You can immediately tell that the owner puts extra care and intention into everything she offers. I had the chance to talk with her about some of the pieces and materials, and I really appreciated that many of the options are local -- always a big plus in my book. One detail that really stood out to me (and that I learned sets this studio apart from others in the area) is that she also finishes the bottoms of the pieces. That extra attention ensures everything fires properly in the kiln and helps the pieces last longer. It's such a thoughtful touch that shows how much pride she takes in her work. I also loved that all services are included in the pricing, so there are no surprise fees later on. That alone made the experience feel relaxed and stress-free. The selection is fantastic -- from small knickknacks to decorative wall pieces, to dishes like plates and mugs. I genuinely think anyone could find something here that fits their style. And best of all, you're not rushed at all. You could honestly spend the whole day there and no one would mind. While we were there, another woman came in with pottery she hadn't finished from a previous session. She set up with her tablet and headphones and worked quietly for a couple of hours -- it was really cool to see that flexibility. If you don't finish in one visit, you can pack up and come back later, which I love. Turnaround time was also impressive. From when we submitted our pieces to when we got them back, it was only about a week or two at most -- much quicker than I expected. And the results were beautiful. I'm so happy with how everything turned out and can't wait to come back again for another occasion. Highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a creative, welcoming, and thoughtfully run experience.

To be a small botanical garden, there's a nice walking path and many, many beautiful flowers and plants to see. There are often local community events hosted here. Activities for the young to adults. They have classes that you can find and sign up for on their website as well. And the classes are affordable!! You may even see people taking wedding photos here because again it's beautiful. The park is ADA friendly. The path is dirt and pebbled but can be navigated with a wheelchair. There are bathrooms on site and a small shop. I have never purchased bulbs or plants from here but I know there is a big community around that. The coffee shop in the garden can get busy. But a benefit is we were able to charge my husband's wheelchair there on a visit. While the park is open every day, the coffee shop is not. Definitely this should be a spot for all locals. And not just a one time visit either.

Once the entire family met up, we climbed back into the car and headed to Bellevue. Not sur if it was due to the time. But we were surprised there was a lot of parking available. We spent a good 2-hrs here which included getting lost and finding other street entries into the botanical park from a school and from other busy street corner at the bottom of the park. Nice and shaded, quiet little creeks, plenty of seating for those that were inspired to journal, plenty of elderly people using this time to exercise and stretch. We enjoyed the different areas like the swinging bridge, the Japanese garden and even the little cafe they have there. Fairly priced items and plenty of tables to enjoy a refreshment and snack. By the time we were done, the gift shop was already closed. So I took the opportunity to drop a donation into the box instead.

Having been a preferred caterer at Lakewold for more than thirty years, and having worked under the supervision of many, many Venue Directors, I am thrilled to see all the additions that Venue Director, Ms. Jordan Moll has brought to the venue. The warmth of the soft seating, the greenery, the artwork, the furniture pieces as well as the abundant smiles and expertise of Ms. Moll and Ms. Kathryn Castleberry have added the sorely needed welcoming elements to the Wagner House, which, in recent history, have been missing. There is a palpable difference to the venue that is hard not to notice! It feels "alive"! I am quite sure that Corydon and Eulalie Wagner's souls, as well as Judy and Corydon Jr.'s, are also thrilled that Corydon Jr.'s childhood home and Eulalie's gorgeous gardens, have newfound personality and appreciation from all the many guests that grace the venues halls and enjoy the spectacular grounds. I commend, enthusiastically, your choice of Ms. Jordan Moll, as the Venue Director and steward of Lakewold Gardens. She and Ms. Castleberry's respect for Lakewold Gardens is abundantly obvious. As a caterer I am honored every time one of my clients selects the Gardens for their very special celebration knowing that Ms. Moll's and Ms.Castleberry's influences are reflected in memories that will last a lifetime.
