledge to train to achieve this kind of feat.   TriFit has an amazing team of trainer lead classes and outdoor sessions that fit into anyone's schedule.  I personally chose the morning classes so that I could work out and not have all those excuses you can muster up at the end of the day to skip a workout. I now focus more on cycling and strength training and TriFit has me covered with TRX and HIIT classes as well as Yoga and a stretching class called ELDOA, which I love as I feel helps not not only with injuries but to prevent them.  They also have a Physical Therapy group on-site which takes all insurance, a huge plus.  To top it all off, the gym was just renovated and they opened a brand new beautiful facility with "equinox" style locker rooms.  Do yourself a favor, just come have a look at this place, I can promise you won't regret it!!! read more
