I wish I could give 0 stars and warn every pregnant woman in San Francisco. This man 1000000% assaulted me during my intake with my first pregnancy. Now being in my third pregnancy I look back in disgust in how he 1) did not have a nurse present in the room and asked me to fully undress at FOUR weeks pregnant. WHY? Completely unnecessary. 2) He then asked to see my breasts to see if I would be a good fit for nursing my baby... also COMPLETELY unnecessary. This is not normal in any prenatal appointment EVER. 3) And last he said he needed to insert his finger into my bum which is a billion percent unnecessary as well I can't even think of a reason he could have used to explain that. I was 29 years old at the time didn't know what to expect as it was my first pregnancy, but I have gone to female OB's at Kaiser and a midwife ever since and looking back at this experience makes me want to throw up remembering it. I have nightmares thinking back on this. I think about it often but it never struck me how horrific it is until now having so much more experience with prenatal care. He did something inappropriate to me during an exam that as a first time pregant woman felt wrong, but I dismissed, and I now wish I hadn't at the time. i like to go to boy gynos because they don't have these same parts therefore I think they tend to be a bit more gentle. Just my own neurotic theory, but I've been seeing Dr Tabas for several years and I like him a lot. It's not difficult to get an appointment (though I strongly recommend avoiding the voicemail and just calling back till you get someone since they aren't so reliable on the call return). The staff is friendly and you don't wait in the waiting room long either, which is a huge plus when seeing a Dr in SF. He took my photo too (and i'm not sure why that's creepy because it was a photo of my FACE, dude, so chill out and if you don't want your photo taken use your words and just say no, he won't care!). He likes to be a bit more personal than most doctors so he likes to associate a face with your file. He also remembers things like "you got married last year, right? How is that going?" so I appreciate him taking the time to know his patients. He's really good about listening to what you want and exploring options with you as far as the good old bc goes...He is also responsible for giving me the IUD I now wear proudly in my uterus. And for those of you who don't know that means I don't do that whole "time-of-the-month" thing. I skip it. Completely. It's awesome. read more

Dr Tabas's office is a total disaster. I'm going to leave aside the issues my wife had with the fact that he was kind of creepy (only afterward did we get this confirmed by other moms). This review is about how disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest the office is. So, they billed us for our son's circumcision nearly 4 YEARS AFTER THE PROCEDURE, claiming that our insurance wouldn't cover it. We had to call their office no less than 5 times to get someone on the phone who would actually talk to us. We reminded them that they had handled the birth of both of our twins and a dozen gyno appointments, so clearly we were covered. Only after months of back and forth did they finally realize that they had billed the insurance for "Baby Boy" rather than our son's name. At that point we thought it was over, until we got ANOTHER bill a few months later. At that point, they claimed the procedure was "cosmetic" and not covered. After that we called the insurance company and confirmed it was covered (or at least it was 4 years ago, when they should gone through this whole process). We told Dr Tabas's office this and they said they'd look into it. After that, radio silence. UNTIL a few weeks ago when we got a letter from a collections agency asking for nearly twice as much money as they'd initially billed us for. So we called the office again. 5 Times. Until someone actually answered who could answer our questions. And now they're claiming "sorry, it's out of our hands now, we passed it off to the collections agency." I have literally never had a doctor's office act so unprofessionally. I would caution any expecting parents to stay way clear of this place. Parenting is hard enough without people like this creating unnecessary problems. read more

I went to Dr. Tabas for the first time today and he was extraordinarily generous with his time. He asked several questions about my information on his intake forms and was courteous and genuine throughout our conversation. Efficient, empathetic yet to the point regarding the actual physical exam. Just a gem of an OBGYN who's been practicing for a number of years and thus his office feels comfortable and safe. Despite years of me telling Dr Tabas that I had developed an Autoimmune Disease, he never pieced together the connection that I developed the disease (like thousands of other women) within months of him implanting the Essure device. It turned out I had a nickel allergy (as 20% of women do), and he had not asked me this before giving me the hard sell on why Essure was better than my husband having a vasectomy. By the year 2013, the year of my implant, there was already thousands of lawsuits against Bayer and thousands of cases of very sick women. Dr. Tabas delivered my first baby in Sept, and everything is perfect so far. He was not my first Ob choice, and I regret I did not find him sooner. Compare to my first Ob when I first found out I was pregnant, he was so much more informative and helpful. To be honest, I'm not the kind of person who demands a doctor to care his patient from the heart (since I'm not trying to befriend with the doctor, I only need the doctor's objective/medical opinion), and make all the small talks in the world. I only care that the doctor is being professional and responsible to his patient. Dr. Tabas live up to and went beyond my expectations. During labor, he really know how to motivate me to push, and he gave the time and respect to make the decision on when (or whether not, but prefer me to) use the vacuum suction to get the baby out. The delivery can get dangerous without the vacuum suction because the baby was wrap by the umbilical cord. If I have questions, small or big, a phone call solves it, I did not even need to pay a visit to the office. When he's busy with other patients, he will definitely call me back, or have the receptionist call me back. Also, I have to mention the receptionist is great too. read more

