Went in a party of 3 and did the bank heist. Lot of fun, I wish we'd used more clues sooner. The puzzles were interesting, some more simple than others so don't overthink things. My sister made reservations for last night for my BIL bday. We did the mad scientist lab? I can't remember the name haha. I had never done an escape room so I was excited to do it also it's upstairs so it's a bit stuffy in the room. We got in (6 of us) and watched a video monitor that explained how the escape room worked after the video a timer of 60 minutes begins along with some creepy music. All of us split up to try to figure out clues. Intermittently they will send a bing sound and a clue will pop up to help you out or you can do a thumbs up and they will send a clue but if you use too many it will cost you two minutes off your 60. You don't realize how fast an hour goes by when you're scrambling to get the clues. We were so close, the employee told us we were only two clues away from solving the room. We were like man! We still had fun tho. All of us want to go back and try another room. At the end they will take a pic for you, win or lose with cute little prop signs. They also give you dum dum suckers haha overall it's a fun experience. I didn't get pics because I left my phone in the car. You cannot take pics while in the escape room. this was just ok. I took my 3 children it was their first time. This place was very small. we waited a few minutes in the lobby for anyone to greet us when we got there. we got in the room and when we asked for a hint they gave us something we had already figured out. then before time tan out we were working on a clue and it wouldn't work but we had it right. we kept hearing knocking on the door next door was told it was a different group. The host looked very young and didn't really explain much. felt rushed before and after. not a very good location at n olmsted for my opinion. read more

I encourage anyone to STEER CLEAR. It's advertised as "the best escape rooms in Cleveland" and while I haven't tried any of the other yet, if it has a claim to be the best I truly wouldn't want to see the others. Since when did "meticulous attention to detail" translate into broken items (not just one or two, but most of them) and locks that will not open? Since when did "charismatic staff that set the tone" translate into apathetic staff who could not care if you were there or not and had no actual want to help you when you were stuck on something that was their fault? We knew the place would be a problem when, in the middle of this "immersive experience" there's a portable AC unit on the floor near the middle of the room that sticks out like a sore thumb and was in the way. They did ask if we wanted that on though, so props to them. Room was still hot since they only set the AC to 73. You start by watching a 20-inch monitor (and for our group of 5 we had to get really close to even see it) and it gives you directions about not touching things and what not. The "do not touch" is marked by stickers, and my god, they were all over that room. There was maybe a dozen things in the entire room we COULD touch. They also say do not touch the wires, unless its the wires you are supposed to touch (which half of them were broken but still showed the correct next answer when you put them near each other? Immersive, right?). Why do you have exposed wiring that we are not allowed to touch? Would it have been so difficult to hide that exposed wiring that's meant for your security cameras? We had five in the room and I wish they would've advertised that it should not have more than 4 because they only let you find one singular clue at a time, so we were always stepping over each other. The room is small to say the least, and the break-off rooms are broom closets. We felt like we were useless half of the time because none of the clues are designed for more than two people. We attempted the Mad Scientist Room and probably would have finished it if the lock was not broken to the point they had to bring in a bolt cutter immediately after we left. The room looked as though they bought all of the supplies at the Spirit Halloween End-Of-Season sale, and reminded me of an abandoned grocery store that's been transformed into a haunted house. The room was challenging, sure, but not as challenging and trying to determine if two things that look identical are different colors without being able to touch it. Even still, we had the correct combination for the lock with 25 minutes left on the clock, and the staff was (im assuming) just watching us in the control room lose our minds trying to determine new combination lock colors when it really was as simple as our first answer. They gave us 10 minutes back, so again, props to them. Their claim is that their "Charismatic Staff that sets the tone" for the experience, and it did set a tone alright. They were rude, tried placing the blame for the lock on us and then brought in 3 different people to try to fix the lock and were completely unsuccessful. So they just begrudgingly said "ok well the next answer is..." and pointed us to the next lock and started the 10 minutes. We asked for a clue one time, and yet somehow all of our clues were used with them giving us answers to things we solved. They say "please wait 20-30 seconds for a clue" which translated into about 6 minutes. During the first clue, we were looking for coordinates and a clue popped up and all it said was "its on the ____". No theming, no engagement, just a "hey stupids, it's there". There was one singular animation in this room that spoke so Hush whisper we could not hear him over the portable AC they parked immediately next to him. This was how we lost the game, we had him repeat himself like six times and still did not hear the correct words for the combo locks. I have never been to an escape room where they didn't tell you how far along you were or how to escape, so that was a new experience. Couldn't actually tell you if we were close, for all I know we had another 90 minutes and four rooms. When the timer ran up the apathetic kid came in and said, "too bad, maybe next time, wants pictures I guess?" We declined. At that point we were over it. Thats when we saw the other kid come in with bolt cutters to remove that lock. Didn't find out how it was solved, won't ever spend my money there again to find out. Would love my money back for my wasted time, but I don't think that will happen. read more

