This is a neat little neighborhood bar. A friend took me here for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat when I was visiting NYC recently. They had TVs showing a couple of different college football games and they had games available for the patrons to play at their tables. The bar staff was friendly (well, they did know my friend) and the atmosphere was positive. About the time we left, they were setting up for karaoke. Restrooms were kinda hidden - they're at the stairs that separates the from and the back of the establishment - look for the accordion style wall along the stairs, as the doors to the restroom will push in. E's Bar is quite a gem compared to the usual Upper West Side bar scene. The management is very passionate about serving the community which always makes for a good business. There is a backroom to accommodate small parties with some board games on the low shelf. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't try the sliders but everyone I knew said they were pretty satisfying. I tried these cheese ball things and they were okay but I wouldn't purchase them on my own. I wasn't able to try other items on the menu but I wouldn't mind going back and doing so! read more

A favorite stop on the UWS! My friends and I come here often, usually with the intent of grabbing one of the booths in the back. These are prime real estate as the booths are equipped with Ipads that you can place your orders on. You can order and pay all in one spot and the waiters just bring out your food/drinks. It's awesome! The atmosphere here is really cool and they play great music. Always a steady playlist of 80's jams. You will find yourself saying "i haven't heard this song in forever!" many times while you are here, I can assure you. I have never eaten at E's but they seem to have your solid appetizers, burgers etc. I would definitely recommend if you're on the UWS and looking for a fun but casual bar. read more

Was here 3/2/2018: Nice spot! Linked up with a friend from high school who found this spot. The nachos were much bigger than expected but didn't have as much shrimp as I would've liked. LOVED my drink, I think it was the Tenessee Peach something, I don't see it on their menu online, but I had 3 of them. It was small but mighty lol. Overall it was a great atmosphere. Came here during the summer while visiting a friend and this bar was so clutch. It was 3pm on a Saturday and there was an HAPPY HOUR going. Omg, what did I walk upon and where can I sit? They had $5 frosé slushies, beer and other drinks on special. They also had a great tasting cheeseburger that was on the special menu too. I worked with Erin from E's Bar to host a trivia night for a fundraising event that Solving Kids' Cancer was hosting. From the gecko, Erin was extremely nice, responsive, accommodating, and supportive with everything we were seeking to do. She answered every question I had and provided a great advice that helped us pull off a great event. She was truly a pleasure to work with! Everyone at E's Bar, especially Mark and Shawn, were great, super fun and easy to work with- and this goes a long way when trying to organize an event! Everyone loved the food and drinks but above all, found it very cool that they had numerous games stored in the venue. Almost every table had a game set up which added on to the excitement that is necessary when hosting these types of events. I ordered delivery from E's, and the burger was pretty nasty. It was charred to a crisp on the outside, and basically a tiny, inedible meat slab with no flavor. It also had no cheese on it. Very sad looking. read more

I was around the area and decided to go on Yelp and check out any cool places where I can grab a drink. E's bar stood out to me because of the young and fun feel to it. I was going to go to another bar around the area until I felt an unwelcoming vibe. Our host, Sean, was super friendly and catered to our needs. After he asked us for ID at the door, he told us we were allowed to pick anywhere to sit. I sat right in front of the bar so it would be easy for me to get up and grab as many drinks. What I love about this place is that is has so many cool stickers all over the place and board games. It's not everyday you enter a fun bar like this one. Now to the good stuff- the drinks and food. I started off with a regular lime margarita and boy was it strong. Sean came to our table and asked if everything was fine, and I asked him if I was able to return my drink and he had no problem at all. He offered me a new drink, which I didn't have to pay for, and he apologized for the other drink being too strong. This is the type of customer service I love- being attentive to your guests. The new drink I ordered was called "Raspberry Fields". It sounded interesting, so I ordered it. Definitely had an interesting taste, but it wasn't the best. It wasn't as sweet as I normally like my drinks, but that's okay- it did the job :) I then ordered the "Buffalo Chicken Tings" which were good, but tasted weird at the same time. I'm used to juicy "wings" so these were definitely something new. They were spicy, but they did the job! I gave this place 4 stars because the drinks and food could of been a bit better. Other than that, no complaints and I'll definitely be coming back here! P.S I recommend buying your drinks with cash, as they physically have your debit card until you close your tab- at least that's what I experienced when I went there, lol. read more

