This is how they send you out od Erlanger ER

When I went to the ER because I was short of breath and had a sharp pain in my lung when I breathed in. I was in the waiting room for 9 hours. Who know what was wrong Never saw a Doctor They wraped my arm were the iv was.Blood pour3d out. I had told them I was on blood thiner. Instead of rewraping it they put tap over blood and all. That was my first and last trip to Erlanger ER

Iv pole covered in blood and other bodily fluids belonging to former patients.

My mom had a stroke on May 23rd, 2023. She spent 3 long days in the ER. Nurses would leave her sitting in her own feces even after being told she needed cleaned many times, they would still be in the same spot when I would go remind them. It should not take an hour to clean someone up unless theres an actual emergency going on. She was awake and responding right after the stroke, able to squeeze with her left and right hand, she could lift both legs easily on Tuesday and Wednesday, by Thursday she was not on an IV, not getting any fluids whatsoever, her left wrist was swollen, she screamed in pain when it was touched, her right knee was also swollen and hot to the touch. They did PT and OT on Tuesday right after arriving never to return so she was not moved at all. Not a good idea to not move a 88 year old woman that worked all her life up until a little over a year ago so she is very arthritic in most of her joints so of course on top of them being rough with her bc they were mad at me due to me calling them out for leaving her in her own feces for an hour. By Thursday she was incoherent, babbling, not urinating at all due to lack of fluids. She was at death's door. My siblings and I made sure that she was transferred to Siskins before they killed her. The pole holding her iv fluids was covered in blood and other bodily fluids from previous patients, the rooms were absolutely disgusting. The call button may as well not been there bc other than Tuesday they would not come until we called multiple times getting more and more angry with them. No one should be left in an ER for 3 days where there's nothing but cursing, fighting and nudity going on especially an elderly stroke victim. If you have a loved one that had a stroke do them and you a favor, take them to a better hospital than Erlanger. I am convinced that my mom wouldn't be here today had we not gotten her out when we did. What they did was elderly abuse. Pics are of the IV pole, my mom on Thursday when we moved her and the very next day at Siskins.

As you can see no bed, no IV pole, no TV only a chair.

I guess coming from Atlanta, I expected the usual hassle and getting gouged for parking fees. The few staff I ran into were so helpful and friendly. I lost my keys and didn't realize it into right before I was going to drive back to Atlanta. The security guy immediately went to check with the different stations to see if they were turned in. The nurses that came to check on my goddaughter were so friendly and efficient. My goddaughter commented how everyone she came across were great.

We suffered with this prospect for several days before a different doctor immediately realized we should be sent to Erlanger for specialists to diagnose. - A nurse who completed paperwork saying my wife was physically feeling okay even though she did not actually visit our room to check on her. When confronted, she told me that's how they do it sometimes. - Nurses or techs who gossiped about my child's lab work right in front of us: "I know right. Those were like, the highest numbers I've ever seen." I could go on about nurses not wearing gloves and how bad the food was, but next to treating my baby like a circus sideshow, making us think she was going to die before us, and lying on paperwork, these seem minor.

Parkridge worked with my Dr's office to rearrange some scheduling to get me in the following week. That day, I was immediately sent to pre-op screening. What a great bunch of friendly ladies in this department! They got me pre registered, all pre op bloodwork done, EKG, and all paperwork & insurance done in less than an hour! They were all kind and compassionate. The day of procedure I arrived two hours before surgery to prepare. I was very nervous, but everyone was calm and explained everything in detail to keep me at ease. Of course my Dr was great, but the nursing staff was phenomenal!! Seriously, I'm blown away at how professional, kind and compassionate the staff is at Parkridge! They made a scary and overwhelming procedure bearable and I felt pampered the four days I spent there. I also want to touch on the fact that this is a very clean hospital. The food wasn't bad either, with a pretty diverse menu to choose from. I'm very glad my Dr suggested this hospital and I highly recommend it if you have a choice in the chattanooga area.

Some back ground info my daughter was tube fed from the time she was 2 till about two years ago. During this period of time most feedings and there were 3 a day ended in vomiting. We tried many brands and they had same ending. She had a gj tube which was supposed to bypass the stomach meaning no vomiting but that didn't work either. The day she finally gave food a chance which took years cause she was afraid she'd throw up she finally kept something down. From that point on we stopped using the tube and she ate all by mouth. Hasn't thrown up since. Weight gain is slow and it doesn't help that she had 3 back to back growth sperts which left her weight in the dust. Despite eating 3 meals a day she doesn't gain fast. I had same issue as a kid. I could eat all day and gain nothing. When I was her age I was maybe 70lbs. I didn't get to 90 till high school. And yet 90 is what she said she should weigh. Also my daughter has no muscle mass to speak of because of her physical issues and muscle carries more weight then fat so honestly she weighs what she should given that fact according to her physical therapist. Any way. While at the hospital the doctor pushed the weight issue and barely spoke about what she was there for. By day 3 I told her I'd take her to whatever follow up I needed to but she needed to be sent home. Katie had become depressed. Was refusing to eat the hospital food. She was hardly able to sleep cause people came in and out through the night. Her sheets on that bed had never been changed the entire time she was there and she was never bathed not even a sponge bath. I wanted my kid outta there as fast as possible so that she could get sleep and a bath and a clean environment. Not to mention she likes my food so I knew she'd eat better. I told the doctor that I was willing to follow her instructions and to give her bigger portions and extra snacks and things of that nature to try to build up her weight, but you can't force feed a teenager when they feel full than they're full, but I will give every opportunity for her to eat or drink more. At that point she told me she had made an appointment for me for the nutritionist and a pediatrician and told me that my discharge papers were on the way I get home and 30 minutes later. I get a phone call from DCS saying that they got a referral about my daughter and that they need to Come and talk. and I guarantee it was the doctor that did it. Just unbelievable. You try to do what's right by your kid and then you get a slap in the face from somebody that doesn't even know you and thinks of your daughter as a dot on a chart. I took daughter to her pediatrician follow up couple days later. They agreed with me and physical therapist. They see nothing wrong. I wouldn't take your child to this woman or this facility. Horrible lady. Horrible hospital."