IT'S TIME FOR SOMEONE TO RETIRE. 3 years of my life were ruined due to ego, not admitting -not even knowing and unwilling to look into it -that he made a mistake with my surgery, and not staying updated with the latest medical knowledge and all the time masking it with a super creepy, bedside manner that women like me took for sincere kindest. I kept saying something was wrong with the surgery. Told me that I just take a long time to heal and insisted did not do the surgery incorrectly. -which again, really confused me, because I trusted. Recommended pelvic PT, which was a waste of money & really expensive - and did not help- because just like the UCSF surgeon said - I needed to re-do the surgery. On top of all that, when I went to get the surgery, it was not even scheduled. God was trying to tell me something right there. Dr. had me wait around all day for a "stand-by surgery," because he had scheduled his day around this. It was so late by the time I got it, that the nurses rushed me out right after waking up for general anesthetic. And, yes always availability, because obsolete. and yes, creepy, too. kind and creepy. kindness used as a disguise. You should be ashamed of yourself, Dr. Tabas! I'm going to complain to the Hills, Medical Board, United and Western Health for starters. read more

I have been with Dr Tabas since 2015. He is a very kind, attentive doctor who I feel really cares for his patients. I didn't realize all the twists and turns my health would take over the years and looking back I am so glad that he has been my doctor. He's taken his time explaining things to me, making me feel comfortable with the choices available. Is he quirky? Maybe, but then so am I. PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS DOCTOR I went to this office yesterday for my annual as a new patient. I am in a pinch for time since my IUD expires next month and I needed a quick turnaround. I started filling out the paperwork, when I got to the last page and it was an arbitration agreement. I don't know about you, but that is a red flag. I then went to search him on Yelp, where I read some very suspect reviews--here is what was consistent between the reviews: 1. He does NOT have a nurse present during the examination. I just moved from New York where it is the law to have a third party present in the examination room especially if the doctor is male. NY even enforces this in urgent care. 2. He takes a Polaroid of you when you're a new patient to keep on file (why the f*** do you need a picture of my face to examine my lady parts) you're not an orthodontist. 3. Back to the arbitration agreement--this is very one-sided protection just for the doctor. It basically states that you cannot sue for medical malpractice. If something goes wrong, you go to an arbitrator (& God knows how long that process would be). 4. A fair amount of people also seemed to have issues with the billing department double-billing them and then going to collections very fast and not appealing any cases. Not to mention... The office is super creepy and he himself seems to also be. I did not even end up going to this appointment. I faked a work emergency. I was so creeped out by what I read that I left. I would rather my IUD expire inside my uterus than have this guy even breathe the same air as me. read more

Dr. Tabas and his office are both ultra creepy. Here's why: 1. He wants to take a picture of you when you go in for your first visit. Why does he need to keep a Polaroid of me on file? I've never had any doctor/dentist take a picture of me, let alone a GYNO. That's just weird and made me very uncomfortable. 2. There are no nurses at his office which means there won't be one in the room during your exam. I was going to ask him to have a nurse sit in the room, as this is common practice, but then I remembered that there are none. Which got me thinking about why.... and leads me to my next point: 3. Dr. Tabas did some unusual things during the exam. I won't go into details but I assure you that I will not be returning to this doctor ever again. You shouldn't either. read more

I had no choice in having this doctor work on me as it was an emergency surgery and he was the chosen surgeon. I almost reported him to the hospital for how horrible an experience I had with this doctor post-surgery. Instead, I will yelp to help keep patients away from this guy. My scars from the surgery have healed up pretty nice and for THAT I give him 2 stars, otherwise I would give 1. I'm still alive after all so he's not a horrible surgeon I suppose. The BAD: His bedside manner SUCKS. I was discharged from the hospital without any information of what to expect after surgery. He didn't formally discharge me, which I think is illegal? Regardless... I had questionable side effects after surgery like my whole stomach and side were heavily bruised and one part of my body was swelled and purple to the size of a golf ball. I was also sweating a lot, pale, and dizzy on the verge of passing out. I called him to ask if the bruising was normal first, then to ask about the swelled up purple part of my body. He got frustrated with me and yelled at me saying to call him only for emergencies . If he had discharged me and told me to expect these symptoms, then I never would have called! What an a*#hole. Did I mention he creeps me out? I would go with someone else to anyone needing surgery or a general gyno. There are plenty of good gyno's in this city. read more

