When I tried to open the door again, I quickly stopped the door because the motor wasn't lifting it (saving from burning the motor up). However, my cars were stuck in the house as the door without tension weighs too much to lift. I called AOD when they opened Monday morning, and despite several staff members having to be off due to the icy weather (understandable), the owner Gary, Sr. took my call around 8:30 Monday. Later that morning, Chris, who normally does installs, not repairs, arrived and had brought the correct parts. He may have been one of the few who could get on the road that day. He worked quickly, and efficiently. The Torquemaster systems can be very dangerous to work on unless you know what you are doing, Chris handled the repair with ease, adjusted my door settings, and had me up in running in relatively short time. Given the weather ( I was nervous I would be waiting for days), the circumstances of me being "stuck" and the professional work, I was very pleased with the price. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't unreasonable. After all, I use my garage door as my main entry, with kids, it goes up 10 times a day. I was treated with the upmost respect, both Gary, Sr. and Chris treated me as if I was their only customer- the way a family owned business should be. I recommend this company.

Over the years, I tried calling the garage door manufacturer and installer twice but I didn't get anywhere so I gave up. Finally, one day I found Affordable Garage Door recommended on Yelp so I decided to give them a try. Two guys came out in a truck and they had both of my garage doors working within minutes. They did maintenance as well and gave me a price for the current model remote device which was okay. I got one new remote for the door that hadn't been working. Really, after years of frustration and dealing with only one working garage door, I was thrilled to finally have both doors working. The only downsides were that the installers were very, very fast in their explanations of how the doors and the remotes work, and that recently, the door that previously hadn't been working started to only open and close partially. After I had been using the door manually for a few weeks and I was getting ready to call Affordable Door, the door started working again. I believe that I may have been able to reset the remote for this door. So, long story short, both doors and remotes are now working again and I'm mostly satisfied for now. I would have given Affordable Door four stars if they would have provided the operating instructions in writing or at least spent a little more time explaining how the doors and remotes work.

My mother signed a contract for a fence totaling $9,200. We paid $8,200 upfront. After months of delays, repeated promises, and numerous scheduled completion dates that were not met, demands for more money the project remains unfinished. Throughout the project, we received multiple explanations for the delays, but the fence was still not completed. We have saved our contract, text messages, photographs, and Ring camera recordings documenting the timeline and the condition of the project. Because the work was not completed as agreed, we have terminated the contract, requested a full refund of the money paid, and have consulted an attorney regarding our legal options. This post reflects our personal experience. We encourage anyone considering hiring this company to do their own research, ask for references, verify licensing and insurance, and carefully review any contract before making a payment.
