She was sympathetic and gave me a number and I was told to have a seat. We sat for the next hour and a half until her number was called. It seems unreasonable to be upset at having to wait when you don't have an appointment. Life happens. Sometimes people fail to plan properly. Sometimes surprises happen in life and you find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Neither one is a reason to receive special treatment. So if you do receive it be grateful and just grin and bear the wait. The clerks at this location were kind and helpful. This will be the location I go to the next time I need to go to the DMV.

Before that they were still taking all the walk-ins and the people with appointments. Every other one was an appointment or a walk-in. Then I get in there and they stopped taking them, and there was only five of us left. Only five walk-ins standing there and they would not call even one of us so we could at least go sit down and wait. It was just a joke. Absolutely ridiculous. So I finally gave up waiting, knowing that I might not be taken care of it all, left and made an appointment for another day. So now I have to NOT look forward to going back again. She was quick and efficient while remaining patient and kind. While I was there, her manager Diane came out to say hello and to ensure I was having a good experience. The "teller" was helpful, but we were less then impressed when we got here and realized we filled…read moreout the wrong form (at home so we could be prepared!) for our vehicle registration (transferring from another state) AND the wrong form for changing our address (to get a new license reflecting our current address, not just a sticker). The website doesn't clearly specify which forms need to be filled out for which circumstances, if you bought a car out of state and need to renew your registration, but you're actually registering for the first time in NYS. For example the DTF-803 versus the DTF-804 form. The "address change" form, MV-232 found online should suffice for changing your address, but they insist when you get here that you fill out the "Application for Enhanced or Real ID...." form, MV-44EDL, which is the form you fill out if you're getting a NYS license or ID for the very first time. The only correct form we filled out in advance was the Vehicle Registration Title Application, MV-82. It was a Friday morning (11am) and pretty busy. Almost all seats were filled, but the process went pretty quickly. Less then 2 hours. I wish we could make appointments online like other counties and states offer! Overall, it was DEF quicker then a CA DMV!
