I was in Dunedin for a week and gave every coffee place a chance to see where the best coffee in town would be. I love the flavor and texture of a great latte and sadly, only found this place the last day of my trip. It was clearly the best. I would classify this as artisan coffee - brewed with care. They know what they are doing when brewing up a decaf latte and properly steaming a smooth and foamy almond milk. Nothing in the area compares. The girls are friendly and will strike up a conversation. The decor of the place is cute & relaxing. There is a couch, large table and a bar to sit at. They offer juice and other smoothies as well. This place is good and had a nice look decor wise but... A few things to improve the decor are that there is nowhere productive to sit and relax and work your phone or laptop for an hour. I think people like to do this type of thing at a juice shop or a coffee shop. I know some places in the middle of a busy city might want to deter people from staying and working for an hour or two, but this is not a high population area and I don't think it would be every seat full type of situation in this city in any coffee shop or juicery. I would recommend taking a field trip to go and visit The Black Crow Coffee shop in downtown St Petersburg for some ideas on creative seating - they do a good job at maximizing their seating and encouraging people to hang out. Customers who can sit and work and relax for a bit might be encouraged to come back more frequently and feel more like this is a great place for a reset and make a to-do list or send a few emails. I struggled with my laptop for a quick one-hour work session and I saw another customer doing the same thing with her laptop while balancing a bowl / cup with a spoon. This town doesn't have a place like that. People who hang out spend money and drink and then eat and repeat that weekly. Some of the food items are in bowls as well and need a little desk or table to balance on. Check out the Bucantee Market in St Pete for some ideas on vintage or eclectic furniture of all styles. Where to put it -maybe get rid of the grey sofa and little side chairs and make some little seating areas with tops. There was a little bit of shared bar seating but communal seating isn't for everyone and doesn't fit most people who like to have a tiny seat or table alone or with one friend and its cold. read more

A tad pricey.... but I have tried every place in Pinellas county, you pay for what you get & this is the best quality you will find. Most delicious too. In for a business trip and found this Juice Bar while heading to my next destination. The Juice itself is great and highly recommend coming here for quality Cold Press Juice. However it was pretty interesting when it was time for purchase, I grabbed my bottle and she said it was "10.5" and I looked at her confused because I never asked her what the price of the juice was. I was just trying to purchase my Juice. She apologized as I told her I was trying to let her know I am purchasing the juice. I know communication can be difficult during COVID and we all have to wear mask, but I am still confused why she told me the price when the prices are listed and I can see the prices very clear. read more

While visiting Orlando my wife and I started visiting large chain smoothie shops. We were afraid when we moved over to Dunedin we'd be out of luck for a shop that was close to where we were staying. Did a search and discovered Escape Root Juicery just off the Pinellas Bike Trail. Perfect for us to ride to. We are from small town Tennessee so the Orlando chain shops were a real treat for us...BUT Escape Root is on a whole nother level. In our brief stay I have tried every bowl and every smoothie. While my wife is hooked on the Hitchhike Bowl I've found every offering is WONDERFUL! The girls, and Russel of course, make you feel like one of the family the moment you walk in the door. I am known by many as one of the state's leading connoisseurs of fine meats. We're talking meats like bacon, deer hearts, pork chops, beef, fishes, raccoon, bacon, and carnitas. That said, Escape Root Juicery has become a refuge of sorts, a hiding place for me to "escape" the pressures of being a carnivorous expert and lose myself in a culinary world of which I am a foreigner. Until I first walked into Escape Root I was under the impression that acai was an illness that you got from eating undercooked howler monkeys in Central America. It turns out that's not entirely accurate. As it is, acai is what is known in the juice and fruit bowl world as a superfood. I have been able to run a little faster lately so I think it's working. I don't think staff is an appropriate word to describe the angels that float behind the counter and make for us their delicious frozen potions of strength. Nowhere in my experience have I ever met a group of life givers more genuine and loving, save for the sweet nurses that rock the jaundiced infants in the maternity section of Mease Hospital down the road. I headed to Escape Root after my yoga class got rained out - and it absolutely made up for the rain! Driving up to this space, I didn't know what to expect - but stepping inside felt like walking in someone's home. The space is inviting, the decor is charming and homey, and we were welcomed immediately by the owner. Alex is incredibly sweet and knew my friend by name (which is my favorite thing to see since I love being a regular!). I ordered the seasonal coconut bowl which could easily feed two people. The ingredients were fresh, the service was amazing and the space was clean and beautiful. I live about 45 min away from Dunedin and was only visiting for the day, but it's nice to know that when I come back, there's an awesome spot to grab a bite just waiting for me. read more