I just can't tell you how pissed I am that I'm being sent to collections a year after when they double charged my insurance for the same procedure and I had to pay for 3 providers that I didn't even see 2 of them (California Pacific Medical Center, Pathology Center, and Eric Tabas' visit). I've called their office 3x to sort this out and they've never picked up or returned my calls. DO NOT GO HERE if you want a hassle-free medical experience. I think the picture is just to help him remember you better when he reviews your file before your appointment - seeing your face makes you more than a bunch of facts and dates, but a person. I've been going to him for several years and while the office is not luxurious, it's typical SF fare, it's FAR from creepy. He's a very nice guy and I never feel like he is an rush to get me out the door. I also like that there is typically a short wait time and that the receptionist is low key and good at what she does. His "bed side manner" is the best I ever had. I went to him for 2 years for my annual exams and then for my pregnancy. Unfortunately, I had to get new insurance and couldn't see Dr. Tabas any longer right around 13 weeks into my pregnancy. Ack women always seem to have issues with gynos that, I'm sorry, I just don't seem to have. Maybe it's just because I'm comfortable with my body? Or the fact that I go to the gyno at least twice or more a year. I like to be safe, I like to learn as much as possible when I go, and I like my facts cold, hard on a platter. Dr. Tabas did exactly this. He didn't request my picture, but did scan my DL which I'm assuming is he solution to all the complaints he's had about it on Yelp. I mean, it's not like he's taking a picture of you naked, so I guess I don't see the concern? I've had dentists and primary care doctors take my picture before and don't find it odd at all. I also have never had a nurse in the room during any of my appointments - and I've always seen male gynos as women gynos make me insanely uncomfortable! He's insanely involved in the OBGYN community, teaching at UCSF and being on the board of obstericians. What was really nice about my visit with him was how he spelled out everything that he is capable of doing: from delivery babies to... well... the opposite of this....to a simple annual. He was able to adquately answer my questions about the latest development in Gardasil and offered me several solutions to my health in general. Only downside was that I had to go upstairs for additional services with an outpatient service (Pacific something or other) and the only guy running the lab was kinda unprofessional and the room smelled really weird. I won't return to this doctor again. Everything was very poorly handled and extremely unprofessional. I had an appointment and he made me wait 30 min, while he was in his cabinet with his door open and no patient. During the visit, he picked up his cell phone (very rude, didn't even excuse himself) and I had to listen his conversation with another patient. During my visit: I told him that I hadn't had my period in two months and I need full blood test results in order to know what was going on with me. I told him that I had pap smear, mammogram, HIV and STD tested six months ago and they were all negative. I wasn't worry about those things, I needed him to check on any vitamins deficiency or thyroid issues. Obviously, I am having some dis-hormonal balance and need to know the reason as well as what I can do next. Therefore, I needed full blood work done. He read a list of things that I will be tested for and I don't need to do anything else. He will contact me even the results are done - even when the results are positive he calls patients to tell them. I liked that considering that he just took a patient call in front of me. NONE OF THIS HAPPEN! I had to chase him to find out that he only tested me for pap smear, mammogram, HIV and STD tests and none of the other tests. He told me that he doesn't call when the results are positive and had no clear explanation why they totally mishandled my issues. My visit was a total waste of my time. I am extremely disappointed and sad how poorly he handled my case. He has all these diplomas hanging on the wall in his office but he is just a mess, who doesn't seem to care. Dr Tabas has been my GYN for 13 years now! I met him when I was 20 years young! Before him, I had a nurse practitioner who seemed very nice and she was the one who actually diagnosed me with Endometriosis. Nothing knowing anything about this disease, she wanted to just throw me on BC because that was normally the treatment. She didn't give me any advice really or even as to why I am taking BC or if it would even agree with my body! I ended up leaving her and my pediatrician at the time recommended me to Dr Tabas! He was super nice and accommodating! I told him what is going on and what the nurse practitioner told me and from there we made a game plan! Months later, I ended having laparoscopic surgery because my endometriosis was not getting any better and I was still being hospitalized for ovarian cyst at the time. I first appreciated him for being knowledgeable about a disease that was not widely talked about 13 years ago as it is now. People know what endometriosis is and can get treated faster. I was a 20 year old woman who had horrible periods and did not know why! He made sure ALL my questions were answered. Anything he prescribed was because WE CAME TO AN AGREEMENT! He presented me with options and I chose the best one for me. I was NEVER pressured to do anything or take anything without full understanding and him answering my questions. I am SO MUCH better now 9 years later and just understanding my disease and how it works. I trust this man with my uterus! And I got trust issues for sure! And MY doctor is not creepy! I work with the public and I met creepy and he isn't it! At all! Bedside matter is THEE best! Bar none! I haven't left in 13 years and I won't unless he retires! Everyone is entitled to these experience and I respect people's opinions however Dr Tabas is really knowledgeable! He has a wealth of knowledge regarding women's health! Some women need a woman touch and women like me need a man! (Most is my doctors are male) He will deliver my babies for sure! First, yes he takes a photo of your face for the file. I don't really understand the issue with this. Is it unusual and maybe a bit odd? Yes. Is it creepy? No. Dude wants to remember who you are. Second, no - there isn't a nurse in the room. Didn't bother me but guess it bothers some women. Third, yes doctors typically have forms that include arbitration clauses. I'm not sure why people think this is strange. Fourth, I found him pleasant to deal with and he calls you with your test results - something I haven't found with other doctors. There were some things I didn't like that made me want to seek another doctor. First, he didn't discuss hormones as an option for menopausal symptoms. I understand that there are herbal/non-hormonal options, but I want a doctor who will discuss all treatment options and not just the one that he feels is the healthiest or best. Second, I had an issue with a very large, solid lump in a breast. It was so large it was literally poking out of my not so large breast. I could feel it just by lightly running my hand over my breast. It was likely a cyst, and he pretty much told me not to bother removing it since he said it will probably come back anyway. I told him I wanted it removed. If there was a huge bump sticking out of his penis, I'm pretty sure he would want to do whatever possible to eliminate it. When I had the biopsy, it turned out it was all fluid and the doctor was able to drain it in a matter of minutes. Why wouldn't I want to remove it given that I was already there? (It did cost me about $500 - I'm guessing because it was considered cosmetic.) And, obviously I never did get another enormous cyst poking out of my breast. I just didn't care for the doctor's viewpoints when it came to treatment/non-treatment. He definitely seemed to lean toward non-treatment when it isn't necessarily the most preferable option from a patient's perspective. read more

