It's a former movie theater in its time. The molding in the auditorium is fascinating. The venue seats 750, the show was sold out last night. The auditorium is white and yellow, These colors give it a sterile feeling. Whenever I go to a venue I always note the number of emergency exits. The auditorium had two on each side of the stage. This venue is located on a steep hill in downtown Tacoma, the entrance to the venue has not been altered to today's standards so it's two double doors with a several steps up from the sidewalk. When the show was over all 750 of us funneled out of the theater via the double door entrance. I was stunned, had there been a fire trampling would occur, the small lobby we funneled thru there was a set of emergency exit doors. I truly felt my safety was at risk as we were all trying to exit via a set of two doors. I was trying to understand why the two doors in the auditorium were not open as an option to exit. The show was great I just really question the exit strategy.

No one was really taking the bowling seriously since it was more of an event to get together, eat, and chat, so the duckpin bowling is good for all the kids to just bowl for fun and all the adults to chatter in between. This is the fakest bowling alley to ever exist, everything is wrong. Came here to practice my bowling technique and it is impossible to do. Here is a list of things I wish I knew before coming: 1. Pins on strings. Not my preference- still manageable but makes for a different experience. 2. When booking online, it says shoe rentals included. There were no shoes. Make sure you wear shoes you feel comfy bowling in. It will affect your game. 3. Lanes are not oiled or properly marked!!!! This is the most important part of bowling otherwise you are just shooting blind. The balls were just going every which way regardless of how good your throw was!! 4. The space before the lane was wayyy shorter than a standard bowling alley making it impossible to do a proper approach!!! It took a whole game to adjust. I'm sure this place is fine to come for the arcade, laser tag, or other activities. But if you are expecting real bowling, you won't find it here!!!

Let's face it's an entire convention center room dedicated purely to vintage arcade & Pinball machines. The 3 day festivities are in June at the Tacoma Convention Center. I defiantly anticipate kicking my summer off by launching into my inner geek fest for hours on end. $ 20 to $25 per day is the admission price and the game play free unlimited playing. As a child I played with a pocket full of quarters at the arcade and now it's free once you pony up the admission fee. My favorite games I played this year was the new KISS Pinball machine. Amazing graphics and lightening fast ball action with amazing play. You'll be blown away by the newest features built into this machine. Heck you can even pick which KISS song you want it to play during the game. Also the multi ball play is insane. Ball's are flying everywhere and if you lose one another shots back onto the playing field. Very hyper and sometimes keeps you to focused on the play. Aerosmith 2017 machine was ok, so after a few plays I walked away instead of "Walk This Way". The Metallica Pinball machine was a nice playing machine however AC/DC's 2017 Pinball machine is awesome and should win the 2017 hyper play award. The fact the Angus bares his buns at the end of the game to give you a "MATCH PLAY" number is hilarious. New Batman Pinball machine came out. Kinda ironic since Adam West who played Batman died a few days ago. Vintage games like PAC MAN, Donkey Kong , Tempest & Astroids are line up in the gaming section of the floor. All the games you'll remember from childhood are there to play and as many times as you want. Most fun you'll have in an afternoon in Tacoma , so folks put it on your calendar for next year.

She has moved up through the classes and is now in Juniors with swim coach Payton, who is amazing and we absolutely love coming here every week. The facility is always very clean, the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming when greeting families, and the swim instructors are amazing and so patient with the kids. There are always two lifeguards monitoring each class in the pool, which gives us great peace of mind when it comes to safety. I also really appreciate that many classes have two instructors, allowing for extra attention and helping the kids hone their skills. Overall, we love the location, the friendly staff, and the wonderful facility. Highly recommend just be sure to sign up early, as classes tend to fill up quickly!

I had been to the Pantages Theater before, which is right up the street, and I guess this building fits right in with the other spaces in the square. There is a parking lot right across the street which makes it very convenient to get to the venue. The space itself is very clean throughout and modern looking in structure and paint. It is wheelchair accessible with elevators and the volunteer staff are very friendly and can answer just about any question you want to know. It appeared to mainly be made up of older ladies who probably have been patrons to the arts scene for the longest time. There is also a nice concession area with small snacks, coffee, adult beverages, and other things. I didn't purchase anything so I don't know what the prices were like. The theater itself had a very intimate setting in that it's a smaller theater with limited seating. It's quiet different from the theaters that require a larger stage for ballets, operas, or other events were there are larger in production and stage presence. I really liked the setting. The seats were easy to find and you don't feel cramped. The performance itself was amazing. The lighting and sound were also equally as amazing. I had seen flamenco at a theater in Olympia and this one was much better. I'll definitely be back to the Theatre on the Square. I will say that if you see a show you want to attend, buy your tickets early since the theater is small the performances sell out quickly.

They've clearly updated the outside of it but the inside is giving traditional 90s bowling alley vibes (which I love). The building is divided into two main areas - one with a ton of lanes (obviously) and then the other part is a really cool mini golf course with water features and everything. I'd love to come back here with my kids during the rainy months, because they'd be all about it. We got there right before a crazy rush thankfully and were set up with a lane in no time. Prices are kind of all over the place dependent on what day and time you go, but split between the three couples, it was super affordable for a date night activity. They also have a restaurant with traditional American offerings. We tried the nachos (delicious) and also the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla (also really good!) Nothing out of this world but still good and decently priced. Another bonus is that they have a full bar. It's on the smaller side, but a bar all the same... And really cheap! A pitcher of beer was like $13 which really is not bad for these days. This was a super fun spot for a night out with friends and we're excited to bring the kids back here once the fall weather hits!
