This store has a great vibe with lots of used and new records. Of all the record stores in Sioux Falls that I've visited so far, this one currently seems to have the most records that appeal to me. Ernie November - Music & DVDs Near Me - Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Made a quick pit-stop at Ernie November's vinyl outlet in Sioux Falls on my road trip from California to Chicago. Store had an OK selection of used vinyl - not enormous, but enough to keep me occupied for the better part of a half hour. It's indeed true that shoppers should brace themselves for an overwhelming, pungent scent of heavy incense....Reminds me of my teen years in the 80's perusing the head shops of Berkeley (ahhhh youth!), but my tolerance not as resilient now that I've reached my early 50's. It was a bit much, but sounds like it's one of their signature touches. Used vinyl prices were eh...sort of middle of the road to more pricey when compared to Ebay or other used vinyl shacks. I did manage to find a handful of records at relatively decent prices. Seems like their favorite price is $6.00 for some odd reason...Maybe a lucky number? New and rereleases were definitely on the pricier side - you could do much better snagging fresh vinyl from EBay or Amazon if price is your prime motivator...otherwise, it always feels pretty cool to support a local, independent business (although Ernie November is technically a chain). Personally, it's all about price so I skipped the more expensive record racks. Lots of paraphernalia for the tokers, some T-Shirts and books, but nothing that caught my eye. Visited the Rapid City location on the trip as well, which was a total bust - way pricier and much less used vinyl....so in comparison the Sioux Falls outlet is a much better option. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I went into this place for the 1st time and the only people there were two employees. Neither one of them acknowledged me in any way. I went up to the counter and asked to see one of the bongs that they had displayed. One of the ponytailed guys says to me, "Waterpipe." I say bong again and he says, "Waterpipe and that's twice that I've corrected you so now I won't sell you anything." WHAT?!? How am I supposed to know what words I can or can't use in their stupid store? So, I tell him that I don't care if he sells me anything or not because I was just price checking anyway. I can buy all of the stuff that they sell online. If that's their idea of customer service...well, they just lost a customer forever! read more

they have a super friendly staff and overall genuine vibe but their products are actually bad and I definitely don't recommend buying glass products from them as they are prone to break very easily with little force or effort needed leading me to believe they are buying low quality products and reselling them at regular or raised prices read more

I was very shocked to read many negative comments some have written here. I just found this awesome record store, WOW and Amazing would sum it up. They have a great selection of vinyl from all different genres. Great prices and all the vinyl I bought is in excellent condition. As for the heavy smell of incense some have mentioned here.... well this must be the first record store you ever visited. I was really impressed to here this store has been around since the 80s, that in says a lot about this store. If you are a collector, pay Ernie November a visit in Sioux Falls. Sean read more

The smell of incense, the wall posters of Jerry Garcia, the Guns n Roses sticker you always wanted, plus records, clothes, dvds, vhs, cd, and anything that a rock n roll fan might like! While in high school I used to come here and buy subway posters, you know those huge ones! I would buy Smashing Pumpkins ones or Radiohead, or Pink Floyd.. I loved this place but I always ended up smelling like Incense which in my adolescent head was pretty much like being high on pot.. So I felt like I was Bob Marly or something! Oh how times have changed, but not everything changes.. You can still buy Pink Floyd posters and that Guns and Roses stickers cause they both are still here for the 15 year old boy in all of us! read more

Could be a decent store but the burning incense was so strong I couldn't hardly breath so I didn't stay long. I did find 3 used albums. But the most bizarre thing was while checking out I asked to use the restroom. The old hippie clerk said no public restrooms but I could go along side the dumpster out back. Are you kidding me.
