As an update to my previous review... I finally found a new dentist and lo & behold Dental Care Design charged me $25 to transfer my records over. I've never heard of this before, but thought I'd let people know. Also, my new dental experience was SO much better because instead of repeatedly being told what bad shape my teeth are in or how I REALLY need to get additional (more in depth) cleanings, I was told the truth (and in a much gentler fashion I might add). Overall my teeth are in good shape and my gums weren't nearly as receded as I was told by the Dental Care Design hygienist. No additional cleanings required! It really appears that the GCD hygienists work on some sort of commission and the more they get you signed up for, the more money they make. If this is true, it's really a sad way to pay employees of this nature. My .02 cents. read more

I've been going to Dental Care Design for 5.5 years now, and never have I met a dental clinic that has met or exceeded my expectations as much as DCD. Before going to them, my gums were not in the best shape and I did not regularly floss. Granted I had really, really good insurance when I first went there, so I got loaded with 4 cleanings a year, a mouth guard (since I grinded my teeth at night), free teeth whitening every 6 months, and retainers (the only thing I had to pay for due to my good dental insurance). Five years later and my teeth are looking and feeling good. Denise takes really good care of my teeth and does an excellent job removing my plaque and cleaning my teeth. And I love hearing Dr. Hetzer and Dr. Janczakowski tell me that I have no cavities and that my teeth are in great shape. I can't speak for everyone else who goes there, but I recommend going to DCD. You have to book a month in advance to get evening appointments, but it's worth the wait. Great service and great staff! read more

Not impressed. My previous dentist set my standard for quality of care, and Dental Care Design didn't meet it. * Hygienist gentleness = fail, pretty sore results later in the day * The setting = standard, feels a bit aged. * Hygienist pleasantness = so so. Another reviewer mentioned negative criticizing of her teeth, and I agree that D.C.D. isn't top tier in pleasantry. Having someone in your mouth is very personal so I expect top tier pleasantness, and I felt that D.C.D. was too aggressive in selling a service by degrading my teeth. It came off as rude and sleezy. * Later I got a bill for a service I never received. I called in, and the receptionist removed it. * A few months later I got a notice in the mail that part of their client records/database has been lost/crashed, and urged me to check in for my next due appointment. * There are a lot of other local dentists to choose from. I found a GREAT Professional, Understanding and Caring Dentist and Dental Group who actually LISTENS to their patients. I had been researching for a NEW DENTIST and Finally FOUND ONE! The staff at this location is beyond Stellar! I am blown away on compassionate and caring they are. Dr. Mark J took his time to explain to me my current dental situation and the Male Dental Hygenist went over the call of duty in taking care of not only cleaning my teeth but explaining preventive measures to keeping my teeth intact without having to worry about dentures. Let me start by saying I HATE dentists. A lot. They are invasive, make you spend money on crap you don't need, and normally are just a postcard in the mail to remind you to come get your teeth tortured twice a year. This place is seriously the best! I look forward to coming here. Why?! Because Dr. J. Is stinking amazing! He has so much experience that you can't feel the shots he gives (not kidding), this alone would make me return but this place makes you feel like family. They care about you. Not just your teeth. They are genuinely human, they care about understanding what your goals for your teeth are (even if they are obsessive like mine) and move mountains to make it happen! I love this place. I have never been treated better! Of course they can't be perfect, but in the 6+ years I have been coming here they have made one mistake and over corrected it. Making sure every detail was perfect and to my standard. (The solution was even free!) Lana is the best hygienist on earth, she is caring and takes the scary out of working/cleaning your teeth! My hygienist at Dental Care Design is really awesome. She is really thorough in cleaning my teeth and she always offer helpful advice on oral and preventative care. Dr. J is also the nicest dentist I have ever meet :-). I have since move across the country and haven't found another dental place that is as good. read more

The front desk, dental assistants and doctors are always very friendly. I particularly like Dr. Janczowski. The staff is well-versed on explaining cost & coverage. Free teeth whitening custom trays and solution refills for life for new customers (so long as you have healthy teeth, if you need something like a root canal they'll make you get that first before giving you the trays). **update: I still like it here but they have reduced down to 1 dentist and shortened their business hours which makes the previously easily scheduling not as easy anymore. Dental Care Design has the best staff and great doctors they are the leading Zoom whitening specialist in the Lynnwood area. I have seen both Dr. Hetzer and Dr. Janczakowski for my cleanings and for repairs on my teeth. They are fast friendly and do a great job explaining what it is that is required. What I also like is they tell me what can wait until later and what should be done now. The free whitening kit that you get from their office after becoming a new patient is great as well. dentists and hygienists almost always err towards underdiagnosing periodontal issues such as early forms of gum disease. 65% over 35 have it. As a periodontist I know. The extra time spent doing a more thorough scaling and rootplaning is almost always worth it. Commision based hygienists are uncommon, however if you are concerned it should always be the dentist making your treatment decisions. Also to recommend a "deeper cleaning" this should only be done after a periodontal exam has been completed by your dentist or hygienist. read more

I had a crown done. 2 years later during a teeth cleaning they told me my crown was done incorrectly as it was too short and food could get in. I told them that they did the crown 2 years prior. They said that the insurance will not cover it until after 5 years. I said but you did it why don't you stand behind your work. Now I passed the 5 year mark and contacted them to see if they would work with me on my portion. I lost my temper somewhat after the receptionist was basically blaming me and was not wanting to even talk to me. She said the dentist would call and talk to me about it. read more

Great Dentist and excellent care! I recently started going to Dental Care Design, partly because they are close to home, they take my insurance and they have great reviews. Well, here's another great review! I had a tooth extraction/oral surgery over a week ago and was extremely happy with the level of care I received. I feel that most dentists these days only care about the money but not Dental Care Design. I appreciated that they were honest with me that my tooth was bad and just needed to be taken out. Most dentists would swear the tooth was savable so they could get more money out of me to work on a tooth that would probably need to be extracted anyways. The Dr. and staff members were generally concerned with my well being. Dr. Janczakowski didn't do the actual extraction but oversaw my aftercare and was absolutely fantastic! I would highly recommend Dental Care Design and Dr. J to anyone who wants a dentist that genuinely cares about the patients. I will definitely continue my tooth care with Dental Care Design and I look forward to being treated with respect and working with a fantastic dentist and staff members! read more

Few years ago, I did the invisalign here and it was the biggest of my life. I just turned 18 at that time, so I was able to sign paperworks on my own and People here took the advantage of me. They did not do what they told me. I went there getting the invisalign to close the gap in the front teeth. They showed me in 3D on the computer the results I would have after the invisalign; that was a lie. They did not do anything to correct my teeth and they rushed and forced me to sign the paperworks afterwards to close the case. I did not sign the final paperworks because they did nothing to correct my teeth. They did not even let me talk to the dentist there at the end; they just wanted to close the case. I tried to look for a malpractice lawyer but the lawyers said because my case is just an individual case, they don't get much out of it so they refused to take the case, they said if it was a business case then they would. Moreover, they are not specialized doing invisalign, they are regular dentists. So if you want to have an invisalign or braces, please go see an orthodontist. I paid them $5,000 in cash up front and it was a lesson for me. read more

I love this dentist place! I have transferred from another dentist place because I felt I needed a dentist that really cared about my teeth and able to give me the afforable, great care my aging teeth is having. The dentist is super gentle with my teeth and able to tell me any issues I am having. He always says I have great teeth which is nice to hear. The staff are friendly even the hygienists! i always love coming here. :) read more
