My oldest child is 16 and I dragged her to every portrait studio under the sun and was always disappointed with the photos: they looked like school pictures each and every time. Then we met Marla through one of her children. We met her at a park for photos of our three children and I have never witnessed someone so at ease with her clients, surroundings, and camera. When we met her in her studio to review the photos she had taken, we had such a hard time choosing which pictures to order: they were all beautiful and captured our children's personalities perfectly. We ordered more photos than we expected going in, but it was just so difficult to decide. She is always so gracious with sending us a few extra prints too, which says something about her customer service. I get the feeling that she looks at all of her clients as family members and gives her best every time. We had her take photos of the entire family a few years later and she continues to capture our children perfectly in photos. She is very flexible and accomodating with her time and camera. I have photos from both sessions hanging in a few rooms in our home and countless friends and acquaintances have remarked on the beautiful photos on our walls. These are all the work of Marla. Yes, you will pay for high quality photos, but you get what you pay for, and working with Marla from start to finish, each time, is worth every single penny. You won't be sorry.

I had family photos taken at a park in Rochester Hills, MI in May 2022. My son had graduated and my…read moremother to celebrate her 85th birthday.I selected him for the shoot based on the quality of the photos he has on his website. He delivered pleasant images that captured our happy family in a great springtime setting. The photo shoot was fun and we all felt good throughout the shoot. My 6-year-old granddaughter even asked him to take a special picture of her holding a flower she picked and he was great with her. The picture is so cute! Coordinating with hiim was fairly easy since I don't live in the state so we had to work through email. We are enjoying the pictures from this special occasion. Michael was good to work with after the shoot to edit some pictures to focus on certain people. The only drawback, and maybe this is a lesson learned for me, was to check out his pricing before agreeing to the shoot. In my past experience with other photographers at other places in the country, the prints and digital copies were much less expensive. I didn't check this out before hand - oops. He also inadvertently didn't provide his price sheet before the shoot, which he should have. That limited what the family could afford. From what I have been told, he is about mid-range for the area. Michael worked with me to make sure our family was satisfied. Overall, he was great to work with, organized, pleasant, and conscientious in working with us to our satisfaction.
