Very nice park, tennis and now pickle ball courts. Baseball diamonds, or softball. Trails that can take you to the best view of Torrance, or around the hood. Horse stalls, rings. An amazing jungle gym for the kids, maybe mom too. Nothing to complain about here, it's all good. See ya there.

This is one of my favorite locations for photography! The lighting is excellent and the forest background is so beautiful. This is a horse park so there is a little horse poop to avoid but it's not too bad. www.annikaalexandraphotography.com

wow.... what a great surprise to find this gem of a park so close to my place... it has tennis courts, which are very well kept but it also has tennis walls to practice your swing.... 2 walls, 4 slots plus the rest of the park is gorgeous... thank you Ernie :)

Bring a form of shade, it can get HOT.

This is a sprawling park that affords a variety of fields, baseball, soccer, basketball, and even a horse ridding area. I'm here most weekends to watch my girls play soccer. Because it's so large, the road is dirt, which tend to stir a lot of dust, your once clean car will leave with a layer of dirt. Soccer games can get hot, bring a tent or umbrella for shade. This is a nice, well cared for park.

Holy moly how many times have I driven past this park thinking it was a private tennis club. It is in fact the home of Rolling Hills Estates Tennis Club, but it is also much more than that, and open to the public. Go up the hill past Rolling Hills Road, and enter on your right, off Hawthorne. There is a large parking lot, all gravel and very dusty. I had just washed my car, oh well.... As I exited my car and headed off to explore, I learned that bridle paths cut right through the park when I immediately stepped in a horse pie. Ew. This is horse country pardner! Horse riding trails are all over RHE. This park is a little smelly as a result. I can only imagine on a real hot summer day...... Anyhow, there are 3 large ball fields, with scoreboards, bleachers, dugouts, and batting cages. This is the real deal. It must be where local schools hold their games (see photos). And, the park has a very impressive area for horse shows, including a judge's stand, stables, grooming areas, etc.. The fitness trail/walking path circles the park, and in some areas is not separate from the bridle path, so again.....horsey poop is all around. I would not recommend this park for walking. Horses seem to own the trails, but are banned from running on the sports fields, fortunately. I spotted a horse inside the stables, curiously watching me maneuver my way around poop. I wanted to take his picture, but he would not come out. He toyed with me a little, sticking part of his head out then retreating when I got the camera shot lined up. I told him he is no horse, he's a donkey for not posing for me, dang it. The elevation of this park allows a distant view of Long Beach Harbor. It's surrounded by a white picket fence & is well-kept for such a large area. RHE Tennis Club is on the grounds (see photos), as I said, with several tennis courts and even a little clubhouse. And I discovered a handball court near the park's entrance, hidden form view. Also I found a basketball court, and a sand volleyball court with no net. There is a small kids' play area, and some picnic areas. So this place has it all, but it's especially all about baseball, tennis, and horses. I posted around 40 photos.

Very pretty park to hang out in. Baseball fields, tennis, walking trails, horseback riding. The courts are free after 11am on weekdays during lunch. They can get covered with leaves from all the trees. Picnic tables and a children's playground. There is a basketball court and volleyball but they never get used. Last summer I think they had a skate park for kids. Great place to board your horse or go for a ride. They have horse shows up here a few times a year. Lots of free parking but it's gravel and your car will get covered in dust.

Not the best park for families and kids. It's more of a tennis club than a park. And there are better free tennis courts nearby.

How many pickle ball courts are there? Is it first come first serve?

I heard about the Holiday Light show at the park, will it be too crowed to enjoy?

However, I respect and truly admire that they added a cultural term to modern vocabulary: the Tardis Effect, which basically means that you enter a space and it is more spacious and complex than you can imagine based on what you believe it can hold based on exterior. Another example is Snoopy's Dog house. And as a final example, I offer a person's head. It does not seem like it holds a lot but it holds an ever expansive universe of thoughts, ideas and memories. This park can serve as another example of the Tardis Effect. It is a small park, like legit tiny, but when you look from its multiple view points you see the vastness of the pacific ocean and shore lines, which can induces so much within your head universe. Like one time I went and I imagined that a sea monster would rise from the waters far away. The sea monster was like Godzilla, except purple and its blast were white and froze people to death. Missiles could not quell its fury. I imagined that the solution would have to be mystical like when Perseus defeated the Kraken using Medusa's head. I repeat that the park is small by feet or metric cubes, or what ever unit of measure is used to measure a park's length, but when you enter you will see more than you expected, if you let yourself. I wonder what the opposite of the Tardis Effect is? What is something that is super big but when you step inside is actual small. Hopefully, a whale's belly cause I might end up there one day and wish to survive. If you are not one who embraces imaginative trips, this place offers something more grounded: beautiful views that are plainly gorgeous. When you allow yourself to sit and view, you want to take pictures, you want to have a date, you want to have a meaningful conversation, you want to meditate. It is a small gulp of fresh air that can be released into a big space. Logistically, parking is hard to come by. I am a local so I park on the street nearby and walk. I do not have a parking permit, I find street parking. The walk from the park to the car is not that long and depending on your fitness level it can be exhausting or a breeze. I went today to hike some of its neighboring trails. And the trails were closed. So expect this place to be a treat, if you are the type of person who can take the small of the earth and see the large of the earth.
