I experienced constant flooding and sewage leaking from the kitchen sinks (yep, 2 sinks), giant sized insects invading our space, decaying floor boards from water damage, 3 years of uninterrupted mold and mildew, the need for a dehumidifier requiring 4 buckets of water to be dumped daily, and the last stray was a bathroom ceiling leaks flooding the unit requiring a 1 month stay in the hotel paid for by my insurance and I still had to pay the rent for my unit. During those 3 years, I suffered terribly from respiratory problems for the first time in my life. No empathy shown by the leasing agent or landlord for the major and myriad inconveniences. Upon returning to the unit in addition to the floor repairs they used substandard contractors to paint the walls. During my stay at the hotel (on my insurance's dime, mind you despite paying the full month's rent DURING it's renovation) I was not notified that the walls would be painted until AFTER the work was done, nor was my artwork removed from the walls prior to painting. The substandard painters merely painted around my artwork. Essentially their substandard painting contractors sealed the damage free adhesive to the walls with the paint making the artwork impossible to remove without damaging the wall. Moreover, the substandard contractors also painted over the back door sealing it shut. Upon move-out, the property management company wanted to penalize me for the damage caused by their own substandard painters shoddy work, since there're still holding on to my security deposit. Avoid renting through this "property management" company at all costs

As a prospective renter, my experience was very poor. That would have been fine. But what really annoyed me was the application process. The management is not familiar with more modern ways to verify employment and income (such as third party service) and insisted on unredacted pay stubs - which is much less secure. The interaction as we went back and forth was rude and reminded me of scammers trying to get one to divulge information urgently (because so many people are interested in the apartment!) at the cost of better judgement. In trying to get more information from me they cited their "policies" but being unable to articulate why their policy insists on having the information I didn't want to share (like my pre-tax deductions) This conversation was not with some mid-level employee but what seemed to be the owner. I should hope he could articulate the reasoning behind his own policy! To me, this company clearly orients themselves to customer service of property owners, not renters. Which fair enough, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. To the reader/renter: Don't let these people bully you!

His studio apartment was perfect for a college kid's needs, and anytime there were maintenance issues they were promptly addressed. He didn't have to worry about anything. The most important aspect of his stay there, though, was the staff. From George, who we helped us choose a unit and set up the lease, to the front door staff--especially Walter (who my son grew to love and will miss)--everyone went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful, not just to my son but to my husband and me when we would visit. Even during move out this was the case (special mention again to Walter for his help--you are an angel!). Any GW parents looking into Hamilton House for their student: this is a really great option for off campus housing. It's quiet, safe, and the building is managed well. Can't recommend highly enough!