Dc Tabas is a great doctor. First of all, he listens really well, takes all the time needed for the exam, explores all the possibilities in case of problem and does not judge. He is also really available for questions and answers really quickly to emails. I had a surgery with him at CPMC, I must say it was a really good experience. Before the surgery, he explained me everything, reassured me. The hospital staff was great, they made sure my family was informed during the procedure. Everything went well, the hospital called me the day after to be sure everything was ok. Dc Tabas also called me to give me some results and to be sure I was ok. Ladies, Dr. Tabas takes a picture of you to put in your file. He is a wonderful person and the most compassionate doctor i have ever had - I've been going to him for a long time and he has delivered my two daughters. I don't know where to begin... Dr. Tabas cares about his patients and he treats me as a valued patient and human being instead of his 2:30 appointment or his 10 am pregnant woman coming in to give my monthly urine sample. He always greets me by my first name, asks how my husband/children are doing - and yes he always remembers their names. The nicest thing is during one of my appointments he had my file open and inside was the birth announcement I sent to him...I think most doctors would have tossed it in the trash can. During my first pregnancy i must have called him a gazillion times and he was ALWAYS very responsive, understanding and reassuring. He never seemed annoyed or made me feel stupid for asking my silly, paranoid, first-time mom questions. When i went into labor I was very worried because I knew he was away on vacation and i didn't want to deal with a doctor who I wasn't familiar with. But, shortly after they admitted me, the nurse (who knew I was anxious about not having Dr. Tabas deliver my baby) told me that she called Dr. Tabas and that he was driving back to SF from vacation and that he was going to come straight to the hospital. Thanks goodness, because I ended up having an unplanned c-section. During the whole labor/delivery/surgery process I felt like he was reading my mind and doing exactly what i felt he should do. When he would recommend next steps I was thinking the same thing. I said a lot about how compassionate and nice he is...but, most importantly, he is a skilled OBGYN and surgeon. I had to have a second c-section and I never for a second had any worries or stresses because I completely trust Dr. Tabas's expertise and know i'm in the best hands possible. BTW, Dr. Tabas gives the best new parent advice/tips...his advices were actually more helpful than those given by my pediatrician! It's funny - he talked to me about these new parent tips as a friend would to a new mom. read more

