Always something with Insurance with these people... it's like they have been screwed so many times that they assume everyone is going to leave them high and dry. We've had to cancel a few times... and they have a Policy that they say you sign at the beginning of treatment that if you cancel within within less than 2 business days they charge you 50$ or 75$. My husband mention that to the Dr. during a cleaning and he said "No, No, we don't do that." Same thing again my husband texted back to their auto text system to cancel, and no reply. Then I call within 24 hrs to make an appointment, and they say they are charging us $75 for a cancellation. And this is within 24 hrs of appointment. We won't be coming back. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

As an update to my previous review…read more.. I finally found a new dentist and lo & behold Dental Care Design charged me $25 to transfer my records over. I've never heard of this before, but thought I'd let people know. Also, my new dental experience was SO much better because instead of repeatedly being told what bad shape my teeth are in or how I REALLY need to get additional (more in depth) cleanings, I was told the truth (and in a much gentler fashion I might add). Overall my teeth are in good shape and my gums weren't nearly as receded as I was told by the Dental Care Design hygienist. No additional cleanings required! It really appears that the GCD hygienists work on some sort of commission and the more they get you signed up for, the more money they make. If this is true, it's really a sad way to pay employees of this nature. My .02 cents.

Before going to them, my gums were not in the best shape and I did not regularly floss. Granted I had really, really good insurance when I first went there, so I got loaded with 4 cleanings a year, a mouth guard (since I grinded my teeth at night), free teeth whitening every 6 months, and retainers (the only thing I had to pay for due to my good dental insurance). Five years later and my teeth are looking and feeling good. Denise takes really good care of my teeth and does an excellent job removing my plaque and cleaning my teeth. And I love hearing Dr. Hetzer and Dr. Janczakowski tell me that I have no cavities and that my teeth are in great shape. I can't speak for everyone else who goes there, but I recommend going to DCD. You have to book a month in advance to get evening appointments, but it's worth the wait. Great service and great staff!

My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled last August. I paid $475, which I was told at the time would be my portion after insurance. In December (four months later) I received a bill for $230. I called to inquire what these additional charges were for as neither of us had been in since August. I was told they would research it, send it back thru insurance if necessary, & call me back with the results. I never heard anything back, so I assumed it was handled. Yesterday I received a phone message threatening to send me to collections for the unpaid amount. I called today to find out what I had asked them to find out over a month ago & I was told it would not be sent back thru insurance, & that she couldn't tell me what this additional $230 was for. She just kept saying "I don't know what to tell you. You have an additional balance & I'd be happy to work out a payment plan with you." I don't want a payment plan! I want to know why I am being charged again almost half of the amount that I already paid (now SIX months ago), when I was told then that my account was paid in full! I pay my bills, but bills typically come with some sort of explanation & they don't come SIX MONTHS after the services are rendered! Quality Family Dentistry will no longer receive any of my business & I will pass on to everyone I know about their shady billing practices! There are plenty of reputable dentists in town that would be happy to take my business!

I finally decided to seek out a dentist because I was more afraid of how my teeth could hurt me opposed to how a dentist could hurt me. Just sitting in the dental chair with my cute little dental bib waiting for x-rays stressed me out and I had big tears rolling down my cheeks. I fanned my eyes trying to dry up my tears because I felt ridiculous. I mean I was just there for x-rays for crying out loud! My fear of dentists was that intense. Aaron came in , gave me a tissue and spoke so kindly to me with genuine caring and compassion. He has a boyish charm that puts you at ease. Of course that could be because of the braces on his teeth that he is sporting or perhaps his choice of super hero clothing articles like socks and tshirts. I think you might indeed be a super hero to choose a profession where not many people are especially excited to come see you. I mean, who really gets excited to go see a dentist? The diagnosis after x-rays? Two root canals and two crowns.... double ugh. I had one root canal last Friday and my other one today and I have to tell you dear readers... it went great. I am so happy now. No discomfort, no pain, no fear and no tears. Thank goodness! Dr Aaron Marks and his staff are phenomenal. His assistants are like your little dental cheerleaders. The appointments were long, with root canals you can plan on having a seat in that dental chair for a few hours so it gets a bit tedious but the girls would come in the room and tell me I was doing great and good job haha. The vibe of this place makes going to the dentist actually fun. How can this be? Well give them a try and you can see for yourself! I wish I could double the stars of this review. :)

From start to finish (Duffy, Anna and Dr. Hopewell) were informative, supportive, professional and a pleasure to meet. I had a new patient routine cleaning it included measuring my gums and detailing previous dental work. I kid you not Anna is the best dental hygienist that I've worked with patient and gentle. Duffy is front desk extraordinaire [full disclosure I wasn't pleasant during our first conversation I had EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE from the ghosts of bad dental office experiences]. I also trust their expertise and when they tell me I need something done, I know that I actually need it. I cannot say this has been my experience with a few other places in the past. The hygienists are always friendly and gentle while working in my mouth. I can hardly tell they are doing anything. I have never had any pain or felt them being too rough. They also explain things very well and give good advice and recommendations. I see Dr. Christopher Perez and I completely trust him. He does great work and is quick. Before coming to Camano Island Dental a few years ago, I had seen a different dentist who had done two fillings along my lower gum line where the enamel had broke off two of my teeth. Not even 6 months had passed and both fillings had popped off. Dr Perez replaced both of the fillings and when my insurance came back and refused to pay for them (because I had just had them done 6 months prior) Dr. Perez told the lady at the front desk to go ahead and just take care of it for me. Wow, now that is caring service and that is one of the many reasons I continue to be a patient.
