We were with two folks who are veteran escape room junkies so they asked to take a peek in the Asylum Escape Room. It looked very neat. When we got there we noticed the two rooms are opposites regarding the success rate - Chocolate Factory the best rate (maybe 60% approx.) and Asylum the lowest of all their rooms at maybe 15% (I am guessing here on the %'s). The Asylum room was not booked so we also did that one (I think getting a 15% off for going a second time on the same day). That was very, very tough. Tons of clues with numbers and symbols and letters, etc. The game master was great (young lady, forgot her name). The rooms functioned fine (nothing broke or missing). Any negative comments? The only one I came up with was that occasionally when we needed clues we had to ask multiple times before they came through on the screen. Overall, we would highly recommend this location.

We had 5 people and cost $150 for a 60 mins experience in the asylum room. We were excited and quickly disappointed and irritated. We started in the room with no problems, solved the first riddle and went to the next riddle with another locker with a 4 letter word lock pad and it already was unlocked. At this point a clue was revealed with a key to a door and the representative working entered the room and told us that key was to a clue inside a cell door that didn't work and just told us the other clues we were to retrieve from that room. From that info and other info we found we were able to continue our experience. Shortly after we open another pad lock to a phone in which the representative AGAIN came in and told us we shouldn't have been able to open that because it was broken and should have had a key lock. Which confused us on what to do next. And the representative overall explained every steps after that and told us we won! We completed this in 38 mins mostly being confused about literally everything and still confused at this moment in time. Props were worn down and could barely read. Terrible experience in the south park mall location. I have done multiple escape rooms in my past and never experienced something like this before. All other people in my group were very disappointed as well. Will never go back. The fact that this experience was $150 for most of the time the employee having to tell us certain things because things were broken I could have watched a YouTube video on someone else doing it and got the same experience for free. I did talk to the owner or manager and he did reward me with a gift card for the price of our experience but I want everyone else to know of our experience and probably take the time and effort to visit a different place.

The puzzles were challenging but surmountable. Just don't forget your readers if you're in the over forty crowd! Plus it's local. Highly recommend giving them a try. One caveat. This isn't the high tech franchise escape variety. It's just a really great set of solid puzzles. If you want bells and whistles (and the price tag) go to escape room in Crocker Park. Just hope they don't pair you with someone who isn't fun.

Nonetheless, we chose a room with a high(er) degree of difficulty......spoiler alert, we could t have finished without extra time & MORE than the allotted number of hints. Since it was early and not busy, we got to quickly peek at other rooms. They were all clean, looked fun & challenging. Once you are in the room, there is a handy video introduction to the course. My partner went ahead and started while the newbie watched the video, and boy did we end up needing that. We planned on returning for ax throwing later in the evening, but ended up with other plans.