I felt very uncomfortable and weird during the entire visit. It started off weird with him wanting to take a polaroid of my face for my file. He didn't even ask if it was okay. I asked him what he was doing and he said he wanted to have a picture for my file. (I thought that was so bizarre and unusual.) I apologized and told him that I didn't really want my picture taken. To my surprise, he got a little offended. Why, I don't really know. He was an okay doctor. There was no nurse in the exam room which is odd for me. (In NY it's law to have someone else in the room but not sure about CA.) Come to think of it, there was no nurse period. Only the receptionist who was very nice. I think it's a bad sign when you walk into the doctor's office and you are the only one in the waiting room well before and after your visit. read more

This doctor performed one of his first laprascopy procedures on me in 1995. It was done incorrectly and I almost bled to death in the hospital. Before the operation, he told me I would be "power walking" about a week afterwards, but I was in bed for 5 months and could not work for 14 months, because I also suffered PSTD from the trauma of nearly dying. The entire experience put me $10,000 extra out of pocket for a psychotherapist and because I couldn't work. I actually billed Dr. Tabas for it, but he refused to "do the right thing." I still have pain in my right side from the massive blood clot and scar tissue he left me with. As for PSTD, I haven't had a pelvic exam since this experience that doesn't hurt horribly; actually, I just don't get them anymore, now that I am almost 70 years old. Jessica read more

I love Dr. Tabas. I think he is very smart and a very good, if very Western-style doctor. I have had to have two surgeries with him (one elective, one emergency) and found him to be excellent in both the actual execution of (no complications, easy recovery, etc) and the care around the surgeries (follow up care, genuine regard for my emotional and physical well-being, etc). Like others have said, the photos are his way of remembering people -- he sees a lot of people and most only once or twice a year -- I think he wants to avoid the embarrassment of calling a patient he hasn't seen in awhile by the wrong name. He is really good about explaining things and, because he is a husband and a dad, has a good handle on the day-to-day stresses which might accompany having a new baby, etc. Super nice guy. read more

Dr. Tabas has been my OBGYN for the last 8 years, and is without doubt the best OBGYN I've seen. Over this extended period of time he has provided consistently exceptional care. His bedside manner is gentle, thoughtful and due to his calm attitude, he is successful time and time again at putting me at ease. When I became his patient many years ago, he took a polarid of me for his file, and I found this impressive as well. Nowadays all doctors and healthcare providers I see ask for this, but he was ahead of the curve and it is just another sign of a caring doctor who wants to be sure he remembers who you are. With the HMO's forcing physicians to push large numbers of patients through the door on any given day, I suspect it is difficult for everyone to be remembered clearly. I am personally much better with faces than names, and respect the use of a polarid in the file as an added assurance that he is focused and paying attention to me and my needs as a patient. His office manager is fantastic as well, and has always made herself available for HMO paperwork needs, appointment scheduling/rescheduling, filling prescriptions and having Dr. Tabas call when I had questions. I have no problem with the practice not including a nurse. Who wants an extra set of eyes present when you're in the most vulnerable position during the exam. I for one, am grateful that it is a one-on-one experience. Dr. Tabas and his assistant are also fantastic about corresponding with their online communication system, which I appreciate now as a mother with much less time to spare. When I found out I was pregnant four years ago, I did not even hesitate when deciding to remain under his care for the birth. My labor and delivery experience at CMPC was outstanding, and showed a side of Dr. Tabas that was even more impressive. He honored my birth plan to the last line, and remained quiet and calm through the delivery. During the pregnancy he was always so helpful and informative, answering all the annoying questions that my husband and I had. He is old school, doesn't include a lot of ultrasounds and technical procedures and advised over and over again to remain relaxed, healthy and happy. With all his years of practice he predicted down to the pound how much my son would weight at birth! No amount of gadgetry can provide that life experience. He gave great advice about the pregnancy and then some great parenting tips once our son arrived. The birth was a great experience and I believe this is large part thanks to Dr. Tabas. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Eric Tabas yesterday, on April 19, 2017. I was referred to him by my regular doctor as I needed a procedure done. I was pretty nervous and stressed having to go through the procedure, but Dr. Tabas's excellent, warm, and professional bedside manner made all the difference to me. He is very courteous, and took time to talk with me both before and after the procedure. He explained everything that would happen, and was careful to check in with me to make sure that I was doing ok. He is obviously an excellent physician, but he seems to be the rare exception these days in terms of providing expert medical care AND a caring, human approach to his fellow human patients. I can only speak for myself. Dr. Tabas has been my doctor for 12 years. I started seeing him when I was 24 and he has supported me through different stages in my life. He genuinely cares not only about the purpose of my visits but also how my life as a whole affects my health. I appreciate being able to see one physician who knows me and not getting lost in a "mega practice." I enjoy being seen as a patient and a human being. I'd like to add thing to all these lady reviews. Dr. Tabas is also a licensed mohel and he performed both of my sons' bris (circumcision). He was recommended to us by my wife's Ob-Gyn because he had performed the procedure on her sons. I don't have a lot of relative perspective on these things, but we thought he did an outstanding job. My parents have more grandsons and have seen more ceremonies and they also said he was one of the best they had seen. That's a pretty nervewracking experience for a parent so having someone you can trust goes a long way to easing your nerves. read more