E's bar at seems like a very cool unique hang out spot. Food is ordered at the bar and you are given a CD with a glitter number on it. Tables are self service and they are a TON of board games to choose from scattered all around the tables. Really cool concept- but it only gets 2 stars because of that. The service seems to be just as nonchalant as the theme of the bar. When my friend and I ordered our food, the total came out more than expected. She questioned the amount, forgetting about the tax, and was told the price difference was due to the tax. Honest mistake after a few drinks. When the bartender turned around after explaining it to her I heard him tell another bartender next to him, "so f***ing stupid". Minus 1 star. We ordered 2 WELL done happy hour cheeseburgers ($5 a piece). After getting almost halfway through her burger, my friend noticed her burger was not well done at all, but instead very rare. The inside meat looked like it had just been pulled out of the fridge and served on the plate. When we informed a server about it he first questioned how we ordered the burger because if it is not specified they give you "med rare" by default. We explained it was ordered as a well done burger. He angrily took the burger back to replace it. When he brought the "new" burger out it was absolutely well done, but he had brought out EXACTLY HALF A BURGER to replace the one given. I've never seen something so petty in my life. We couldn't help but wonder if the same hamburger she had given back was cut nicely, thrown back on the grill and brought out on new buns. I mean, what did he think- she wanted a free $5 burger? What poor customer service. Minus 2 stars. The bar has a great feel and concept, but they really need to work on their customer service. Best Birthday Ever! That was my husband's reaction to the party we threw in the back room at e's Bar last week. The space was perfect for a gathering of 35 or 40 friends. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, and made our celebration perfect. Despite organizing this with only a few days notice, we were giving lots of options, and the flexibility to decide some things on the fly. We were also able to add our own decorations and bring in a special dessert. e staffer Christina, who hosted us, made the evening effortless and pure fun. The room's set up, with a couple of high tops and several banquettes, encouraged folks to circulate and, when they felt like it, to sit in groups, dig into some of the bar's delicious pub grub, and have more focused conversations. GREAT place for group outings -- have held several department happy hours here and the staff has never been less than gracious and accommodating. We love the board games, Cards Against Humanity, and of course the food and drink selection. Atmosphere is super cool, with tons of retro band stickers (my fave is "The Doors" placed on -- where else? -- the doors to the bar area), and "hidden" bathrooms it took me ten minutes to find (though once I did I was incredibly impressed at the use of space). In short, E's is an awesome neighborhood joint for food, friends, and fun. read more

This is a great bar - we come here weekly for trivia night and enjoy the busy hustle and bustle of the bar when everyone is trying to think of the answers to some riveting questions. The tables all have this really cool tablet where you can order and pay for ANYTHING from the convenience of your table. Oh and once you order a beer, its there in roughly 30 seconds. Really chill bar. Was here pretty early on a Sunday afternoon and the crowd and bartenders were super awesome. Loved their beer selection and they also seemed to make a good cocktail (saw a lot of people drinking everything other than beer.) Bartenders were responsive for the most part, but also didn't hound you when you were taking your time with your drink. At one point my date had gone to the bathroom and I was reading the back of my beer can and the bartender joked with me about it not being strong enough for me. It is always nice to have a talkative bartender that knows the balance between being social with customers and also allowing customers to enjoy their time with the people they came with to the bar. I'd love to come back to E's bar again in the future. So I'm hoping that I'm back in the UWS again soon. read more

I feel like if you come here any other time than happy hour, it's a lousy experience. Ironically I was at their other location the other week for an event where there was almost no food and long lines. Came back this weekend for a birthday. Glimpsed briefly and saw they have a $5 burger special along with their house beer and well at $6 and wine at $7 until 7pm on weekdays. If you come late on a weekend - $9 for anything beer wise. It doesn't matter if its pbr or Left hand milk stout - $9. Maybe you guys should at least accurately price out the beer. You can lower the house lager or Narrangansett (pbr's cousin from the east coast) to like $6 or 7 since I don't consider that craft and there is no well vodka on this face of the earth that can justify Wells/Wines marked at $11. Even my friends that are wealthier than I am were in a state of shock. I couldn't move or breathe or come up for air it was so crowded and not worth a $9-11 drink. But I stuck through it and was rewarded with a mac and cheese ball which while it tasted significantly better than it did at the event I attended because it was still warm and crisp on the outside it was still bland and tasteless. There are so many other bars on the upper west side with cheaper drinks and a better atmosphere that I don't get the general appeal here. read more

Love me some e's! Listen, I'm a dive bar fan. I'll drink in any watering hole that smells like a wet beer rag and where most surfaces are sticky. This isn't the case at e's, which is a bonus because now you can bring your friends in who aren't down with those deplorable conditions. Still, it's got just enough dive vibe, so it's uber comfortable for everyone involved. There are a few TV's around if you must watch sports (walk through to the back room if it's packed in front) and a ton of board games (do this) if you like to challenge friends to games of Battleshots (probably don't do this). There's food here too, but I can only comment on the burger and fries, which I always enjoy. The cheeseburger deluxe is filthy, in the best way. Overall, a place where you can rip back a dozen shots and sing along to the tunes, or where you can chill with an IPA and play some Monopoly with pals. Loves it. Bonus: If you sit in a booth you can order and pay from an ipad on the wall. This is so clutch if you're splitting bills or super impulsive. You can also skip waiting for a waitress or standing at a packed bar. Double Bonus Score: those drinks you order from the screen? They come out super fast. read more

Got the Pale Ale and it was hard to drink without eating any food. The hops really took over everything which I should have expected but was not thinking. Slightly pricey at $8 for the cheapest beer that was draft but due to the games being available, it made it more enjoyable. Lots of games to play but we would have enjoyed having Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity if they were to add any new ones since besides Jenga, we did a lot of Trivia. E's is our neighborhood bar, so when I needed spot at which to hold my boyfriend's 30th birthday, there was no question on where it would be. Marc, the bar manager, and Brady, were so helpful and wonderful that I would recommend E's to anyone looking to hold an event. They were expecting me when I arrived, had the back of the bar already sectioned off for our party, helped me with organization and were overall incredibly friendly and present. I never had to look far if I needed them, and they came back often to our area to check in. (While setting up the event, I had emailed with Erin, who was very sweet and very responsive.) Marc previously had been very accommodating when I came in a few months before with a large group that wanted to sit outside; he helped us move tables and get comfortable. Came here with my sisters a couple of weekends ago and had a great time, thanks to the really cool, attentive bartenders, reasonably priced drinks, great music, perfect people watching spot in the window and good company of course. The place was fairly busy around 6:30 on a Friday night, but we were able to snag a high top bar table at the window. Side note: the outlets on the right sided windows don't work, only the left.
