This is my second favorite comic book shop in the country. First goes to We Can Be Heroes comics in Los Angeles, but these guys are a close second. I love the wide open layout of the store. They have something for every kind of nerd. A whole sports card selection, more toys than a toys r' us and rows and rows of back issue boxes to dig through, not to mention all the current stuff. It doesn't feel like one of those snotty comic book stores (I am looking at you Golden Apple and Mile High Comics) but instead like a place to explore with your family and has something for everyone. read more

Easily the best inventory of comics, cards and collectibles in the entire Midwest. I've been able to find what I'm looking for every single time I've been in there. The only complaint I have is at times the staff can be short and can make you feel stupid for asking questions. Almost as if they expect you to know as much about their products as they do. This place must be run by scalpers on eBay, they charge literally double retail price for their Pokémon cards. Also extremely rude service, when I was in the store I asked what date the next Pokémon set was supposed to be released and the employee behind the counter snapped back "THEY'RE ALREADY SPOKEN FOR" instead of answering me. I prefer to support local businesses but this place obviously doesn't want my patronage. read more

The store is clean and has a wide variety of products. Lots of back issues and organized well. If it wasn't for the guy (maybe the owner) being a jerk, I'd give it 5 stars. I called to see what time they closed and was told in 25 minutes, so I'd better hurry if I wanted something. Really? When I was in the store, I was told that if I didn't find something then my money was good on other days, too. I told him it wasn't, since I was from out of town. The redeeming factor here is another employee was courteous and helpful. Even going so far as to help me find back issues I was gone 5 min before they closed. Was it worth pissing me off to make sure they closed the doors on time? I won't stop by again, if I'm in town. I hope stores like this get their act together and learn to appreciate not just local, but transient customers. read more

I frequent the store in Sioux Falls and have not only interacted with the employees but also the owner, you could not find more knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful staff ANYWHERE. You can't go to many stores this day in age where not only can you find someone that can answer your questions but also say thank you and have a good day after the sale. You can always tell these guys actually appreciate your business and love their jobs vs. some places that you're just another person that walked in the door and a paycheck is all they are there for. The store is clean, the selections are rotated so you don't always see the same thing twice. It is located in a convenient area and has a fun, yet relaxed atmosphere about it. Great place to take your kids, collectors and even just to look and find memorabilia from different generations. I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

This is one of the big baddies, store is a bit dark and dirty inside and it can be interesting trying to get into and out of the parking lot, but once inside, there is a excellent selection of comics, cards, collectibles, particularly figures and 1:24 cars as well as some regular toys and apparel. I didn't see any side rooms, so probably not a Magic hangout here. There is nothing else quite like this place until one gets closer into Omaha and the prices seem to reflect that. It's a business decision and there's no star deduction for that, but I'd suggest they reconsider it as this is the kind of stuff that drives people online and away from storefronts. The selection is indeed stunning and I can't give them anything less than a 5 for that, as I saw several things I have not seen anywhere else and didn't know existed, but we walked out empty-handed because their stickers were too far away on too many things to even continue shopping much more. This is definitely worth checking out for the ultra-rare stuff, but I honestly don't see us making a return stop or least if we don't it won't be a regular one. We didn't interact much with the staff, who seem largely content to allow people to wander at their leisure, undisturbed, but it did seem pretty well-staffed. Strong inventory but definitely room for improvement. read more

I have frequented a lot of different collectible shops and local gaming stores in my time, mainly looking for Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons items, Rainbow Comics has proven to me to be one of the best. While they didn't host any tournaments for Magic or had much in the sense of D&D, they had gave me great service and I was able to find a lot of other cool things in their store. They did have a good supply of Magic the Gathering cards and a fairly good database to help see what was in stock and keep everything organized, which I was pretty amazed by since MtG is not their main focus, I can only surmise they hold the same standard to the rest of the store based on my visits to their physical store and website. They have a plethora of comic books and collectables around the store so even if you are like me looking for a specific item, they could have something else to interest you too. From what I gathered they don't necessarily buy just anything (found this out when I was trying to sell some of my inherited and "valuable" Hot Wheels), but even if they don't purchase from you, they can usually point you in a good direction as to how/where to unload it. The folks over at Rainbow will for sure be getting my return business when the time comes! read more

What a great store. Action figures, sports cards and comic books from when I was growing up, as well as a large selection of new. My son was in heaven going through the Star Wars and Gi Joe toys. They have a very friendly, and knowledgable staff. If you're lucky you might even see some Storm Troopers or Boba Fett hanging out for photo ops. Good Stuff Here. read more