Went back last week for my yearly appointment. Just like the previous year, Dr. Tabas is a great experience (well, as great as these appointments can be. Ha.) He took extra time to talk to me about what had been going on in my life this year and I forgot after about 10 minutes he is my OBGYN and not therapist. Dr. Tabas is an absolute gem of a physician. He never rushes through his exams, he gives you ample opportunity to ask questions, and he cares enough to make notes in your file about your personal life - where you grew up, where you work, the name of your significant other, etc. Physicians like Dr. Tabas are such a rarity nowadays, which is why I was horrified to see that he's received even just a couple negative reviews here. First of all, he took a picture - of my FACE - for my file. He does this for the same reason why colleges ask you to send a photo along with your application. It's just helpful to put a face to the name, and I'm sure it's a big reason why Dr. Tabas is able to remember everything you've ever told him, even if you only see him once a year. He keeps complete files, keeping track of everything about his patients - not just their medical histories - because he understands that there is more to a person's health and well being than what the lab results say. Secondly, his office is empty and very quiet. Contrary to what other reviewers wrote, this is further evidence that Dr. Tabas cares about his patients. He doesn't overbook, which means he doesn't keep his patients waiting, which means he can devote all of his attention to you while you are there. Again, it is such a rarity to be able to go to an appointment, no matter where it is, and NOT have to wait in line, in a jam-packed place, and then get rushed through the appointment. Why this was cause for others to complain escapes me completely. Thirdly, it is true that there are no female nurses in the room during the examination. This is because there is no need for them. Dr. Tabas is a professional. If you're uncomfortable being seen by a male physician, then go to a female. The fact that Dr. Tabas doesn't make apologies for being a male is no reason to slander his practices. Dr. Tabas's methods are quite unusual. However, if you take a moment to really think about how you were treated during the examination, it's obvious that he is unusual only in the sense that he cares, he doesn't rush, and he has the utmost respect for his patients' time and privacy. Unfortunately, I am only going to be living in San Francisco a little while longer. Otherwise, I would be overjoyed to continue receiving Dr. Tabas's care for the rest of my life! read more

Dr. Tabas is AWESOME. I have been going to him for more than a couple years.. I actually stopped going to him for a while and went to an ob that was closer to me and I just HAD to go back to him! I really like Dr. Tabas. I'd been a Kaiser patient for 21 years, which means that I bounced around anonymously from doctor to doctor with no idea that health care could be a personal, friendly experience. On my first visit to Dr. Tabas, I was floored (and delighted) that he wanted to take my picture for my file and ask me about my life and interests. I felt more comfortable with him in the first five minutes than I had with any doctor I'd seen in my life. When I went back in for an exam a year later, he had clearly brushed up on my file and remembered all sorts of details. He has time to listen to my questions, he makes great conversation, and his exams are quick, gentle and professional. I feel very lucky to have found his practice. read more

It started when I had my daughter. At the time I only had an ob. He referred me to Dr. Tabas. I didn't feel comfortable at first. I hate changing doctors. The first visit was very interesting. My husband and I walked in and he took a polaroid picture of me which I thought was odd. After seeing him for many months until I had my daughter, I realized that he was the nicest and most caring doctor. I had my daughter in 2003 and I'm happy to say Dr. Tabas is still my ob/gyn. read more