We had a lot of fun at this room, it was definitely better than another escape room we did.. one perhaps located downtown... ahem. The Tombstone room didn't have much in it- the items for the clues and some themed decoration, which is how it should be. We were able to focus on the game and not boxes of junk that didn't pertain to our escape at all. There were a lot of clever details and challenging puzzles. We had to ask for a couple of clues and the only negative review I have is that our clues weren't clues. The host just came in told us the next thing or what was being unlocked. In the end, I guess it's a good thing because we only got out with 1 minute to spare. The host and everyone else we encountered were very nice and friendly. We all agreed this was a fun activity and will be back to this Escape Room again! (With more friends!) read more

This was only my 2nd escape room, however, I play computer puzzle games in the same genre of "Myst" and "The Room". My group did the Red Alert room. The design and look of the room was awesome, it really looked like the inside of a spaceship! We found out after we did not complete our mission in 60 minutes that it is the hardest room there, so I highly recommend only experienced escape room players for this one. We had a blast though, the staff was friendly and helpful and we'd definitely go back for other rooms. read more

I honestly suspect that this business is a front. It's a shady little house with a couple bedrooms that have been poorly converted into "escape rooms." As I entered and exited the building, I watched for captives because it totally had that kind of vibe. I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to see this place on the eleven o'clock news in the near future. Upon our arrival, we were told that we would be sharing our room with another party. I understand that it's within their rights to add people but I think customers should be notified when they're going to be expected to share this expensive experience with multiple toddlers. If I'd known that I was going to listen to baby talk and screaming for an hour, I would've put my money to better use elsewhere. Between my group and the other family, there were twelve people in the room which is WAY beyond the space's capacity. When people are packed like that, only a few can truly participate. I found myself standing off to the side without any idea of what was happening. I couldn't write any spoilers if I wanted to! I'll admit that the idea of escape rooms has never appealed to me but I expected that there would at least be an interesting or authentic-looking room with some kind of scenario or premise to explain our need to "escape." Instead, we were ushered into a tiny room with nasty 70s carpeting and some junk from garage sales and told that we wouldn't be given the solution if we didn't figure it out. As if we'd want to come back. I've seen couch cushion forts that were more thoughtfully designed. Aside from the beige decor of the garage sale garbage props and Brady Bunch carpeting, I couldn't see any connection to the Indiana Jones theme they advertised. I honestly can't put my hatred of this place into words. I can't think of a single good thing to say about it. My money would've been better spent if I'd put it through a paper shredder. Wow! This was a great time! My husband and I stopped in for a little something different on date night. We tried the Indiana Jones themed room. We were very impressed by the room, I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say you are in for a surprise! Very tough and the two of us only finished 85% in the hour time. We should have worked together more on the first part and we could have probably gotten it done. We enjoyed and would try again! May be easier with four people, I wouldn't suggest more- not sure it would be do-able with so many people trying to find clues. read more

I would like to be very objective with this review and just state the facts. This review is for Sherlock Holmes. There is no audio for the game moderator to hear you. You have 5 clues which I thought would be beneficial, however it is not if there is no moderator answering.... To obtain a clue you need to give a "thumbs up" sign to a camera. On average it took 5-7 min for our request for a clue to be acknowledged. So after waiting the 5-7 min to be noticed, we were then given clues to puzzles we had already solved........ after being ignored for 6 min at one point I had to leave the room to go get the moderator. Something I have never had to do in an escape room. When we approached the moderator with our concerns she made the excuse that we were ahead of the game and that's why she wasn't responding to our request for a clue. Tell people they won't be given clues at the beginning then and don't make us jump up and down in front of the camera like idiots with our "thumbs up" for 6 minutes trying to get your attention. Next point. Several puzzles were not working order and the room was not properly reset. One of the puzzle pieces that was supposed to be for the end of the game I had obtained 1st leading to unnecessary confusion. 2 times someone had to come in to "fix" something and once it wasn't even fixable and they just told us the answer to the clue we were supposed to obtain from the broken device I can guaranty the business owners are going to have a variety of excuses for all of these points as that is all we were given when we voiced our concerns. But this is my review for Escape room Cleveland north Olmsted location and I stand by it. read more

