I know some people may hesitate because Dr. Shin is newer, but my experience with him was absolutely excellent. Before my first visit, Dr. Shin had already reviewed my medical history, which saved a lot of time and showed how thorough and caring he is. I came in for a physical and full blood work, and as soon as I checked in, Dr. Shin personally came to the lobby to ask about my concerns and what I wanted done. By the time I was in the exam room, everything was ready -- very organized and efficient! During the appointment, he listened carefully and offered thoughtful solutions before even mentioning medication. I really appreciated that he focuses on the root cause of issues, not just symptoms -- a true example of great osteopathic care. My lab results were ready within a few days on MyChart, with detailed comments from him explaining everything. Dr. Shin is an outstanding, compassionate, and knowledgeable physician. We brought our 3rd daughter here for her 3-day check-up and it was an absolute disaster. Due to the last minute appt, we were only able to see a nurse practitioner. They started by weighing our newborn and telling us she had lost 14% of her weight. They instructed us to start feeding her every hour during the day and every 2 hours all night long. The weight loss didn't make sense since she was latching since we were in the hospital and eating constantly and very well. We asked if it would make sense to weigh her again. The nurse insisted their scale couldn't be wrong and tried to talk us out of it. We pushed and insisted and they finally agreed. Turns out the first weight was completely wrong and her weight was within healthy limits. As a 3rd time mom, I'm glad I trusted my gut, but if this was for my first baby, I would've trusted them and gone home force feeding my completely healthy baby every hour. Our baby also left the hospital 2 days before with a normal jaundice level of 3. The nurse did a visual inspection of her at this appointment and said if she had to estimate, it looked like it was around 15 (greater than 10 is bad). If the blood tests confirmed that, our baby would have to be hospitalized. Again, very concerning information! Because of this, they pricked her foot to get a blood sample. However, the nurse did not get enough blood the first time and they came back and pricked her other foot! My poor baby. The entire process took more than 1.5 hours. They called later with the results and jaundice levels were completely normal! Why would you report all the concerning information to a parent that all turned out to be inaccurate? We asked to speak to the manager and they said they'd look into it and get back to us. Never heard back. My husband wrote a review and someone from customer service said they'd look into it as well. Never heard back. We have found a new pediatrician for all of our daughters and won't be returning here ever.

My husband was evaluated by Dr. Zahra Shahim on January 16, 2026, after developing rapidly…read moreprogressive bilateral leg weakness and losing his ability to walk over just a few days. Despite this presentation, the referral from Dr. Shahim to Neurology was classified as "standard" rather than urgent, with the initial neurology appointment scheduled for March 5. Although the appointment was later moved to January 29 after follow-up, it still did not reflect the urgency of his rapidly progressive neurologic decline. On January 20, 2026, I returned specifically because Steve's rapid loss of mobility over only four days deeply concerned me. I explained that this degree of deterioration did not seem normal and asked whether his referral should be escalated or whether additional action was needed. I was advised that the current plan remained appropriate and that he should go to the Emergency Department only if his condition had worsened since the January 16 visit. Because I remained concerned, I immediately took Steve to the Emergency Department. He was evaluated and unfortunately was discharged without admission, neurology consultation, or neuromuscular workup, and was instructed to keep the neurology appointment already scheduled for January 29. At that appointment, Dr. Frank diagnosed Guillain-Barré syndrome the same day based on his examination and EMG testing. Dr. Frank commented that he wished he had seen Steve sooner. Rapidly progressive bilateral weakness with loss of ambulation should prompt URGENT neurologic evaluation regardless of the eventual diagnosis. In his case, the diagnosis was Guillain-Barré syndrome--a neurologic emergency that can progress rapidly and, in severe cases, lead to respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation. Early recognition and timely initiation of treatment are associated with better functional outcomes. He ultimately received IVIG treatment. More than six months later, he continues intensive neurological rehabilitation, still requires assistive devices for walking, and continues to experience high level of pain. At a follow-up visit after Steve's hospitalization, Dr. Shahim commented that she was glad the Guillain-Barré syndrome had not progressed to involve his lungs, noting that some patients require mechanical ventilation. We couldn't believe what we were hearing and I responded that this was precisely why I had returned on January 20 asking that his rapidly progressive neurologic symptoms be reconsidered and his referral be escalated. Instead of being empathetic and apologize, Dr Shahim raised her tone and insisted she acted correctly. We left that discussion feeling that our concerns regarding the urgency of his presentation had still not been acknowledged. We lost our confidence in Dr Shahim.

She did not take the time to review my chart or listen to my medical history before refusing to refill medications that had already been prescribed for my shoulder injury. I'm not someone who takes medication daily, and I've never had any issues with misuse, so I found her approach dismissive and lacking compassion. I am a 68 year old who has been healthy and cautious my whole life. When I brought up my recent kidney stone, (and showed her the stone), she didn't take my concerns seriously or even discuss it with me. Her overall demeanor came across as unprofessional and condescending. I had hoped to establish care with a new physician after moving, but after this visit, I'll be returning to my previous doctor--even if it means driving two hours. I expect a doctor to show respect, listen carefully, and treat patients as individuals. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. She saw my eyes and head from a serious surgery I had days before seeing her, and she didn't even ask questions what I had done. She approached me with a racial approach being a white person. Be careful. It is not right. Period. These trust fund babies have no right being in these professions unless it is their love for proper care. Stay away from her.