We had such a blast! We did the mad scientist room and had so much fun. My husband and I took our kids and we put our heads together and solved the room with 12 minutes to spare! This was our first time doing an escape room and we are all hooked! We will be back to try the other rooms for sure! I think it's best working with a group, there was 6 of us and it took all of us to solve! The only suggestion I'd make is to offer a video.it would be great to watch it all from the beginning and see the magic unfold! read more

Went with 8 people and did the Wild West room. We escaped with about a minute to spare. Used a few hints as well. Some parts were somewhat easy but we got stumped on one of the puzzles in the middle by overthinking. All in all, we had a great time! Went with 8 family members -- 4 adults and 4 kids ages 10-15 -- to do the Dr. Jones room. We were a little skeptical when we walked in because the building seemed small and run down, but once we got into the room, we were impressed by the sophistication of some of the clues. The girl who led our group was super nice, and she came in when we gave up on one of our ideas to tell us to keep trying (without giving us an actual clue). The price is a little high for one hour of entertainment, but it was a really fun time and was a good bonding experience. read more

So we did mad scientist. We escaped in 3 minutes due to the room not being organized well. We had a staff member come in and say please don't touch this until the end... okay why isn't it locked? The room had so many useless pointless clues. The room was not big or well organized. The room was not thought out puzzle wise well. Or organized well in terms of people arriving while leaving. There were so many people in waiting room it was hard to take a picture. We couldn't figure out how to get out so they kept giving us more time because technically we escaped in 3 minutes. I went here for a date and it was a blast! It's a change from the regular dinner or a movie and gets you really interacting with your partner and working together. We took on the mad scientist room and although we didn't make it all the way through, we still really enjoyed the experience. It was challenging but definitely doable with a little will and brain power. Mohammed was very personable, helpful, and friendly. I wasn't sure what to think of this place or the idea of an escape room before we got there, but once we were in the room and trying to get out, I was all in! The place looks like an older house of some sort and not much to it, but they did a great job of making rooms challenging yet fun- for a family full 1 under the age of 10 to a couple above 50. We sometimes had to wait a little to get the clue that we were asking for but successfully escaped the Dr. Jones room. Fun was had by all, and it left me wanting to conquer another room! read more

I could not have imagined doing this with strangers and did not realize you could potentially be put in a room with people not in your party until after you booked. We paid for nine people and were the only group in the facility. We ask for a clue at 45 minutes. We waited for the staff to notice our request and then the clue was something we had already solved and therefor useless. We spent the last 15 min totally frustrated. There was another mystery we put together correctly but it had been installed incorrectly and therefor did not work. A very annoying experience. We had a great time! Our group of ten successfully escaped in the Sherlock room with 42 seconds left (there were many red herrings, and we were told that the Sherlock room was the second hardest). It was a good experience and the clues given by the TV helped us, especially near the end. I would recommend taking all the clues if needed since they can only help you. My husband and I were really excited to come play this escape game, but our excitement quickly turned into disappointment. When we arrived 15 minutes before the time we booked, the place was locked up tight...it finally opened 5 minutes before we were to start, so we went in. The 'host' who was inside was a gal who seemed annoyed that she had to open for us. She took us to the Mad Scientist room and proceeded to tell us that the door was broken so it wouldn't shut all the way...um, doesn't that negate the idea of the need to escape? So we get going on the clues, some were hard, some not as bad, and we were trying over and over again to get one of the locks undone. The gal comes walking in the room and asks what combination are we using...she said that it was correct but that we (meaning my husband and I should have known to and how to) needed to reset the lock before we put in the combination to unlock it! Excuse me? What? It would have been fine if she had just come in and said it was tricky or something like that, but she basically told us it wouldn't open because we didn't reset it. I wouldn't have even thought about that in a million years nor should I have to! My brain pretty much shut off after that because I was so upset that she was blaming us for the lock not working, so I wasn't into it anymore and told my husband I wanted to go. We ended up staying and solving more clues, but when we would get stuck, it took so long to get a clue from the lady, that we would be past it before she gave us that clue and could have used them on other things. Needless to say, we did not escape and at the end, she came in and was like okay you are done...in a get the heck out sort of way. I had done an escape room before (not at this place) and it was a ton of fun and glad I had that experience, because if this had been my first I would never go to another again. The worst part of it was the host...she had a bad attitude and took it out on us. And there was no one else (customers) in the place, so she should have offered us a different room that had a working door! Customer service at its best! read more

I LOVE escape rooms and have done 3 in the past year -- this was easily my least favorite, by far. Compared to others, this escape room offered little entertainment value and the staff seemed bored and uninterested in providing an enjoyable experience. I'm sure Cleveland has something better to offer -- I'll keep looking. read more
